Massimo delivered us quickly and safely to our tour guide, Marco. Marco was a terrific guide with wonderful knowledge of the Vatican from a historical perspective. Marco did a very thorough job giving us a great overview of the Vatican. To truly see the entire Vatican it would take several trips, we felt Marco did a great job of putting the Vatican into relative perspective given our time together. It is definitely a beautiful place to visit and highly recommended weather it is from a religious perspective or historical perspective.

Our tour with Alessia was fantastic. She was very informative, navigated the massive crowds extremely well, and ensured we had a plan to get home at the end of our tour. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone looking to go to the Vatican (especially during Jubilee) as there is a lot going on and it can be very overwhelming. Alessia was very friendly, helped us take pictures, and had resources on hand to help with the tour (pictures, magazines, etc.). Money well spent.

Private walking tour of the Vatican City with Maria who was excellent. Fantastic knowledge and so accommodating. She made sure that we saw everything we wanted and more. Her historical and artistic knowledge was second to none as was her English. She made the whole experience so enjoyable and we felt that we learnt so much from her. Would definitely book with her again.

Due to Jubilee events we were not able to enter the Vatican early. In fact, we were contacted by the tour company days before the tour that we could not even enter when the Vatican first opened. So, they rescheduled for a start time 2 hours later and gave us a partial refund. This was handled very professionally by them and gave us more time to sleep. We were picked up at our hotel promptly at the new start time. When we got to the Vatican, it was crowded, but with our terrific guide (Mikaela), this was not a problem. Mikaela was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and was able to answer all of our questions. We were a group of 4 seniors and could not have had a better experience. Thank you very much Mikaela.

A terrific experience. We first toured the Santa Maria del Grazie church and then saw the Last Supper. The guide explained a lot in the 15 minutes and also afterwards. We then went to the Duomo. First to the rooftop and then inside. Our guide Gianluca was wonderful. Very knowledgeable. We also took his suggestion afterwards and visited Brera and the museum there. We had a lovely lunch. I would highly recommend Gianluca and this tour.

Our tour guide, Kate, was amazing. She had incredible knowledge of the Vatican and was able to navigate us through on an extremely busy day there. She was authentic and kind. She was able to answer every question we had and provide more background and information so we could get the most out of our experience. It is an expensive tour but worth every penny.

We had a very knowledgeable, experienced & friendly tour guide who met us on time outside our accommodation & took us on the Vatican tour. Ellie was fantastic, she answered all our questions & nothing was too much trouble for her. Afterwards, a driver picked us up & took us wherever we wanted to be dropped (in our case, the medieval area). Very enjoyable.

Siriki was unbelievable! He was extremely patient with my elderly parents, helping my mother down the steps and talking loud for my hard of hearing father. Having an archeological tour guide was amazing. He’s so knowledgeable about the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and Bascilla. We had a tour three years before and this was so much more. He showed us things we had never seen. Would recommend 100%.

A first-class experience from A to Z. Our Roman tour guide Carlo entertained us with interesting and often humorous anecdotes about the art, culture and history of the Vatican collections. Carlo was also extremely kind and helpful with my older friend who needed extra time to make her way through the labyrinth of a vast collection built across the millennia. We opted for the luxury tour that included the private driver to and from our hotel near the American Embassy. Our driver was also of an exceptional caliber. The comfort of knowing that he was waiting for us at the end of our tour, ready to whisk us back to our hotel, added just that little bit of extra sparkle we were looking for in our day. Also of note: the tour office was prompt at getting back with me when I had a few last-minute questions about logistics. Overall, a well-run and professional organization that will really take care of you.

We utilized the Eyes of Rome Semi Private tours for both Vatican museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica, as well as, the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Both were small groups (6 of us on each tour) and both of our guides (Rachelle for Vatican City and Marta for Colosseum) were fantastic! Knowledgeable, friendly and truly seemed to enjoy their job even with both areas being very busy and considering a very hot day in Rome. Would highly recommend both tours, definitely worth it for semi-private compared to other large tour groups we saw.

We had an absolutely FANTASTIC tour experience with Michela from “Eyes of Rome Private Tours”! She was so friendly and knowledgeable! She shared so many interesting facts about what life was like during the time the Colosseum was built. She showed us many different vantage points to take pictures from. We toured through the Colosseum’s many areas and she really made it “come to life”! I told her “I can hear the roar of the crowds”! We then went on to the Roman Forum and she gave us so much background and history about the different structures. This tour was absolutely fantastic! Our guide Sylvia struck the perfect balance of storytelling with a modern twist making all the old wildly fascinating! She is a professor and used her iPad to zoom in on details, which made the art and history come alive in such an engaging way. She had an incredible sense of how much information to share—enough to keep us fascinated without ever overwhelming or boring us. She could take the temperature of the group and adjust quickly. I was attentive the entire time (which says a lot!) and even my active 10-year-old nephew stayed engaged. She handled curious, energetic kids with such ease and warmth, keeping the experience fun for everyone. Truly a master at wrangling wild boys while still making the tour deeply informative. Our guide was awesome. He seemed to know all the tricks...having us get coffee and pastries across the street from the entrance until the last minute, how to get in quickly minimizing our time in line, and, once inside where to go that wasn't crowded, including getting us into the Sistine Chapel when is was maybe 1/4 full. As an archeologist by trade, he was also extremely knowledgeable about all the art and the history behind the pieces.

Our driver was perfectly on time, as usual. After around an hour we made it to Pisa and had a lovely time with our guide. She explained everything perfectly well. We got the see the church, baptistery and of course go on top of the tower! We had a lovely time followed by a delicious lunch. Highly recommenedd

Our guide Marina was excellent and highly knowledgeable about the Forum and Colosseum. We saved a lot of time by having the special access and the floor of the Colosseum was definitely a highlight. One great thing about a private guide was the ability to spend extra time or investigate other features that we were interested in, also we were able to move at a pace that was appropriate for the group. Marina was very good at assessing what level of detail we liked. We would highly recommend her and this tour.

Silvia was an incredible storyteller who brought the Vatican to life in a way I’ve never experienced before. Her ability to make history interesting & engaging made this the best tour we’ve ever been on. She explained topics with clarity and depth, but never in a way that felt overwhelming or like a quiz. Rome is truly the spiritual capital of Western Christianity, and visiting these sacred sites brings the richness of our faith to life. The beauty, inspiration, and historical depth of each church were simply indescribable. Our guide, Simone, was absolutely wonderful—knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate. He brought each stop to life with fascinating insights and stories. The air-conditioned van was a huge bonus, especially in the Roman heat, making the experience both comfortable and enjoyable. I can’t recommend this tour highly enough—it was a highlight of our time in Rome!

We opted for a private tour with hotel pickup of the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica. It was our first full day in Rome and we slept right through our alarm! We are a larger family with four children ages 13-11-8-8. Katie was our guide and from the moment we met her, we knew it was going to be a fantastic day. She was patient and kind and understanding. This was the first time our kids had experienced jet lag or Europe for that matter. Katie rolled right along with it. It was evident that Katie was knowledgeable and extremely passionate about the history and information she was presenting. She picked out special nuggets of information that children would find interesting and they did! I have several photos of them listening intently to Katie while she shows them different sculptures and works of art. It was an eye-opening and wondrous experience for them and we are so grateful that Katie set the tone she did. We had FOUR more tours after Rome and they did so well! In fact a few times they asked each other who their favorite guide was and it was always unanimously Katie. But she didn’t just relate to kids - she related so well with my husband and I. A really good guide curates a tour based on their audience and knows when to tweak things midway through. When there was a delay in the doors opening to St. Peter’s from the Sistine chapel, Katie rolled with it and so did we. This tour was by far the best tour of Rome I have ever personally experienced. She brought the artwork to life through superior storytelling and forged a connection with her guests in a way that many people cannot achieve. Never in my wildest dreams did I think a group of kids would choose the Vatican as their favorite tour after a total of five tours in 12 days but they sure did. I truly cannot sing her praises enough. Next time we find ourselves in Rome, I will reserve her for the entire stay! She is one of those people you meet in a city thousands of miles away from home that you simply never forget. This was a 5-star tour in every way!

Absolutely amazing because of our guides! Blevna and Severine were so much fun! Skipped all lines, Blevna blocked everyone out of the way to get us perfect family pics, haha, we felt like celebrities! Got incredible power punched details about the museum, the artists and the works of art. They tag teamed the information that seemed more like pure entertainment. We expected this visit to the Forum and Colosseum to be one of the highlights of the trip and it do not disappoint. Luca was our guide and he was great. He was extremely knowledgeable and flexible in explaining the things that we were more interested in. He used maps and photos he brought with him to help us visualize the original layout and appearance of the sites; that was very helpful. He was later kind enough to email us files of some of the materials he used so we would have them as a reference. He was also happy to offer to take photos for us as a couple., which was very convenient. Gracie Luca!

This was the best choice we could have made for our trip to the Vatican. Our guide Siriki was so wonderful, we couldn't imagine having gone on this tour with anyone else. Our tour guide Alice was incredibly knowledgeable not only about the Cathedral but also the Cathedral Museum. She met us at our apartment and walked with us to ensure we did not get lost. A great tour! Only complaint would be in the booking… I believed that I had booked the Dome Climb. The booking language should be more clear: “Duomo tour with Dome Climb” and “Duomo tour without Dome Climb”… including “climb” in the language would prevent confusion.

Francesca was absolutely my favorite. She was more than a guy that day. She was my friend. She was also my photographer over and over again without me even asking. A very catering experience and a very intimate extremely educational experience.

We had a lovely tour in the Vatican. Our guide was excellent, she guided us through the maze of the Vatican and got us a brilliant spot in the Sistine chapel so we could spend lots of time in this wonderful place.

Great tour. Knowledgable tour guide. Definitely worth getting up early - even at 7:30am and a "skip the line" ticket there were plenty of crowds. Can't imagine navigating this without the help of a guide. Our tour met at a cafe near the Vatican where you can get a coffee and use the restroom. Our entry was for 8am and by 7:45 we were in line for our skip the line tour. :-) Once the doors opened the security check went quickly and our guide was very knowledgable. We were on a private, 4 person tour and we would do it again.

Just us two and our super-knowledgable tour guide (an archeologist). Huge amount of information to take in around the Forum, left us somewhat overwhelmed. The Colosseum is awesome and must have been hugely dominant in the lives of the Romans. What a structure! So much more to it than I imagined.

I am disabled and need private guides when touring. Giancarlo was accommodating to my special needs. He took care of using lifts to avoid stairs and gaining entry to the Basilica through the Holy Doors without waiting in line. He also asked me right away what I wanted to spend time on since this was my third visit to the Vatican museums and all. I loved visiting the Pinoteca for the first time. He helped me get a seat in the Sistine Chapel. I had plenty of time to view the frescoes. We spent lots of time in the Basilica. He showed me some parts that I have never seen. When I mentioned that they were playing my mother’s favorite, Adeste Fidelis, he suggested that I take a video so I could record the music for her. He took me to a good store at the end. The driver who took me to meet the guide was friendly. The only thing missing was that other guides have shown greater interest in me as a person. I like to talk about what I know and past experiences. He didn't engage with me when I told anecdotes. He is knowledgeable and polite.

Wonderful tour with Elieonora our guide. Fun, great knowledge, and a passion that was contagious. Standing in the floor of the colosseum was a highlight. Loved it!!

Our guide Ellie was amazing. Her knowledge of history and architecture was remarkable and her presentation was wonderful. Her business card read 'storyteller' which is the perfect description. She made the Coloseum come to life. We learned so much.

We booked an excellent "Private Vatican Museums Hidden Gems" Tour. We had booked this particular one because it was longer than many others, and the Vatican requires much time to appreciate. (Even the four hours was, of course, only a small taste.) We were absolutely thrilled with our "Eyes of Rome" Guide, Rosalba Cilione (an Art Historian, whose business card verily calls herself a "Storyteller"). She carefully chose a reasonable set of elements on which we should focus., and provided both broad perspectives and sufficient in-depth (and fascinating) detail. The details (indeed stories!) brought the architecture, paintings, and sculpture alive and made our trip special..

A really excellent tour. Our guide Emmi was extremely well informed, enthusiastic and covered an immense amount of material brilliantly. The short cut routes on the private tour are invaluable when everything is crowded. It also really helps when your guide is knowledgeable and can focus on interesting pieces and stories. A phenomenal experience.

We did several private tours with this company for our family trip. This included three generations and people ranging from 9 to 72. All of the tours were fantastic!! We also got transfers, which were so helpful. The driver was extremely nice and patient (even as some of our group struggled with arriving on time)! We had different guides for the Pantheon, the Colosseum and Roman forum, and early morning Vatican City tours. All of them were fantastic! They were all extremely patient and knowledgeable with information that engaged everyone within the group (which is not always the easiest thing to do). They matched their pace to the group, were very patient answering questions and also taking photos of the group. We would recommend each of these tours individually, but given our experience, it does seem that the company works hard to provide the best experience for all their customers. I would imagine that any tour they do would be the same!

Elisa was the best guide ever! She explained the paintings, the statues and the tapestries in depth and added some backstories to give a full account of the times and culture of the pieces. The artwork is beyond words. You'll find yourself looking all around with your mouth open in awe.

Our guide Azzurra was incredible! We had so much fun and learned so much!! We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone.

Rosie was a well informed tour guide and quickly able to determine what might be of interest to our family at the Vatican. Despite the quick changes and adjustments to our liking she was extremely knowledgeable of whatever we were discussing. Very nice person. Very friendly.

We had a family group (6 adults + 8 month old infant) and were absolutely delighted with our experience. The "Comfort Option," which included a pickup at our apartment in Rome was outstanding. We toured the Forum and Colosseum with Katie F. and she was so amazing! She didn't just point things out, it was like touring with a Roman history professor. She was so knowledgeable and fun to be with, the time just flew by. We did the Belvedere tour of the top of the Colosseum and it was simply breathtaking! We did a private Forum and Colosseum (Belvedere level) tour with Katie and it was such a great experience! She is is friendly and knowledgeable, it was like touring with a Roman history professor. We also did a Vatican private tour with Elisa D. and she was equally as friendly and knowledgeable about everything Vatican. We learned so much history from both of these tours. All in all, this is a top level tour company and we will definitely recommend them to anyone we know visiting Italy! We would absolutely use them again the next time we visit Rome!

This was a great tour and well worth the money. Our driver took us to Elisa (spelling?), who met us at the entrance to the Vatican Museums, where we entered slightly after they opened. We saw various highlights of the museums, a long set of galleries, and the Sistine Chapel. Since guiding wasn't allowed in the chapel, she showed us photos beforehand, explaining what we'd see and where. Then we took the guided tour shortcut to St Peter's Basilica, where again she showed us around to see the highlights. We spent 3.5 hours, saw a lot, but obviously there was so much more to see. Having a private guide was definitely worth it to maximize our time and our understanding of what we were seeing. Overall a great tour!

Our tour guide Roman was incredibly knowledgeable and made our time at the Vatican feel so very well spent. She curated a lovely, meaningful tour and brought to life so many art objects with relevant historical context, memorable stories and a deeper understanding of the Vatican. Overall, we left feeling like we truly experienced the Vatican museums, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s, and in the most time efficient way. We had a Private Walking Tour but it did not include the Accademia. Francesca R met us at our hotel precisely at the planned time and shared she was a native Florentine. This gives her an advantage which we always appreciate in our selection of private guides. Her knowledge about the architecture, art, history and culture of the city is impressive. But what's even more impressive is her ability to "weave the story." She explains the sights not as discrete elements but as part of a larger, richer story of the city. She even allowed my constant interruptions to ask her to expound on specific elements and how they fit. In our experience with private guides, this is unusual and highly appreciated. We enjoyed our stop for coffee and pastries at her favorite cafe and she even extended the time of our tour to ensure we saw elements about which she was Florentine-proud (my words). When you consider a private guide in Florence, request Francesca.

We took the “Private Borghese Gallery Tour with Hotel Pick-up and Drop-off” from Eyes of Rome on December 26. We were picked up on-time at our hotel by the tour’s driver and dropped off at the Villa Borghese and met immediately by our personal guide, Silvia, who greeted us warmly and immediately started setting the context of what we were about to see with the history of the Aurelian wall, Roman life in the 1600s, and the concept of the “villa suburbana,” all of which is quite necessary for a full appreciation of the wonder that is the Galleria Borghese. She explained to us the relation of the Galleria’s founder Cardinal Scipione Borghese and his position as the Cardinal Nephew to Pope Paul V, which gave him political power over the Papal States. Silvia told us of the original plan of the gardens and the vivarium, which housed species from all over the world- plants and birds respectively, which was foundational to understanding the art collection to come. For context, I have twice visited the Galleria Borghese in 1996 and 2010, but it was my husband’s first visit to the Galleria and, in fact, to Rome. Our tour impressed, entertained, and satiated the curiosity of both of us equally– not an easy feat, for sure. We appreciated that Silvia structured the tour as much as possible as the Galleria was meant to be experienced (unwinding, if philosophically, the changes to the sequence of rooms necessitated by current COVID protocols). Silvia was knowledgeable, personable, funny, and very well-versed in the history of the Borghese family, the Papacy as related to it, and the artists (Bernini, Carvaggio, etc.) and their works featured in the museum. Among the highlights for us: *A very informative but also witty and humorous study comparing the depiction (and by extrapolation the characterization) of Venus painted with Cupid by two artists– Cranachi (il vecchio) and Brescianino, an eye-opening discussion about the differing regional attitudes toward women at the time *Revealing the technique but also the humanity of Caravaggio with a thorough education on the ‘Madonna dei Palafrenieri.’ Some of why the painting would have been a shocking portrayal of Mary, Jesus, and St. Anne may be obvious, but understanding all the details– Mary’s plainly visible underskirt– contemporary of the artist’s time, the wrinkled, withered portrayal of St. Anne (the Vatican chapel bearing her name being the intended destination for this work, where it was ultimately rejected), and the still-astounding use of light in darkness was extremely interesting and enriching to our experience *A 360-degree analysis of Bernini’s Baroque masterpiece Apollo and Daphne (starting with Silvia ensuring we averted our eyes to view the sculpture first from the right-hand side, as intended by the artist himself prior to the statue being moved) gave us a complete understanding of this work. Viewing the sculpture– which I had seen before but never from the vantage point encouraged by our guide– this way gives the complete story of Daphne’s encapsulation into the tree depicted here and Apollo’s (non-)reaction. When the delicately carved, paper-thin tree bark was pointed out to us, you could almost feel the heartbeat that Apollo would have felt as his hand grasped it. I appreciated the details of the windswept hair turning into leaves, which also stemmed from her hands, and the roots emanating from her foot, details I had not really fully appreciated before. I would highly recommend Eyes of Rome and specifically our guide Silvia. I cannot enumerate with words how much more I appreciated the Galleria Borghese with her expert and naturally flowing guidance and historical context. We had a fantastic time that we will not soon forget.

This tour was relatively expensive, but more than worth it! Valentina was an excellent guide and our three person family really enjoyed interacting with her. The Vatican is immense and one could spend years uncovering all of its treasures, but this was a great way to see it in 3.5 hours. Grazie Valentina for making this a highlight of our time in Rome!

This tour of the Vatican was absolutely the highlight of our entire Mediterranean two week trip. Anna Maria Barbaro was our guide and she absolutely made the experience for us. Her knowledge and wit was perfect for the entire tour. There is no way we would have enjoyed the tour as much without her. In my opinion this is the only way to see the Vatican.

Excellent experience. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and provided a very intelligent historical perspective for the tour. We avoided many of the lengthy queues and crowds. It was not cheap, but well worth it when we saw what others were going through.

Alex was an excellent guide. The morning started with a car picking us up at our Airbnb exactly at 7:45am. Our ride over was comfortable and informative. The line once we arrived was short and fast. Alex seemed to know all of the “short cuts” so we never waited. He was extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much. This was the way to go. Especially after we saw the line to get into St. Peter’s Basilica after we left. Alex took some wonderful family photos of us that we will cherish forever. He also got us tickets to the Capella Papale before we left.

We did a private tour with Rosalba while we were in Rome, and it was because of her that made our experience so informative and special. She did an amazing job with providing knowledge, history, and stories-- while also bringing her personality to the tour (which made it very engaging and entertaining). We were able to ask a lot of questions, but she was also so understanding if we just wanted to take in the scenery. I would absolutely recommend Rosalba as a tour guide for anyone who is hoping to experience Rome in a more intentional way!

Great tour and guide. Only taking a star off because tour description and reminders should emphasize: Everyone in your group needs to BRING AN ID, otherwise they won't let you into Collosseum. My adult son did not bring his, but fortunately had a phot on his phone.

Elisabetta was awesome! So full of enthusiasm and knowledge, I don't think she stopped entertaining us for a single second during the very full three-hour tour. You could spend weeks in the palace and gardens and still not see it all, so having a guide to winnow out the highlights was well worth the price. You could tell she loves what she does. And her bubbly personality made the three hours fly by - but without us feeling as though we had missed anything important. Taking a private tour makes all the difference. Highly recommended!

Both the last supper guide and Claudia our tour guide were fantastic. Both were extremely knowledgeable and did not miss a beat. They were patient with us older ladies and our tour was absolutely amazing.

We had a great time with Elisa. She was so knowledgeable and so much fun! Really crammed a LOT into a short window of time. Would highly recommend. It was expensive but that was, in part, for the driver. I was very surprised to learn we were only driven there and after the tour was over, we were on our own. No return ride. Fortunately Elisa helped us find a taxi and get home. So, the tour was very nice but it was pricey and one-way.

Amazing Tours with Eyes of Rome (second time) We visited Rome a couple of years ago - and l happed to select Eyes of Rome for some tours. I wrote a review back then - we were *super* happy with our experience. 2 years later - we were heading back - 3 of us who had been on the first trip, and one additional person. I reached out to the team at Eyes of Rome - and they immediately thanked me for coming back to them - and were able to pull up all of the details from our first visit with them. Given what we had seen before - and the fact we had one new traveler - they crafted an amazing itinerary so that our new traveler got to see everything, and for the 3 original travelers there was a new approach to some of the visits that made the second time just as much fun. During our first trip we met Marta - who was amazing. You can just tell how much she loves her country and culture - and she is so amazingly smart, and always made sure we had a great understanding an appreciation for everything we got to see. Since we knew it was going to be very warm - we broke our tours up into mornings and later in the day - giving everyone some time to rest and freshen up between the tours. On the first morning - Daniel picked us up and we met Marta near where our tour was to begin. We visited the Hypogeum (Colosseum's Underground), which we hadn't seen on our first visit to the Colosseum. We also visited the Imperial Roman Forum. Marta picked out an amazing traditional place for lunch - and we even managed to convince her to eat with us :) Daniel picked us back up in the late afternoon, and dropped us off with Azzurra for our evening food and wine tour. We walked through the charming areas of Campo de' Fiori, the Jewish Ghetto and Trastevere. Near the famous piazza of Campo de' Fiori we visited an artisan deli where we enjoyed some Roman wine paired with typical Italian delicacies from a family who has specialized in cured meats since 1890. In the Jewish Ghetto - we were able to sample the famous fried artichoke which was paired with a really wonderful bottle of Prosecco. We also stopped at a great Gelato shop before our tour was over - which was the best way to end this amazing tour! The next day - we did a nice walking tour with Marta - that included the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, the Piazza Navona, and the Trevi Fountain. Marta really made the Roman culture and history come alive! During our first trip, the Vatican and Sistine Chapel were very crowded - so the team suggested we do a late afternoon / evening visit. It was a great suggestion, and although it was still busy, it was much less crowded than our first visit. We were with Marta again - who explained so much about everything we saw. We were happy to be back. We worked with Eyes of Rome to get a ride from Rome to the cruise terminal. Luca met us promptly and we had a smooth, trouble free ride and made it to our ship without problem. Our cruise shipped docked in Pisa - but didn't have any tours that we were interested in. Luckily I found out that Eyes of Rome covers Pisa and Florence too! Tomasso met us at the cruise terminal - and was our driver for the day. He was great! Our first tour was Pisa. We met Anne Marie right near the tower. Anne Marie did an amazing job of telling us all about Pisa, the tower, and the history of both. Tomasso then drove us to Florence where we met Giada. She knew Florence like the back of her hand and was *so* excited to show us around. It was a quick visit, but we were able to visit of Accademia Gallery with Michelangelo's David which was truly amazing. We walked around Florence with Giada who explained so much about the history and the culture. She also helped us visit a typical Florentine shop for the best sandwich any of us have ever eaten in our lives! Tomasso then drove us back to our ship and made sure we arrived in plenty of time. We *loved* our second tour with Eyes of Rome - and will definitely check back with them when we return to Italy

Dorian is a PHD in archeology and she was an excellent guide. Her knowledge, her antidotes- made her superb. Just like a fun a great class with a great professor. She made what surely would have been an overwhelming tour rewarding . Do not visit the Vatican without a guide. The privileges extended to guides and their visitors is worth its money in gold- short cuts , line skips and most importantly what is an exhausting yet rewarding trip - the shared history of this magnificent not to be missed tour .

This experience was well worth the money in our opinion. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and also knew how to get us through the museum in a way that would allow us to see everything before the insane crowds of tourists rolled in. We learned so much about the history of the Vatican and the art work. If you aren’t able to see the Vatican first thing in the morning, it’s very difficult to appreciate the magnitude of the space and everything it contains. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you only plan to see the Vatican once. You won’t be disappointed!

Luigi was great! Very knowledgeable and insightful. Actually worked as an archaeologist excavating part of the ruins seen on tour. Would definitely recommend this.

Eleonora was phenomenal! She paced the tour perfectly for a family with 2 young adults (19 and 25) and 2 adults (71 and 63). We received radios to hear her better and she found spaces for us to sit and listen to her knowledge about the Vatican art away from the large crowds. Although it was the busy season, doing the 7:45 am tour was definitely the right choice rather than starting at 9 or later.

Alex did a wonderful job of keeping our kids interested and his visual aids of maps and pictures were extremely relevant and helpful. He had expansive knowledge on all things Vatican. We loved our tour.

Excellent private tour of the Vatican with our guide Francesca!! The Vatican now restricts total visitor numbers so it is absolutely essential to book your visit ahead of time, especially during peak season where people without tickets are seen queuing for hours. This private early bird tour was a perfect way to guarantee entry without having to organise your own tickets, as well as be guided through the very confusing entrance and security lines, and then the museums themselves. We booked the hotel pickup option where the driver dropped us directly in front of the main entrance with our guide - I would highly recommend this optional paid extra as the streets and footpaths outside the Vatican are very chaotic with confused tourists! Francesca was extremely knowledgable and informative, spoke excellent English, and tailored the tour well to suit the interests of everyone in our family of four. She guided us seamlessly through the Vatican museums, the Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica - we didn't actually appreciate just how well she did this until afterwards when we compared our visit with others who'd booked their own entry tickets online who explained to us that they had been unable to find certain exhibits due to the confusing museum layout, queued for an hour to get into the Sistine Chapel, and then ran out of time to climb the stairs of the Dome of St Peter's. The sheer scale, enormity and layout of the Vatican combined with the crowds is overwhelming, but Francesca made the experience extremely enjoyable and stress free, providing insight and background into all the amazing artworks we viewed, as well as the history behind the Vatican itself. This tour is hands-down the best way to get the most out of your visit and ensure you don't miss things you want to see! Excellent private tour of the Vatican with our guide Francesca!! The Vatican now restricts total visitor numbers so it is absolutely essential to book your visit ahead of time, especially during peak season where people without tickets are seen queuing for hours. This private early bird tour was a perfect way to guarantee entry without having to organise your own tickets, as well as be guided through the very confusing entrance and security lines, and then the museums themselves. We booked the hotel pickup option where the driver dropped us directly in front of the main entrance with our guide - I would highly recommend this optional paid extra as the streets and footpaths outside the Vatican are very chaotic with confused tourists! Francesca was extremely knowledgable and informative, spoke excellent English, and tailored the tour well to suit the interests of everyone in our family of four. She guided us seamlessly through the Vatican museums, the Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica - we didn't actually appreciate just how well she did this until afterwards when we compared our visit with others who'd booked their own entry tickets online who explained to us that they had been unable to find certain exhibits due to the confusing museum layout, queued for an hour to get into the Sistine Chapel, and then ran out of time to climb the stairs of the Dome of St Peter's. The sheer scale, enormity and layout of the Vatican combined with the crowds is overwhelming, but Francesca made the experience extremely enjoyable and stress free, providing insight and background into all the amazing artworks we viewed, as well as the history behind the Vatican itself. This tour is hands-down the best way to get the most out of your visit and ensure you don't miss things you want to see! We absolutely loved this day at the winery then the restaurant making pasta!! By far, this was the most fun we had in Italy! We had toured for several days and were pretty tired, so our last day in Italy is when when we scheduled this tour and it was definitely the icing on the cake for our time in Italy! First, we had a great driver and we started at the winery - it was so beautiful! We received a nice (short) tour of the facility, where we learned about their wine and olive oil. A family member of the winery, Luka, took time to show us everything and then we were escorted to a beautiful table where we were able to sample several wines with hors d’oeuvres. He brought them out one at a time. It was lovely and so much fun! We ordered olive oil (terrific) and wine (wonderful) to be delivered to our house. Then we drove about 8 min away to the restaurant where we had our pasta making class. Chef Antonio and his team were AMAZING!! We had a blast and actually learned how to make pasta. Chef Antonio was hilarious and really made the process fun. The pasta tasted soooo good too! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who would like to learn about Italian wine and pasta and have fun too!! We LOVED it!! Thanks to Luka and Chef Antonio - we love you guys!! The Colosseum is such an amazing place. Maria made centuries old history come to life. There is so about those times in Ancient Rome much I’ve never known. Although my husband and I walk 4 miles a day, we wanted to conserve our steps so we could be active for the entire day, even after the tour. Maria was wonderful. She knew every nook and cranny and got us to all available elevators with no wait! You will learn so much in a fun way and be surprised by many things you never knew. I only had 1 day to explore Rome so I booked the best - Eyes of Rome through Viator. When the nice black sedan picked us up at our Airbnb, our guide was sitting shotgun and started telling us about Rome immediately. The tour was supposed to be only Vatican-specific, but I felt we got a big bonus having a knowledgeable guide with us while the car moved from one part of town to the other. Eyes of Rome, golf cart tour was amazing! It was a perfect thing to go everywhere and see everything in Rome. Our guide Marco was absolutely amazing with a wealth of knowledge, a great personality and sense of humor. He showed us hidden gems as well as all of the spots that you want to see In-depth. He told us great stories of the city, and all the sites as well. Gave us great tips for the rest of our stay in room also. Our driver, Eduardo was also extremely nice and very knowledgeable as well. They drove us all over the entire city, all the way up to the mountain of Gianicolo hill. It was an amazing view up there. This is absolutely the best way to see Rome! Our guide, Silvia, was fantastic! Her tour of the Colosseum was very interesting and she happily and easily answered all of our questions. I wish I could give this tour 5 stars, but, through no fault at all of this company, I cannot look back on this day and call it “Excellent”. As we were leaving the Colosseum to head to the Forum, a member of our group experienced a medical emergency. Silvia very quickly alerted security and called for an ambulance. She then stayed as long as she could to act as translator. The driver was very prompt to pick us up before the tour, and was very patient at end, eventually returning 4 of us to our accommodations. Silvia was honestly concerned about us, and continued communications into the evening and the next day, making sure we were all okay. She absolutely went above and beyond and I highly recommend this tour.

We booked the Vatican Museums Early Morning Prime Tour: VIP Entrance. We were picked up at our hotel by our guide, Elisa and a private driver which was a nice change from hustling across the city. From the start, our guide Elisa was SO kind, approachable and extremely knowledgeable. She really took the time to explain the paintings and sculptures in a way that was exciting and interesting - there were so many hidden gems within the frescoes of Sistine Chapel, it would be easy to miss them all if it were not for Elisa explaining them and calling them out. She made the tour for us and the experience was top notch!!!

Dennis (our tour) guide was supremely knowledgable about the entire Vatican and literally an expert on the priceless Art. The early bird lower crowds also made for a very pleasant experience.

We were picked up at our hotel and taken directly to the Colosseum. As soon as we exited the vehicle we were immediately greeted by our expert guide, Rafaella. I cannot properly describe how amazing she was throughout the entire tour. A gifted guide that left my entire family talking for days about how amazing this tour was. My Father is hard-of-hearing and Rafaella is the only tour guide that he could properly follow at every step of the tour. She is a natural speaker and a kind teacher. I must now include a very unique above-and-beyond moment that we experienced with this group. At the end of the tour, we asked to get a picture with our guide, so the driver stepped up to take the pic. So awesome! He then offered to take us anywhere we wanted, really...but we just wanted to go back to our hotel at that point. While driving us back, he was telling us all about the city as we went. I asked him for a recommendation for a restaurant in the area. He gave us a great reco and then dropped us off at our hotel. My family then walked to eat at his recommended restaurant where I received a phone call that someone in my family had forgotten their sweater in his car. He drove the sweater back to me at the restaurant and handed it to me! Much respect for this group of people, everyone from the drivers to the tour guide, Rafaella. I cannot give more praise. 5 Stars.

This was my second time taking this exact tour, and this time unfortunately felt very rushed, we couldn’t even keep up with our guide sometimes… Also, the price of this tour did increase by $200 from last year (Aug ‘22) it’s a little pricey now for what you get imho. Note - recommend checking your tour date for St. Peter’s Basilica closures online PRIOR to booking, although it can close unexpectedly, there are specific months/timeframes that are known closures

Recently traveled with family to Rome and arranged for some tours through Eyes of Rome. Can't say enough good things about them. I've taken tours of the Vatican and Colosseum/Forum previously but this was a whole new level of experience. I booked the Vatican Museums Early Morning Prime Tour: VIP Entrance and the Crypt of the Popes and Dennis was our guide. If you have the chance to book this tour ask for Dennis, he was fantastic and it is worth doing the early morning VIP tour. Even if you get a private tour and skip the lines tour it's not the same. The early morning VIP tour is much more peaceful and enjoyable experience, especially with the right tour guide. Another day we booked the Colosseum, Underground & Roman Forum Tour with Elisa as our guide. She was so enthusiastic and knowledgable she truly made the experience a special one. Definitely try to get the underground portion of the tour. It's well worth being down there and seeing engineering and thought that went into the building of the Colosseum. Thanks again to Eyes of Rome for two very special experiences.

We did two Private Tours with Marta who was a very warm and incredibly knowledgable guide. We did both the Vatican Early Morning Tour and the next day we did The Colosseum/Roman Forum Tour. Both were absolutely wonderful and filled with so many "Wow" moments as we learned the incredible history of these ancient sites. I feel like there wasn't anything Marta didn't know about the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. We had kids aged 10 and 8, and Marta was able to explain things in a way to be interesting and understandble to all ages. I believe both tours represented excellent value. We debated doing a Small Group tour vs Private because of cost, but I am very glad we went with Private. When it got a bit hot, or the kids got a bit tired, we had the flexibility to stop for a rest and a drink, we didn't have to compete with others to ask questions, and we went at our own pace. We had a very limited amount of time in Rome, and the tours were an excellent use of that time. Marta met us at our hotel and we were driven to the start of the tours. There is no way we would have learned so much doing a big group tour or an audio tour. This is the way to do it if you can! We hope to come back to Italy, and our first stop will be another Eyes of Rome Tour, and perhaps the some of the other Italian cities that they tour.

The tour was made that much more memorable by our tour guide Francesca who was truly passionate about providing a very enjoyable tour with her knowledge of art history, archeology, and Rome She was friendly and patiently took the time to make sure we got the best out of the tor. Our wonderful tour guide Azurra was smart, considerate, patient and extremely knowledgeable. She took us on an incredible 3-hour tour of the key sites of the Vatican, including the Sistine Chapel and the Basilica. She explained the work of Michelangelo before we went in, which was extremely helpful. She was also patient when we thought we had lost one of our kids! She also waited while we all prayed inside one of the chapels. Afterward, she recommended a delicious restaurant- Emma - which was a short walk away. It was a delicious lunch and one of our favorites in Rome! Try the Aperol Spritz!

This tour was absolutely incredible. I questioned the price at first, but after seeing the long lines to get in plus the large groups all trying to keep track of someone with a flag on an umbrella, I was happy we did a private Vatican tour. We had a 17 month old baby in a stroller and a 66 year celebrating her birthday, so we needed the flexibility to make stops or rest on multiple occasions. Our guide Tania was phenomenal and even helped carry the stroller up and down stairs. I would highly recommend this tour!!

The Sistine Chapel is worth it all. Our guide, Emmanuel, was exceptional. Very personable and again another “small tour” where it ended up being just us. Unbelievable our guide navigated the entire process for us, explained in amazing detail the history and significance of what we were seeing. Plus we got pick up and drop off which was a treat considering how warm and exhausted we were.

Francesca was absolutely amazing! A fountain of knowledge about all things Rome, she expertly guided us through the throngs of people, sharing fascinating facts about the Colosseum and Forum. It was a particularly hot day, so she skillfully maneuvered us to shady spots and places where we could rehydrate. 10 out of 10, and we won’t hesitate to book her again on a future visit!

Our guide Manuela was the best. She was such a pro and so kind to us. The details she provided us would have surely been missed had we visited on our own. As a group of four she was able to guide us around much larger groups to get up close to the sights for a better experience.

Visiting the Vatican is truly a life experience. With the crowds being so immensely large taking this private tour is the best way to see this treasure. Our guide, Rachel, was personable and provided us with information we would not have gotten in a group tour or on our own. She ensured that we knew the history of what we were seeing, and made sure that we didn't miss any of the significant pieces in the museum or elements of the Sistine Chapel. Her knowledge was beyond impressive. This is by far the only way to truly see the Vatican. Well worth every penny.

We had an amazing tour with Francesca! When you see the length of the regular Vatican entry line (in the hot summer sun), that alone is reason to pay for early entry! It also helps that you have your own private guide to really help explain the art/history and point things out that otherwise we would have completely missed. We compared our photos of the museum hallways to a friend who was there with a group just 2 hours later and the difference was stark! We had total freedom to move around, get close to the art, take photos, etc. I highly recommend this tour if you can swing it for an amazing experience.

My wife and I chose the luxury option of pickup before the tour and drop off after. It was just the two of us and our guide Ella. She was fantastic and knew so much about the Vatican, the Vatican Museum, The Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s. The date of our visit was 5/25. Understand that even though it’s an “early bird” there will still be throngs of people in the Sistine Chapel and the museum. Our concierge told us that would be the case before we left and he was correct. The comments from others stating that they found few people is not what we experienced. The Sistine Chapel was packed completely. If not for Ella, we would not have been able to navigate it easily. It was pretty much the same experience in the Basilica - too crowded to easily get close to The Pieta - although we did it after about 10 minutes. In conversation with other tour guides, they said that the crowds increase and peak at 11:00 so we likely did benefit from the early start. Also understand that we felt the “one on one” interaction was very valuable for us. This was our first time so we wanted to be taught and led by the hand. Mission accomplished for us. I would recommend this - but it is expensive compared to other tours so you need to feel comfortable that the value is from the very good care they take of you and the one to one conversation.

Alessandro was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. He was very flexible with a large group and accommodating to my elderly father in a wheel chair. He made us feel like VIPs. This was the best tour we took in Rome because of Alessandro.

This is a must visit while in Rome. As an art lover, this was absolutely spectacular. The lines were insane and must've taken hours to get through. With this skip the line tour, we were picked up at our hotel and waited for 10-15 minutes to start our journey through the Vatican museum and St. Peter's Basilica. Our guide Camilla was wonderful. It was obvious that she loved the Vatican museum and really enjoyed talking about the wonders inside. One small complaint was that we feel like we missed seeing somethings because of the time allotted for the tour. I feel the splurge was worth it after days of walking throughout Italy.

Rosy did a great job explaining everything. Definitely recommend the early bird tour as is it less crowded. We were there on Good Friday 2023 and yet the early crowd was limited.

We did a 3-hour classic Vatican tour in the afternoon with our wonderful guide Elisa. We were picked up in a Mercedes van at our hotel on time and met Elisa right outside Vatican. Elisa was a great guide to have given her education in and knowledge of art history and her ability to engage all of us with relevant information including our 12 years old daughter. She took time before the start of the tour to explain intricate details of the fresco and other art works on her iPad so that while being physically present inside, we could focus more on admiring the masterpieces. Logistically too it was amazing to have her with us, as we managed to access several skip-the-line access points. We did the tour on the eve of Good Friday and the regular lines outside the Vatican as well as other venues inside were truly frightening.

Ellie was awesome, she was very patient with my dad who has mobility issues. We learned a lot about the colosseum and its history. Private tour is perfect if you have someone in the group who won’t be able to keep up with a tour group.

We met with our guide Eleonora and our driver in the hotel lobby and were driven to the entrance of the Vatican museum... there was already very many people standing in queue to get in - and I thought that this would take a long time - but Eleonora took us through a separate entrance and we entered before everyone else .... lovely... Eleonora made it a very special experience for my wife, my brother and his wife and my self... it was obvious that Eleonora knew everything we wnated to ask about and much more .... it was an outstanding experience.... and the group was only us 4 and the guide and that was really treat for us - Eleonora was really perfect and very attentive to our needs during the time we spent with her... at the end of the tour there was a driver and a car waiting to take us back to the hotel - we asked to be dropped of in the city-center instead ... no problem very recommendable - and well worth the price

Our guide Elisa was knowledgeable, fun and entertaining! We had a great time exploring the Colosseum and its arena. She really made the history come to life when describing what a typical Roman day at the Colosseum was like for all those who attended, from the wealthy aristocrats and politicians down to the peasants. Our 12 year old son and daughter who's in college were riveted with the information and loved Elisa's humor, wit and personality. After covering the Colosseum we headed to the Roman Forum and the made our way through triumphant arches and amazing temples. From the moment the van picked us up at the hotel until we were dropped off we had an absolutely fantastic time. Silvia greeted us like we were old friends. She was very professional and very fun. Early morning tour of the Vatican is very worth it if you can splurge for the tour. Maximo our driver was an absolute delight and Marco our tour guide was fantastic. We definitely felt secluded from the other groups and felt that the information was personalized. This was my second tour of the Vatican and this tour can’t be beat ever. Very good time of day. Missed all the crowds. We had time to look at what we came for. Managed to get some really good pictures. Our guide Allexsandro was excellent. Very informative took pictures of us and guided us through things we definitely would have walked past without him. Highly recommend doing this as you get picked up dropped off and would not realise what it is you’re looking at or where things are. The whole thing was fascinating and amazing.

Our private tour with Denis was undisputedly the best of the five other tours we took while in Rome. We requested three hours to see the Baths of Caracalla, the Palantine Hill and the Forum. We started early in the morning at the Baths and were virtually the only ones there for the first hour. It was magical! This place is not to be missed. Denis speaks excellent English, and is extremely knowlegable about art history and archeology. He is also very personable with an excellent sense of humor. He balanced just the right amount of historical information with memorable anecdotes, continually pointing out things we would have missed if on our own. He answered all our questions willingly with expertise. And when he discovered I was interested in horticulture, he made a point to show me unusual local plants! In short, we felt not only well cared for throughout the tour - he patiently adjusted his walking pace to ours - but also privileged to see Rome through his eyes. We learned so much and cannot recommend him highly enough. We hope to book him again in the future. We would also like to commend the excellent responses provided by Sara at Eyes of Rome to all our communications prior to our trip, as well as the drivers who picked us up at the hotel for every tour (we did three with Eyes of Rome). These tours are not inexpensive, but we feel they were worth every cent. The guides are real pros and the entire experience is streamlined to make it very easy, especially for older clients like us who do not speak Italian. Highly, highly recommend.

Denis made the most of our 3-hour tour. He is extremely engaging, dynamic, knowledgeable and funny. He felt like an old friend and our 3-hour tour passed by so quickly. We would love to see Denis on a future trip to Rome.

This was for my wife, but OH MY GOSH was I OVERWELMED!!! We were picked up by a private car and whisked to the tour operator. Fredrico was our guide who was also an archeologist. He was very kind, patient, and so VERY knowledgeable!!! JUst one example was in the tapestry when I asked why there were 2 of Italy. He smiled and explained that one was in Italian and one was in LATIN. WOW!!! It was like that the whole trip and you will be overloaded by EVERYTHING that you see. It is just IMPOSSIBLE to believe all of the paintings, sculptures, and tapestries could look as they do from so long ago. The statues even had "Muscle Definition" they were so accurate. I will go again without the camera next time just to immerse myself in the Vatican. When we got outside Fredrico told us this was then end of tour and we thanked him and told him "What a TREASURE he is to people like us. That set him back. He left, went went to the gift shop, and then just sat outside to take it all in. We will go back as it is overwhelming and we want to be overwhelmed AGAIN!!! :)

I can't recommend this tour, this tour company, and specifically Marco enough. This was the trip of lifetime for my wife and I's anniversary and our 2 tours with Eyes of Rome are easily a huge highlight. This tour was with Marco...he's a walking Encyclopedia. Archeologist, story teller, genuinely seems to enjoy leading these tours. If you come to Rome, splurge on a half day private tour. You won't regret it! Thank you Marco!!

St. Peter’s Basilica is staggeringly beautiful, and the opportunity to see areas of the museums off limits to most tourists was well worth the modest added cost. Overall, this private tour was beyond any expectation… and having a lovely and brilliant guide like Azzurra made all the difference. Strongly recommend!

She knows the flow of the crowds and when to see what area to optimize your time while when possible, avoiding crowds. We spent three hours with the brilliant Gianluca touring the Colosseum and Forum. It was fab. My teenage sons are quite shy and were quiet but they have since said that it was the best part of our trip to Rome. We all learned so much beyond the familiar facts and came away with a clear idea of how ancient Rome and its buildings, monuments and people developed over time. It was good fun, absorbing and Gianluca was a fantastic guide. It was a luxury to have a private guide but I think actually good value because of how much we all benefited compared to the very large groups touring alongside us. On our next visit to Rome we would definitely seek out this company again.

Our absolute favorite part of our tour was our private guide, Rosie (Rosabela). We took many tours over our 10 days in Italy and we would book another Eyes of Rome tour in a second if we could have Rosie again. In fact, on our next trip, we'd like to book Rosie for a full day-anywhere! Not only was she extremely knowledgeable and personable but she bent over backwards to make our tour spectacular-in every way. My husband needed to carry a portable chair with us...Rosie made it happen. We needed breaks, no problem. We went over our time slot, no problem. She was able to put all the art and sites into context for us. Her enthusiasm was refreshing-many of our other guides seemed slightly bored. We loved every bit of our experience and can't recommend Rosie enough.

Our tour guide, Rosalba Cilione, was amazing. She was on time and knew the routes of entry that were efficient. Once inside, she navigated the tour in such a way that allowed plenty of time of listening/learning and seeing/experiencing. She brought a book that allowed us to understand what we were going to see before we saw it which was very helpful. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history and art of the Vatican as well as the current happenings. The private tour gave us a chance to the pace the tour to our needs and ask the questions that interested us. This was a quality experience that we highly recommend.

My husband and I had the great pleasure of having Andrade for our private tour guide of the Vatican. She was the absolute best, we learned so much with the wealth of information she shared. Andrade was lovely, calm, knowledgeable and engaging. We really appreciated our time with her and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. Andrade knew exactly where to go and got us quickly through the lines. The driver that works with Andrade was also fabulous!

I took a private tour for Colosseum and Roman forum lasting 3 hours and paid 320euros. My guide Mierta was cheerful and very knowledgable giving me snippets into the Roman past as we first did Roman Forum and then visited Colosseum (ground and upper levels). Thanks to her I knew my way around both these famous landmarks. She is a delightful young lady with ever ready smile and is ready for any questions. I throughly enjoyed the tour but would have liked to see Palatine Hill more closely.

Eleonora is amazing!!! During my time in Rome, I had a full-day tour with Eleonora, which was the highlight of my vacation in Italy. As a first-time solo traveler, I was nervous about having a tour alone, but Eleonora eased that concern immediately. We had a wonderful time exploring the Vatican Museums and Colosseum. Eleonora is highly knowledgeable about the symbolism of the various artworks in the Vatican Museums and their significance in history. We just finished a full day of touring Rome, and we can't stop smiling all thanks to Alessandro. We never dreamed we'd be touring the eternal city with a real-life archaeologist who had first-hand experience excavating the ancient ruins. Nothing cooler than that! We had limited time in Rome, so we chose to do 2 yours in one day. We did the 'Vatican Museums Early Morning Prime Tour: VIP Entrance' + the 'Colosseum & Roman Forum Tour' in the afternoon. Initially, we were worried we might get tired/bored after doing 2 full tours in one day. Quite the opposite! Alessandro was the most entertaining, hilarious, charming, charismatic AND knowledgeable tour guide we could've ever dreamed of having. He had us laughing from early morning till the end of the day, all the while giving us a PhD level education in Roman history. He really has a passion for Roman history and it shows! His heart is as big as his smile. If you don't book a tour with Alessandro, you'd be missing out on the best day with one of the jewels of Rome. We had an brilliant day with our private tour guide Eleonora, a highlight of our trip to Rome. We were picked up and dropped back at our hotel, we visited the Vatican in the morning, a fantastic lunch we'd have never tried if we were on our own and the Forum and Colosseum in the afternoon. So-much information that you'd never have access to otherwise and would have missed so many interesting things. Thank you Ellie!

The Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica were absolutely a joy to tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The pick up and drop off at our hotel was seamless and made the trip very easy. Our guide provided great narration of all the art pieces and various places throughout the tour. He also pointed out some great spots to take pictures. Highly recommended!

We opted for the transport roundtrip and the top of the Basilica. The transport was on time and efficient. An Uber might have worked just as well and might have been better for us as we could have stayed longer at the end. Our guide was easy to find, efficient, and enthusiastic. We were a tough crowd with two teenagers and my father who is more of fantasy sports guy. She did a great job; and the shock and awe of the whole place was more than enough for all. I had done a Vatican tour on a prior trip and this tour definitely had more sculpture than the prior tour which as I recall had been almost exclusively paintings. I think this was a better tour. This was July 19th. It was crowded and "skip the line" is of extreme value. I don't know how anyone could do the Vatican without a guide. I really prefer small/private tours and this one was indeed our group of six only. The trip to the top of the basilica was a highlight for me and an experience I will always cherish. I had no issue but my parents are in their seventies and did have to stop to rest three times, the guide was attentive and understanding. None of us are "big people" but beware if you are, that last spiral staircase is tight. I recommend any "big people" or claustrophobics look at a youtube video of this climb before signing on. Because of the relatively long wait for the Basilica climb (July in Rome is very crowded with tourists) and my parents rest stops on the climb we had basically no time in St. Peter's before our transport. I kind of wish we had taken care of transport on our own so we could have decided when to leave. Our group consisted of me, my wife, two teenagers, and my parents in their 70's, All six of us put this tour in the top three experiences of our two week three city tour of Europe.

Eyes of Tome also coordinated are transfers from the airport and the the cruise port. Our guide, Marta, was excellent, clearly loves Rome, and is truly gifted at her craft. Marta was extremely knowledgeable about Rome and it's vast history, very accommodating of our group of 13, with a wide range of ages with three generations of family, and extremely friendly. Our group came away from our two days of touring with a great sense of Rome's history and made memories to last a lifetime, all thanks to the expert guiding of Marta. I can't recommend Marta, Sara, and Eyes of Rome enough for custom private touring in Rome.

Marta greeted us at our hotel and every moment was a joy. She was informative and had a great way of relaying it to the entire family. Tour was well planned and flowed nicely. Wasn’t too long and she always found a spot to stop and rest our son’s legs when he asked. She left us at a perfect gelato spot with a list of her favorite restaurants. Should we come back we would do this tour again without any doubt. Request Marta - we would have her for every tour if we could!

I would have given this 5 stars because our guide, Alessandro was amazing but the driver was a half hour late picking us up at the hotel. Our entry to the colosseum was timed and we had to rush a little to make it on time. That wasn’t Alessandro’s fault and he definitely gave us a 5 star tour! He was a former archaeologist and gave us a lot of information and was very friendly! Alessandro saved the experience!

In 2 weeks touring central/northern Italy, the tour of Castel Gandolfo with Denis was easily the most spectacular. And not just because of the unique and recent opportunity to tour Castel Gandolfo and its gardens privately and by golf cart, but because of the fantastic transportation from Massimo, and the delightful tasting menu that followed the tour -- the best we had. Denis was as widely knowledgeable about all things Castel Gandolfo, as he was helpful and outgoing. I would consider myself lucky to have such a pleasant tour and guide again.

Paola is a certified tour guide. We paid for the luxury tour that’s what we received. Daniel picked us up from our hotel and safely drove us to the Colosseum. Paola pointed out all the interesting spots filled with facts and recommended a great cafe for lunch after our tour.

The reason we rated the tour 5 stars was for Azzurra. Absolutely charming, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and a joy to be with. My son is an avid Roman history buff so this tour hit all the important sites. The real surprise was the additional tour of San Clemente Church. Do not miss it. Again, Azzurra brought it all to life and made a remarkable impression on all of us.

We visited Rome in May, 2022. We had intended to do a 'set' tour, focused on sites from the book, Angels and Demons, by Dan Brown. We called the tour provider, Eyes of Rome, and learned the tour included 3.5 hours of walking. Too much for our group! We worked with Sara, at Eyes of Rome, and created a tour with driver + guide that included all reqiested sites of interest. Perfect! Our guide and driver, Azurre ('Blu') and Peter, were absolutely great! Azurre was both informative and entertaining, providing extensive historical facts and fun side stories. She was very attentive and responsive to the group and quickly established great rapport with us. Peter knew every shortcut to get us close to the sites and was always close at hand to pick us up again. A wonderful day!

Katie was an EXCELLENT guide for our tour of Ancient Rome (Colosseum & Ruins)! Personally, she’s just delightful and super chill. Sometimes, on a tour, you feel like you’re sticking out like a sore thumb, not so with Katie! In fact, it felt a lot like simply walking around with a friend who just happens to be an expert on ancient Rome! On that note, she is extremely knowledgeable and shared her knowledge in a casual way versus droning on about every obscure historical fact about every statue and ruin (like some tour guides do). My wife and I were both incredibly impressed with Katie and I cannot imagine a better guide. In fact, we tried our best to do another tour (the catacombs) with her but unfortunately, did not have the time ☹. However, we are referring Katie to all our friends and family traveling to Rome in the future. Request Katie specifically – you will be VERY happy you did!

We had a wonderful time today touring the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s with Elisa. I can’t imagine trying to do see all we did in a large group. The tour was tailored to our interests and Elisa was so knowledgeable every step of the way. She also has a lovely sense of humor. I have been in the travel industry for over 30 years and I have to say this was one of the best tour companies I have ever worked with! Our guide, Elisa, was extremely knowledgable, friendly, and very outgoing, and made the entire day fun for our family! I can't say enough good things - she is one-of-a-kind! We were lucky enough to also have Elisa for a local food tour (will do a separate review as it was also 10/10) and can't wait to go back!

Azzurra, our guide, is fabulous. She is a true professional and lover of history. Our small group of 6 was enthralled with the sights and her expertise in guiding us through each part of the tour made it more interesting. Since it was the Saturday before Easter we weren’t able to see the Basilica (the pope had reserved it), but she made up for it with her storytelling. Our tour included pick up and drop off at our hotel and that was definitely worth it! We highly recommend this tour, and Azzurra!

Elisa was a wonderful guide for the day. She walked us through the forum and the Colosseum while sharing her knowledge and making it fun for the kids. I love the fact that she brought marbles with her for us to play a game that kids used to play in the forum. Our kids still talk about how neat that was.

We had a very positive experience with this tour. Pick up was flawless and the driver pointed out some sights on the way to the Colosseum. He handed us directly to our tour guide Marta who whisked us through the crowds quickly. Marta really knew absolutely everything there can possibly be to know about the Colosseum. She answered our questions, separated fact and fiction, and shared clear pictures of what a day at the games might be like. We then went to the Forum and learned more of the history of Ancient Rome. A word to those planning, the half day is full of information, and those of us who aren’t full history buffs weren’t as enthralled by the Forum as we were by the Colosseum. By the end, we were ready for lunch and a rest. If you are a large diverse age group like us, don’t plan another event on the day you do this tour.

We had the most amazing tour visiting some of Rome’s famous places with our tour guide Alessandro. We started off our tour at the famous Colosseum and although we have visited the Colosseum many times before we have never fully appreciated the rich history of the Colosseum until our tour with Alessandro. Alessandro wealth of knowledge was amazing, because not only did he know so many interesting things about the Colosseum he brought along with him his personal experience as an archaeologist. Which was so fascinating, both our children aged 16 and 10 were utterly engaged with the information and wide knowledge shared by Alessandro like the fact it took just 5 years to build the Colosseum something we never knew and had always believed that it must have taken so much longer. Alessandro was enthusiastic and we felt his enthusiasm as he shared more knowledge with us and it made the difference because he was not just a tour guide paid to give us a private tour he actually loves what he does and it made the difference, he made sure my 10 year son was involved in our tour by making him feel what it must have been like to a Rome emperor he gave our son the name Emperor Rocco which our son fully embraced. After our tour of the Colosseum Alessandro took us off the beaten track and showed us some of Rome’s hidden gems which we really enjoyed like sioi societa’ italiana , Sant’ Eustachio and Monti to name a few ( the ones I can remember). In addition he took us to one of the first public notices in Rome which was a public notice for owners of guest houses informing the owners that they needed to inform the authorities of any guests that were ill to stop the spread of any disease, he also showed us another plaque a public notice letting citizens know that they would be a fine for anyone caught littering. It was so interesting, as well as taking us down the amazing side streets of Rome, Alessandro tested us on our Roman Numerals which was so much fun I’m happy to report my children passed with flying colours - true Romans! At the end of our tour Alessandro took us to another hidden gem for lunch and I have to say it was probably the best lunch we have had, as Alessandro said to us to enjoy food in Rome you have to go where the locals go and not where the tourists go! We had the most amazing time with Alessandro and honestly we didn’t want the tour to end, I would highly recommend using this tour company and if possible make sure you book Alessandro you will not be disappointed. We booked the “Private Borghese Gallery Tour with Hotel Pick-up and Drop-off” from Eyes of Rome on October 21, before the Omicron variant placed our present trip to Rome very much up in the air. Happily we were able to make it to Rome and to experience this wonderful, personalized tour of what I think is the greatest collection of treasures in Rome on December 26. We were picked up on-time at our hotel by the tour’s driver who was well-informed and effective with regard to the current COVID protocols, helping us to ensure we had the appropriate type of mask required and our physical vaccination proof (we had assumed digital versions would suffice, but this is not currently the case in Rome or at least not for the Villa Borghese). Another tour operator probably wouldn’t have checked for these items and we would have missed the entire experience. We were dropped off at the Villa Borghese and met immediately by our personal guide, Silvia, who greeted us warmly and immediately started setting the context of what we were about to see with the history of the Aurelian wall, Roman life in the 1600s, and the concept of the “villa suburbana,” all of which is quite necessary for a full appreciation of the wonder that is the Galleria Borghese. She explained to us the relation of the Galleria’s founder Cardinal Scipione Borghese and his position as the Cardinal Nephew to Pope Paul V, which gave him political power over the Papal States. Silvia told us of the original plan of the gardens and the vivarium, which housed species from all over the world- plants and birds respectively, which was foundational to understanding the art collection to come. For context, I have twice visited the Galleria Borghese in 1996 and 2010, but it was my husband’s first visit to the Galleria and, in fact, to Rome. Our tour impressed, entertained, and satiated the curiosity of both of us equally– not an easy feat, for sure. We appreciated that Silvia structured the tour as much as possible as the Galleria was meant to be experienced (unwinding, if philosophically, the changes to the sequence of rooms necessitated by current COVID protocols). Silvia was knowledgeable, personable, funny, and very well-versed in the history of the Borghese family, the Papacy as related to it, and the artists (Bernini, Carvaggio, etc.) and their works featured in the museum. Among the highlights for us: *A very informative but also witty and humorous study comparing the depiction (and by extrapolation the characterization) of Venus painted with Cupid by two artists– Cranachi (il vecchio) and Brescianino, an eye-opening discussion about the differing regional attitudes toward women at the time *Revealing the technique but also the humanity of Caravaggio with a thorough education on the ‘Madonna dei Palafrenieri.’ Some of why the painting would have been a shocking portrayal of Mary, Jesus, and St. Anne may be obvious, but understanding all the details– Mary’s plainly visible underskirt– contemporary of the artist’s time, the wrinkled, withered portrayal of St. Anne (the Vatican chapel bearing her name being the intended destination for this work, where it was ultimately rejected), and the still-astounding use of light in darkness was extremely interesting and enriching to our experience *A 360-degree analysis of Bernini’s Baroque masterpiece Apollo and Daphne (starting with Silvia ensuring we averted our eyes to view the sculpture first from the right-hand side, as intended by the artist himself prior to the statue being moved) gave us a complete understanding of this work. Viewing the sculpture– which I had seen before but never from the vantage point encouraged by our guide– this way gives the complete story of Daphne’s encapsulation into the tree depicted here and Apollo’s (non-)reaction. When the delicately carved, paper-thin tree bark was pointed out to us, you could almost feel the heartbeat that Apollo would have felt as his hand grasped it. I appreciated the details of the windswept hair turning into leaves, which also stemmed from her hands, and the roots emanating from her foot, details I had not really fully appreciated before. I would highly recommend Eyes of Rome and specifically our guide Silvia. I cannot enumerate with words how much more I appreciated the Galleria Borghese with her expert and naturally flowing guidance and historical context. We had a fantastic time that we will not soon forget.

A great experience! Our guide Gianluca did an amazing job showing us the highlights of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter. Getting to go into a normally closed area where we were the only visitors was an absolute highlight of our entire trip! Gianluca was knowledge, informative and fun. He was also flexible, letting us spend time where we wanted. I would absolutely recommend him and Eyes of Rome.

We first contacted Eyes of Rome in 2019 when we began planning our 2020 trip to Italy and wanted to have professional, certified guides for our tours of Rome. From the beginning, communication via email was easy, replies were prompt and proposed itineraries worked well with our schedule. With a teenager and tween in tow, we wanted early morning or late evening tours to avoid the Italian summer heat and Vacation crowds, and Eyes of Rome was happy to help. Our hotel was located on Monte Mario, a bit further from Ancient Rome, and Eyes of Rome coordinated transportation to all three of our tours. When we had to reschedule our trip for 2021, Eyes of Rome applied our deposit to our new itinerary without issue and was very accommodating helping us reschedule. Massimo was our driver for all three tours, greeting us our first morning in Rome with a friendly face and a comfortable, air conditioned Mercedes van. He provided interesting and fun information about the neighborhoods we passed through along the way to our destinations, including a stop at Fontana dell'Acqua Paola for a photo op. Denis guided us on our Saturday morning tour of the Forum and Colosseum; he helped bring to life Ancient Rome through stories and pictures he carried in a book. Denis provided just the right amount of history while keeping a nice pace through the Forum and Colosseum, and taking us to fantastic family picture spots. At the end of the tour, while filling our water bottles just outside the Colosseum and willing the online reservation system to work on my mobile, Denis offered to help by calling the restaurant to secure our lunch reservations. So nice! Marta was our guide on our Sunday evening walking tour of the sites, as well as our morning tour of Vatican city. We first met Marta at a very interesting ancient site beneath Capitoline Hill and she immediately held our attention with the history and stories she told. Although our teenager was less than enthusiastic about the evening’s itinerary, she begrudgingly admitted to enjoying the tour. We met Marta for our final tour of Vatican city early Tuesday morning. Though rules prohibit our guide speaking to us in the Basilica, Marta pointed out things we should be sure to see before entering, and answered our questions immediately after. Unfortunately, the short cut from the Vatican Museums to the Basilica is closed due to the pandemic. After the long walk up the hill and entering the museum, Marta escorted us to a beautiful terrace where, with the aid of her iPad, she walked us through details we would soon see. She prepared us in advance for our time inside the Sistine Chapel with backstories and details to focus on, given the rule of silence while inside the chapel. Our girls faded quickly and Marta adjusted the itinerary so as not to draw out the morning. She helped us navigate quickly to the sites we wanted to see, and avoided unnecessary delays. Our Eyes of Rome guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They helped make our trip excellent.

First time visit to Rome and wanted that little bit extra so our hotel booked a private tour quite to the Colosseum and Forum. Our guide “Alessandro” was already sitting in the hotel foyer waiting for us. I won’t explain about the tour, that would spoil it if you never visited Rome. I will tell you about Alessandro though. As I’ve already explained he was punctual which is good. He introduced himself, explained what our 3 hour tour would entail then went on to tell us he’s a vastly experienced archeologist and is passionate about his work. He’s very easy to get on with and very laid back. Alessandro ensured the tour was at our pace and always made sure we were okay and well looked after. His knowledge of the history of Rome is phenomenal and whatever questions you ask he has an answer. Alessandro likes to be asked questions and the tour wasn’t pushed along and he’s happy for you to take as many pictures as you want. He made the tour fun but really very interesting at the same time so the 3 hours went by so quickly I can honestly say book Alessandro, it’s definitely money well spent. My adult son and I decided to visit Rome. Of course we bought a guidebook but decided to arrange a few private tours. Best decision we made! We ended up arranging a tour for nearly everyday. I don’t know about all the guides but the two we had ( Selena and Elisa ) amazing in their knowledge but more than that, they were fun and engaging. Considering all the cost to travel and stay and eat in Rome we felt it was money well spent to hear the story from people who really studied the history. Plus they had some great restaurant recommendations from which we will be dieting for the next month.

We did an early morning Vatican tour with Gianluca - despite the difficulties of getting 3 grumpy teens out of bed very early, this tour was the best thing we did in Rome! The Vatican - museums, chapel, basilica and dome - were all beautiful and our guide Gianluca made the tour interesting and informative. It was really worth the extra money going in early without the crowds! Fantastic in every way - thank you!! Also, my original booking had to be changed because the Vatican decided to close that morning and the Eyes of Rome office were extremely helpful and accommodating with changing the date etc

This tour was amazing. Our guide, Rosalba Cilione picked us up directly in front of our VRBO and took us to the Coliseum and Forum. It was awesome! She knew her history, having done this tour for 10 years plus. We were able to skip all the lines on this tour and go right in which was so worth it. The concierge in the hotel arranged for Barbara to give us a private tour of the Vatican. Cannot recommend it enough. She was proficient in the use of Spanish (language in which we requested the tour), her explanations were very thorough, detailed, complete, and her delivery was quite engaging. It was not like listening to a script but rather a hearing a very knowledgeable story teller tell a tale. We were completely satisfied with the service and would recommend this to anyone looking for a good private guide in Spanish.

Huge thanks to Serena for a wonderful early morning tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum on Monday. With our 6 and 3 year old in tow, this might have been a challenge, but Serena's hugely warm, friendly, enthusiastic, patient and understanding manner made it a delight for parents and children alike! Serena brought some fun activities for the kids, along with a gift of colouring pencils and all important sweets, which went down a treat and really helped the kids to engage with ancient Roman life (with a modern Haribo twist!)This really was a family friendly outing. Wow, what an amazing experience! My partner and I were met at our hotel promptly. Serena was personable and friendly, very comfortable and easy to get a long with. She asked what our interests were in Rome before even leaving the hotel. I could tell she matched our passion for delicious food and travel. On the taxi ride to the Vatican, Serena gave us some great tips on local restaurants and eateries, and as we passed monuments and famous buildings she told us the story of Rome on the way. (Also, the entrance to the museum is on the far end of the city, so walking would have taken much longer than our hotel had told us, I was very glad we followed her lead on taking a taxi.) The entire experience is well designed and thoughtful. Serena’s knowledge and passion for history and art really animated our tour. She told the story of Rome and it’s beautiful architecture, details about the artists that only a true history buff would know. We could tell how experienced she was leading us through the museum, we never felt rushed, we didn’t have to wait in any queues, and she was very conscious of our time and making sure she gave us the best experience possible in relatively short amount of time (3 hours). At the beginning of the tour she gave the history of Michael Angelo’s Sistine Chapel ceiling, and for good reason, the Vatican museums are like a one way maze, the museums are seen first, then you go through the Sistine chapel in silence, once you exit you can’t go back in. So going into that very monumental space, having background on Michael Angelo’s intention while discovering his painting for the first time really made it special. Normally I walk aimlessly through museums not really knowing much about what I’m looking at... I suggest to anyone that really wants to experience Rome and the Vatican the right way, take this tour or any tour from Serena, it is really the difference between going some where and checking a place off your list, and really experiencing something special.

Our party of six enjoyed the private tour of the Vatican very much. Alessia was an excellent guide: very professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Since it was New Year's Eve, the tour company arranged to pick us up earlier than originally scheduled so that we would be able to see all of the Vatican before its early closing. Alessia expertly led us through the extremely crowded Vatican, and we did not miss a thing. We would not have been able to navigate the day without her guidance. It was truly a memorable tour that we highly recommend.

We felt quite lucky to have Azzurra Della Seta as our tour guide for a trip through time to the Coluseum and Roman Forum. She has a terrifically warm personality and is extremely conscientious, which we appreciated immensely. For example, part of our tour included a pickup and drop off at our hotel, in crowded Rome. Azzurra was at the hotel early and ready to scoop us - which helped a great deal as we were running late, but didn’t have to worry. She has great enthusiasm for the periods we wanted to tour, and is exceptional at educating those who also love the knowledge. Azzurra was a wonderful guide, and we had such a fun day with her!

If only I could give 10 stars I would! My guide was Gianluca Pica and he was absolutely fabulous in every way. We saw all the sites from the Angels and Demons movie as well as got even deeper into the history of the artwork, churches and monuments. I was so impressed with Gianluca that I booked him again 2 days later for another tour of sites in Rome.

If you are going to Rome, I definitely recommend you to book a tour from "Eyes of Rome". We booked the "Private Early Bird Vatican and St Peter's Basilica Tour". We are a family of seven, in ages from 14 to 80 years. Communication before booking was very comfortable. Beatrice patiently answered all our questions. Tosca is the same too. Our guide Stefania was really friendly, knowledgeable and zealous. Also, she helped us at the end of the tour. At the end of the tour we saw the crowd, so definitely worth the money of the "Early Morning Vatican Tour". The private transfer we requested was timely and comfortable. There was an unpleasant event in the museum. "Eyes of Roma" had no fault. However, the phone was called and apologized to us. Very kind behaviour. Thank you for everything.

We had a fabulous private tour with Alessandro who is a super knowledgeable and engaging Archaeologist. We had hundreds of questions and he answered all of them with great detail and precision, it was a true delight to have such a qualified expert take us on an insiders tour of Rome. We visited hidden sights where no tourists were to be seen and learned so much about history, architecture, and of course archeology, not to mention the best cafes and local culture. We took this tour as the second of 6 days of touring with Eyes of Rome in Rome and the adjacent areas. We extend the tour in advance by adding the Palatine Hill, the Hypogeum (or underground portion of the Colosseum), the Basilica di San Clemente and the Catacombs. The tour was scheduled to last six hours not including lunch. This was our second day touring with Katie. Katie wowed us on our customized City Walking tour and continued to amaze us on this tour. Katie was an Art History major who had gone to Rome on a Fulbright Fellowship and had never left. Katie changed the order of things to make them more efficient. We started out at the Basilica di San Clemente, which had an almost Byzantine looking apse. Like many churches in Rome, it was built on an older church which in turn was built on even older buildings. Portions of these have been excavated and are open via stairways. IMO, the older portion was even more interesting. We saw a mithraeum, a temple of the god Mithras that had been built into a private home. Katie took us to another room which had been the temporary home of Rome’s mint where we could hear running water (which was needed by the mint). After we left, Katie asked if we wanted to go into a nearby shopping mall, which made no sense until we saw that the basement wall included the subterranean water line leading to the mint. As you can tell from this aside, Katie knew the rest of the story and communicated it in an entertaining and informative way. We then walked past a portion of the old gladiator training grounds to the Colosseum for the Hypogeum tour. This was conducted by the Colosseum staff and not the Eyes of Rome guides. While the guide was good and informative, I was disappointed because the accessible area was so small relatively speaking. Due to time constraints we did not do the upper level of the tour and rejoined Katie. Personally, unless your dying to see the wood elevator, you should save your money and skip the Hypogeum. We then started climbing the Palatine Hill and toured the huge palace of Domitian. Katie told us about the now missing highly polished marble walls. We then toured the Farnese Gardens built on the northern portion of the hill with its fabulous views of the Forum. This to me showed ancient Rome at its best. By this time, we were hungry and Katie suggested we try Cavour 313 a wine bar/restaurant nearby. She accepted our invitation to join us but made it quite clear that it wasn’t necessary. I remember the food and wine were both good but I don’t remember enough to post a review. The price was moderate for 3 people with wine. At this point the only thing left was the catacombs. We took a taxi to the Catacombe di Santa Domitilla which was outside the old city limits. My wife and I knew not to expect bodies or skeletons like those in Paris, so the major thing to see were cutout shelfs in the wall. The number of small cutouts was a reminder of how many children never made it adulthood before the invention of vaccines and modern medicine in general. It was remarkable how well Katie knew the various passage ways pretty much like the back of her hand. She again told us a number of stories that kept our interest up. At this point my wife and I were pretty well toured out. Katie was going in a different direction but got us a cab using phone app to get us a cab and stayed around until it arrived After 2 days of touring, Katie and the Eyes of Rome exceeded our expectations in just about every way.

We did two private tours with Eyes of Rome - Stefania was our excellent guide. Would thoroughly recommend. Very well organised and responsive (we changed pick up and drop off location at the last minute: no problem!). Made a huge difference to our enjoyment of the visits and certainly we got a lot more out of the time spent at the sites than doing it by ourselves (not to mention that we did not have to queue and managed to avoid the crowds...). The first one was at the Colosseum, followed a few days later by a second tour of the Vatican Museums, St. Peter's Basilica, and the Sistine Chapel. On the first day, our tour guide, Francesco Grasso, arrived right on time with the drivers and took us over to the Colosseum. We spent several hours exploring the Colosseum, and Francesco was able to tell us many stories of the history of the Colosseum and what life was like during ancient times. As it was extremely hot, we stopped many times to rest while Francesco filled us in on different information regarding the Colosseum, and helped refill our water bottles as well from the natural springs on site. The length of the tour was just right for us on a hot summer day, and we enjoyed learning all about the amazing Colosseum. The Private Early Bird Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica Tour was the perfect way for our family, including grandparents and teenagers, to see the Vatican museums, St. Peter's Basilica, and the Sistine Chapel. Our guide, Marco Mancini, picked us up from our hotel and we got to bypass all the other people waiting in a long line to get into the Vatican. Marco led us through the Vatican museums, explaining each sight as we went, and sharing many interesting tidbits related to the history and geography. Marco made sure to keep the pace slow enough so everyone could keep up, was patient in explaining all the details of the various pieces to us, and answered all of our questions so knowledgeably. The walk through St. Peter's Basilica was amazing, and Marco prepped us on what to look for in the Sistine Chapel prior to our entering, since tour guides are not allowed to lead tours in the Sistine Chapel. One person in our party needed to use a wheelchair, and Marco was very thoughtful and helpful with the wheelchair. Overall it was an excellent way to see the sights with such a nice and knowledgeable tour guide. Thank you so much, Marco!

Barbara de Rosa was my private guide for Forum and Colosseum. Barbara met me at the hotel and we proceeded onto the Forum to start then the Colosseum. Barbara was extremely knowledgeable. It was the best way to see these amazing sites. As she said every rock has a story. And Barbara knew them all. She continued to check in and ask if I had questions or wanted more or less info. I soaked in all she relayed. The history is fascinating and the best way to see is with a guide if you do not have the in-depth historical knowledge. We engaged Eyes of Rome for two tours during our post cruise stay in Rome. On this tour our guide was Serena and we toured the Colosseum and the Forum area. Serena met us on time at our hotel. During our tour she was very knowledgeable and very personable. She used her I Pad to show us how the ruins would have looked like in their day. She was very conscious of our comfort - rest stops, hydration, etc. She asked us questions to gain an understanding of our knowledge of the specific history of what we were looking at before explaining the site. We had the great fortune to have Elissa for our tour guide on this trip through history! She was wonderful at pacing this very physical trip. She clearly and passionately described the history of this very significant place. I wanted to make it to the St Peter in Chains church nearby and she facilitated it for us and gave us a thorough review of the Michelangelo Moses and the relics inside that church. The hotel pickup component of this tour and the private tour with entry through the gladiator gate made the trip. Our tour guide Marida was absolutely wonderful! She was so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and an enjoyable host! She loves Rome and it shows. The churches and works of Caravaggio were magnificent and the insight into his life and where he lived and worked were very enlightening. We have booked a number of tours but if you are a fan of Caravaggio this is a must do!! If I could give it more stores I certainly would!!!!

The tour guide met us at the hotel on time and was very informative not only at the Vatican but also while we were traveling by showing other points of interest on the way. On the tour, she didn't rush the tour and allowed us to see some areas, collection of animals and sculptures, which weren't on the general tour. This was definitely a highlight of our time spent in Rome. Valentina was a phenomenal guide (and it was hot!!), she engaged our teens and made for a wonderful few hours at the Colosseo and Forum. We had been to the Colosseum on a very rushed group tour the year before, we saw and learned so much more. Worth every penny and will only be doing private tours from this point forward. We had a private family tour of the Colosseum and Roman forum with Elisa. The tour was truly excellent. While the Colosseum and Forum were unusually busy when we went (public holiday), Elisa swiftly navigated us through the crowds and into the Colosseum. She was highly knowledgeable and supplemented her descriptions with a photographic presentation which really helped us to understand the history of this remarkable construction. Importantly, she also made it fun for our children who loved the tour. The tour continued with a walk through the Roman Forum. Again, Elisa's genuine love for the history of her city shone through and we found this part of the tour very interesting and entertaining. The price for the tour was fair and I would have no hesitation in recommending the Eyes of Rome and Elisa, our guide, to anyone interested in learning more about the incredible history of this amazing city.

We did a private tour of the Colosseum with Nariman. Nariman was an amazing tour guide, was very knowledgeable, and really helped us understand the history of what we were seeing. She shared some interesting facts that we didn’t know prior to the tour. The Colosseum was really interesting to see from the inside and the skip-the-line is a must do! Flavio was punctual in picking us up and had a cab waiting. There were four of us in the party two of us had recent leg issues. Flavio was mindful of the injuries and kept a pace they could handle and always asked if we needed a break. He is extremely knowledgeable about the Coliseum and presented the information in a very interesting way and answered all questions. We so enjoyed touring with him that we asked if he would take us on a Vatican tour the next day. Unfortunately he had the day off. We would highly recommend him.

We had two tours with Gianluca and Rosie while we were in Rome. It was WELL worth the money for a private tour. We did a walking tours each day. One the first day, we did the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and move sights throughout our 4 hour walk. Gianluca even showed us great restaurants, coffee and gelato shops along the way. he was incredibly informative and knew so much of the history. He knew exactly where to go to skip the crowds too. We had a Vatican, Roman Forum and Colosseum tour with Rosie the next day. She was awesome as well. Super informative and we skipped every line - which was SO worth the money in the Vatican. Rosie took us to a great restaurant for lunch and we absolutely loved spending the day with her. Highly recommend spending the money for Eyes of Rome and private tours. Wouldn't have done it any other way!

We had the pleasure of having Luisa De Dominicis as our guide. All we can say is that she is absolutely fantastic. We were a family of 6 (2 small kids w/ a stroller and 2 aging grandparents w/a walker). She was so patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. Elisa was fantastic. We had our 2 daughters with us (ages 5&8) and did a morning tour of the Colosseum. It was a very hot day and Elisa was great with the kids, very flexible and knew how to adjust based on their attention span. Elisa, was an extremely knowledgeable and friendly guide. She had really had command of the history of the forum and coliseum and explained it like a great teacher would. The 3+ hours went by quickly but it never felt like we were rushing through anything. She took the time to make sure we understood everything; yet did not overload us with a lot of minutia. Had great illustrations of what both places looked like in their time period and we were easily able to connect her teaching points and place ourselves in them. An extremely memorable and enjoyable tour. I really recommend doing this tour in the early morning if going in summer. It gets really hot and crowded and touring early let’s you minimize the effects of both,

We were in Rome for 3 days and knew we wanted to see the Vatican. Due to the heat wave and our short time in Rome, I thought a brief guided tour would be the best way to see the Vatican. Fabiana, our guide, was lovely and very knowledgable. She knew her way around very well and passed through the unimportant areas quickly but went into detail with important works and also our questions. We took a taxi from our hotel to the Vatican, skipped the long lines, and were still able to see all of the highlights. The two private rooms that were part of the tour were also incredible because they were away from the crowds and we really got a small personal private tour of that area. I would highly recommend if you want a personal experience with a knowledgable guide so you understand what you are looking at rather than trying to navigate it on your own for a first timer.

We had an amazing time learning about all the history behind the Colosseum and the Roman forum. The private tour it was well worth the money. We skip past all the people on the long line and we got our full three hours worth of information. It felt personal and private to have our own guide. If we had any questions, Barbara answered immediately and we got to do our day how we wanted to. Barbara was amazing, she was so informative and really knew the history of Rome. It was such an amazing time! We also had our own guide to take pictures where ever we felt we could get the best shot. The pictures came out awesome and are memories we will cherish.

Our Tour Guide Francesco Grasso was incredible, and I cannot describe how personable, knowledgeable, considerate and how his overall presence enhanced our first visit to Rome and The Vatican. This was a wonderful tour! Elisa was as knowledgeable as she was sweet. It was terrific that she was able to pick us up from our hotel, have us skip both the entry line and the various lines in the museums and buildings and walk us through the hallways, artwork and glorious buildings that comprise the Vatican. The access to collections that are not available to the general public was also a nice surprise. This was a wonderful way to spend a morning in Rome!

Just spent 15 days touring Italy, and without question one of the highlights of our trip was this tour, both because of its just fascinating subject matter, but mainly because our guide Ornella could not of done a better job. She met us at our hotel, arriving early, and immediately in the car across town started giving us one fascinating fact or story after another about whatever we saw. The tour was just my wife and I and our 3 teenage daughters, and immediately Ornella had them engaged and interested. The skip the line part was perfect, and the Coliseum was amazing. She steered us to all the best viewpoints and took great pictures of our family throughout the tour. In the coliseum she was pointing out lots of interesting side exhibits that we would have otherwise missed or not understood, giving us one fascinating fact after another, and steering us expertly through the crowds. Then we walked up palatine hill and got an amazing immersive tour experience. Ornella brought the ancient history to life all around us. She took us throughout the ruins of the ancient palace, we looked down over the circus maximus on one side and the entirety of the roman forum on the other, and all the while she was bringing the vistas to life with her knowledge and enthusiasm. The tour and Ornella were amazing from start to finish. Shes a genuine a kind person, and her knowledge was boundless. Cant recommend her or this tour enough.

Simone had such a great wealth of knowledge and expertise. He gave the tour great context. His personal care (navigating crowds, steps, terrain, etc.) was very much appreciated by my wife and me. He definitely understood us as well as his cultural, architectural history.

I did this private tour with a companion two years ago and did nothing but brag about what a fantastic opportunity I found in it. So much so, that two MORE friends were enthusiastic enough to ask to go along. Four of us signed up and were wowed by our terrific guide, Francesca Dorazio. Francesca is passionate about her Vatican job and it was infectious. We already knew that what we were about to experience was unique, and could discontinue at any time, but it was Francesca who made each room in the palace come alive. She was able to answer any question with ease, and was completely at home, as if she lived in the Palace. The gardens were mesmerizing and our driver excellent. Afterwards, a wonderful meal that just did not end, with delightful and imaginative courses. Francesca was alerted to some allergies and made sure all went smoothly for our group of four. I can't say enough: this trip is so worth the money! I would not have done it a second time if it wasn't, so, don't hesitate!

Spend a Wonderful Day with Rosalba! My family and I enjoyed an incredible day with Rosie on our recent trip to Rome. Since we only had two days, we wanted to see as much as we possibly could, so we went on a private, made to order tour through Eyes of Rome. Our guide, Rosie, made that possible while finding chances to stop, relax, and even shop. Being an expert in Art History and Archeology, she was extremely prepared as she began the day with a walking trip through the Forum and Paletine Hill which overlooked it. As a wonderful storyteller, she gave a vibrant overview of the history and mythology which gave rise to the Rome of today and provided illustrations to show the past and the present. Our next stop was a “Skip the Line” private tour of the Coliseum. She knew exactly how to find the best views from different areas of the ruins and explained little known facts to make it come alive. Following the tour, Rosie walked us to one of her favorite cafes where we enjoyed a local menu as well as her company! Not only did she plan a fabulous afternoon tour, she also assisted us in contacting the airline attempting to get boarding passes for the following day’s flight home, even allowing us to use her phone to try to make contact! After lunch, she called for a golf cart which took us on a private tour of the highlights of the City. The driver was very skilled and made our trip though the busy streets lots of fun. Because we were driving, we saw more than we could have ever seen through a walking tour. Some of the highlights were the Circus Maximus, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo, and the Borghese Gardens. We ended the day with a tour inside the Pantheon and Rosie’s recommendation for a great restaurant nearby. Because of Rosalba’s expertise, kindness, and enthusiastic personality, our trip to Rome will always be a favorite family adventure, one which we will always remember!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience learning about Ancient Rome and the monuments we saw. We will definitely be back to learn more, there is so much to see.

My family spent a wonderful afternoon with Simone, the incredible guide from Eyes of Rome, when we had only 1 1/2 days to tour the city. Because we had just come off a 7 day cruise of the Western Mediterranean, in which we were on daily excursions of 50 people, having a private guide for the 3 of us in Rome was perfect. Through a miscommunication of arrangements made by our cruise line, we ended up staying at the Rome airport hotel, 1 hour away from the city center. Upon hearing of our predicament, Eyes of Rome arranged private transfers and picked us up even though we were far outside the city, which was not usually included in their normal transfer policy. Massimo, our driver, was prompt and made the long drive very enjoyable! Simone met us at the very busy Vatican entrance and started the day with a marvelous private tour of the side galleries, pointing out incredible facts as well as making reflections of the history and building of the Vatican itself. His higher education (a PHD from Oxford, no less!) in archaeology was evident in his passion and wealth of knowledge. He was obviously very prepared and showed us pictures from his Ipad to support his explanations, which were extremely helpful. The pacing was great, and he gave us time to take in things of importance, yet kept us moving so that we could see as much as possible in the time we had. Before entering the Sistine Chapel, Simone pointed out amazing things to focus on, providing a full description and explanation so we would not miss a thing. His patience and interest in all of our questions made for a truly incredible time. At the conclusion of the tour, he gave personal suggestions for places to have dinner near the Vatican, creating the perfect day. My family feels this was truly a "gem" of an experience!!!

Maria was excellent. She met us (family of 5) at our apartment and escorted us efficiently through an extraordinarily busy Vatican. She was knowledgeable, friendly and spoke very good English. Would definitely recommend her.

Fantastic tour for both morning and afternoon with our guide, Luisa! Skip-the-line tickets for Colosseum were absolutely essential. We had 3 young children and 2 grandparents on the tour and after a morning of walking in the hot sun, the golf cart tour recommended to us was an excellent decision. As for Luisa herself, she was a great storyteller whose passion showed through during the tour and was very knowledgeable. We needed to find a restaurant for lunch in between and she recommended a restaurant that was much appreciated as it was near (saves us from walking), well air-conditioned and served excellent food. She even went beyond her call of duty when I told her I needed to run to a supermarket to find diapers for my baby and offered to walk with me to find it (in case I needed her Italian to save my life). Thank you, Luisa!

I traveled to Rome with my 2 daughters (ages 8 and 10) a few days before meeting my husband for a family cruise. This tour was our first excursion of the trip and one of our favorite memories. I purchased the tour and one other on trip advisor in advance and received an email from Eyes Of Rome requesting our hotel information. I replied with the information and requested a guide who worked well with children. On the day of our tour we were greeted in our hotel lobby by Fabiana. She was very friendly and immediately began bonding with the girls telling us she has 2 daughters almost the same age. The hotel pick up was very convenient and helpful our first day in the city. During the drive Fabiana began giving us information and pointing out landmarks along the way. Our first stop was the Forum. This was my favorite tour of our entire trip. Fabiana kept my children and myself fascinated with the information she provided. She was very informative and kept the kids interested at all times. She provided pictures to help us imagine what the area looked like in ancient times and told us interesting stories. We went at a pace the girls were comfortable with and stopped to take photos and drink water as frequently as they liked. Our next stop was the Colosseum. It was crowded, as expected, but Fabiana got us through the line in no time and took us to the less crowded areas. Her expertise was a life saver as it would have been overwhelming to fight the crowd without her help. Again she provided information to make the venue come alive for us. My older daughter was eager to buy souvenirs so we had some time n the gift shop before exiting. At the end of the tour, Fabiana led us to a taxi, told the driver where to take us and paid for the ride. Again very convenient and easy. We had such a wonderful experience with Fabiana that we requested her her for our tour of the Vatican the next day. I highly recommend this tour and Fabiana. We had many tours throughout our two week trip and Fabiana was our very favorite guide. My girls repeatedly asked if she could be our guide even when we were in different cities or countries.

We enjoyed our trip very much. Elisa was our guide two years in a row. If you have kids under 12, she is a rare gem. She makes it interesting for them, and for the adults. Our ride was right on time, the tour lasted the exact time and we have many new memories. If you are lucky enough to get Elisa you are guaranteed to enjoy!

The Drop-off service was terrible. The guide was desperately trying to book a cab to take us back to hotel. We waited >30minutes in the hot sun. The Drop-off service should not even be offered as part of the package if it is not all pre-arranged which what we paid for. A small refund of 15 Euros was offered. But this is no compensation for the long wait of >30min in the hot sun after walking 3 hours during the tour. Extremely displeased.

Our guide, Alma, was amazing. She was unbelievably knowledgeable and knew how to cut through the crowds! Our granddaughter related very well to her and Alma really understood a 13 year old! My husband and I had done the tour years ago but this time was so much better even though it was extremely crowded. Highly recommend Alma!

Our tour guide was Elisa. She provided a fascinating tour of the Roman Forum and the Colosseum. I was particularly impressedwith her ability to bring my children’s history classes to life. We highly recommend this tour and will seek out Elisa and Eyes of Rome when we return.

Our guide Michealla was absolutely terrific. Very knowledgable and friendly. She knew very much about the history and archeology associated with the various sites. She had an organized tour and knew the best sites. She also is able to adapt the tour to your interests. This was our first trip to Italy and she is terrific for somebody new to or familiar with Rome. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We did private tours with friends Elisa and Elisa, one to the Vatican and one to the Colisium. Both guides were great, and very knowledgeable of not only the history, but the use of our time...no waiting in lines for us! They took great pics for us at each major site, flowers/plants included! This is the only way I could imagine touring such significant sites and getting the full experience. Ask for Elisa, can't go wrong with either!

The Coloseum and Roman Forum are indescribable, truly aspiring Roman accomplishments and essential to understanding the heritage of Rome. Having Maria as a guide gave us a much better insight and understanding of the historical context and many features that we would not have understood. She was punctual, professional, courteous, very knowledgeable, speaks excellent English and is very good at understanding our interests and adapting her tour to us. I would absolutely take a private tour, especially with Maria on any visit. The access she provided to avoid lines and find the best entrance and exit, as well as how she pulled all the marvels together as we walked made our trip significantly more memorable. She was also very patient and cheerful as we stopped often to take many many photos. Just do it! Take the tour, with Maria!!

Undisputedly a prive tour and guide is the way to go hands-down but the guide truly makes the experience memorable. Elisa Taddei was a gem herself. Her knowledge, experience, genuine enthusiasm and love of history reflected totally in her story telling. Though our trip was short, our 3-4 hours with Elisa made it all the worth while. If you are thinking of doing a tour on your trip I would highly recommend Roberta!! She is so knowledgeable and she truly educates you on anything your heart desires. This was hands down our favorite thing that we did in Rome. You definitely will not be disappointed!!!

Paola Molinaro was our Eyes of Rome tour guide for both the Vatican/Sistine Chapel and Roman Forum/Colosseum tours. Paola's English is excellent and she's very personable. She was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Roman history; there was no question she couldn't answer. She knew the sites and museum like the back of her hand and was able to bring history to life with her descriptions and enthusiasm. The sites were very crowded, but we were able to skip the lines. We highly recommend Paola.

Although it was a rainy, windy morning when our tour guide from Eyes of Rome met my sister and me at our hotel, we could immediately tell that our time with Stefania would be special. She warmly greeted us and made sure we had the necessary gear for the weather. After our taxi ride to the Colosseum, we quickly swept past the long lines standing in the rain at the entrance and started our tour. Stefania's background is in art history, but she demonstrated an excellent background in the history of ancient Rome. Her presentation was vivid and engaging, never lapsing into mere recitation of facts. Eyes of Rome refers to their guides as story tellers and the description is perfect. We could visualize the raucous crowds at the gladiator games and other public spectacles. Stefania also helped us appreciate the architectural achievement of this massive amphitheater. Likewise she brought to life the Forum as the center of public life in ancient Rome. Stefania responded readily to our questions and tailored her presentation to our interests. After the tour was completed and we asked for a recommendation for lunch, she walked us to a restaurant patronized by locals and away from the tourist traps surrounding the Colosseum. Finally, we asked for suggestions for churches to visit and she sent an email with several suggestions with descriptions. Based upon her suggestions we visited the only medieval church in Rome, Santa Maria sopra Minerva, which was delightful. We left feeling we not only had enjoyed a great tour -- we made a new friend!

Our tour was fabulous! Azzurra was a sensational tour guide, made us feel completely comfortable, and was a fountain of knowledge about everything she showed us. We skipped all the lines, and got into areas that others were not allowed to enter. She made us feel special from the first moment she picked us up at the hotel. We didn't just SEE things - we EXPERIENCED them thank to her. My wife has bad knees, and she kept the pace to one that suited us. It was truly a great time, and we can't imagine we could have enjoyed it any more than we did. The history was awesome. We heartily recommend this tour, and this tour guide! You made our whole trip.

We were greeted by our lovely tour guide, Alma Ndoi, at our hotel. She provided just enough information to keep us engaged and full of joy. She had a great command of the English language and kept us moving though a very crowded Vatican. At the end of our tour we said goodbye to a friend (and she sent us off in the right direction for a lovely post- tour Roman lunch).

I took 2 tours with the brilliant Elisa Taddei - it was a last minute trip to Rome and my hotel put me in touch with the company. I was wary at first as I'd heard bad stories from people going on tours of Rome - but this was exceptional and worth every penny. For three hours Elisa brought ancient Rome and the Coliseum to life in exactly the same way she'd done for the Vatican tour the previous day. Her English was excellent and she was so expert at one point even local Italian girls stopped her and asked her questions which she was happy to answer. It turned out their schools had been getting the history wrong. My only regret was that I didn't take the 3D glasses tour which I will definitely do next time. I couldn't recommend Elisa highly enough. I hope you're lucky enough to get her as your guide.

Absolutely wonderful tour with Alessandro Cali! As an archaeologist who worked excavations in the forum, his knowledge was absolutely amazing. More than that, he was able to describe the way things were and give us a real feel for the remarkable sights we were viewing. In addition to having so much knowledge she was a delight to spend time with. She was friendly, energetic, and passionate about her job as she stayed out longer than the schedule originally planned. She wanted to ensure that this was the best experience possible and it showed in how she engaged with us especially with our young kids. Her knowledge of history as well as architecture is truly inspiring and gave my family a totally different perspective when it comes to appreciate art and history. Definitely recommend Eyes of Rome and especially Laura. It was just a fantastic experience!

My husband and I were treavelling throughout Italy with our 4 children ranging in ages from 6 - 17, and didn't want to get stuck in a large tour group that would lose our childrens' interest. This review is months overdue. A friend referred me to Eyes of Rome and our tour guide, Serena. We only had 2 and a half days in the city after completing a Mediterranean cruise and wanted to make the most of it. Eyes of Rome made building our plans extremely easy and Serena made the experience extra special, especially given this was our first trip to Rome. After several discussions with Mara on our interests and several options they offered that aligned with those (along with some suggestions from her) we chose to include the Colisseum, the Vatican and St Peters Basilica, and a Scavi tour (a must do), a city walking tour with the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, and lastly a food and wine tasting experience. We couldn’t have been happier with the selections and the touring vs relaxing ratio in Rome. Serena was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable and well prepared. Not only did she have her iPad to show visuals and provide historic references to particular sites, but she was also able to answer practically all of the questions we had. Though lines were sometimes long, she was able to get us through faster and her relationships with security came in handy when my backpack exceeded one sites allowable size. In addition to having so much knowledge of the sites in Rome, and European history in general, she was a delight to spend time with. She was friendly, energetic, courteous, and ultimately treated us like longtime friends, including staying out longer than the schedule originally planned. She wanted to ensure that this was the best experience possible and it showed in how she engaged with us. I am certain we will utilize Eyes of Rome and Serena when we take our teenage kids back to Rome.

We took a private tour with guide, Paola along with our teenage daughters through the Colosseum and Forum. She was a wonderful, lovely guide. She was very knowledgeable and taught us so much about the venues and about life in Rome. We were thrilled to be able to bypass the incredibly long lines. I would definitely book a tour with Eyes of Rome again and I would request Paola.

From the moment our guide (Elisa) picked us up, until drop-off, the time spent was invaluable & unforgettable. We were upgraded to an earlier start at the Vatican for free, since it was Good Friday. Truly skipped the lines & throngs of people waiting. The Vatican & St. Peter’s Basilica’s history, artwork, culture & heritage was explained knowledgeably by Elisa including some stories known to only those behind the scenes. which mesmerized & captivated our 17 & 12 year olds. My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting with Serena and Simona for the morning debrief on the Vatican museum and Sistine chapel. They were informative, friendly, and down to earth. We were fast tracked right into the Vatican museum when everyone else was stuck waiting in an extremely long line. In the afternoon we had a private tour with Simone - a native Roman. He is an archeologist who has spent years digging at the forum and in Egypt. His history knowledge was extensive, and he vividly explained the different layers of history found in Rome and at the colosseum in particular. The whole tour was impressive and we could have easily spent 3 more hours exploring Rome with Simone. I would recommend Eyes of Rome to anyone and can easily see why it’s rated so highly

We had a private tour of the Colosseum with Elisa. She had been doing those tours for many years and it showed with her wealth of knowledge. It didn't sound as if she was reading off a script with cheesy jokes like other tour guides. She was genuine, took the time to answer all of our questions, and laughed at our stupid jokes. The entire tour was the highlight of our Rome trip. I can't recommend Eyes of Rome (we used them for a Vatican tour as well) and Elisa enough.

We had a marvelous day with Rosie at the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Roman Forum, Catacombs and St Clemente church. We booked the tours through our hotel and were lucky to Get Rosie (Rosalba) with Eyes’s of Rome. Rosie is so knowledgeable and energetic and kept us on a great pace. Her explanations of the history brought everything to life. Rosie is a great story teller and you can tell she really loves what she does. We will definitely call Eyes of Rome and ask for Rosie next time we visit Rome

Paola Molinaro guided us through the Underground Rome and the Colosseum. She displayed full control of the history and embellished it with relevant anecdote. Paola is a lovely person, the hours with her were interesting and pleasurable and I highly recommend her.

Everything worked just perfectly. Our guide Maria and driver Fabio picked us form our hotel at agreed time. We went directly to Colosseum, without waiting and afterwards we walked directly into Forum Romanum, skipping the line there as well. Maria was incredibly friendly, spontaneus and professional. She gave us a huge amount of interesting information in very comprehensive way. She did her best to make the tour intersting for our teen-aged daughters. We were walking in our own tempo. Stopping whenever we wished to stop, for making fotos, asking questions... At the end of the tour, we decided to continue our sightseeing and it was no problem for our driver Fabio to dropp us off not in our hotel but to drive us to other place according to our choice. We higly recommend this tour. If you can afford it, just do it. It is absolutely worth it.

Truly special tours with Eyes of Rome. Our group of 7 had three tours set up with Eyes of Rome. First 4 of us went on an and evening food and wine tour and had an amazing time! Our guide Francesco made it a very special tour. I felt like a friend was giving us the real low down on eating and drinking in Rome. We started at a Norcinaria and learned a ton about the tradition of curing meats and making salami. We had a full array of salami, prosciutto, and cured meats paired with a light and crispy Grechetto. Next we went to a cheese shop and had a really cool and delicious group of cheeses to try. Francesco paired this with a really good Nebbiolo. The tour finished with a visit to a cool little restaurant/pasticceria for typical roman snacks and some really good Italian Carmenere. Im still trying to figure out how the traditional charcoal bread was so good! Francesco's insight and recommendations regarding food really helped us plan and perfect our eating for the rest of the trip! Next our group of 7 including an 8 year old, took a tour of the forum and the Colosseum. Francesco led us on a fun and informative tour with excellent history and an extremely engaging perspective. Even the young one was entertained. the tour was fantastic and it was totally worth to climb to the top of the Colosseum and enjoy the amazing view of history. Our last tour with Eyes of Rome was an early bird tour of the Vatican and a trip to the dome. Again, Francesco gave us such a good insight and really interesting perspective on the history, architecture and art of this amazing place. I loved his combination of knowledge and humor, it really made this tour memorable. I must thank Eyes of Rome and especially Francesco for his guidance and recommendations. He really helped make this trip great!

Fantastic. Our tour guide, Eli’s Taddei was on time, friendly, extremely well organized, patient with our 13 person group. She was so knowledgeable. She made it all come alive. Can’t imagine how it could have been a better experience.

We took a tour of Galleria Borghese with Elisa. She was fantastic. My older daughter (10 years old) is very into Greek and Roman mythology and we asked for a tour that would keep her interested. Elisa did not disappoint. She had tremendous depth and breadth of knowledge but was able to keep my daughter fully engaged throughout our 2.5 hour tour with questions and stories about the gods and goddesses we were looking at in the gallery. She is also a lovely person. Highly recommended.

Simone was our tour guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable, with a background in archaeology and experience with excavation in the Forum. He was also very personable and charming, just a fun person to spend 3+ hours with. The skipping the line claim is absolutely true, and even in December the line at the Colosseum was very long. Unfortunately there is no skipping the security/metal detector lines which are very unorganized but Simone helped us navigate that mess. He knew so much about the Colosseum and the shows there, but what I really liked was how he gave us the perspective of the gladiators. He then took us to the Roman Forum, and told us stories of Julius Caesar, Marc Antony, etc. It was an unforgettable tour, and I'm so glad we went with Eyes of Rome and Simone who is the absolute best.

Touring the Roman Forum and the Colosseum with Karin was absolutely amazing. Her in-depth historical knowledge and natural storytelling ability made the the entire experience a once in a life time event. We can not thank Karin Libri or Eyes of Rome enough for creating a once in a lifetime experience for our family. Karin is warm, and friendly with unmatched in-depth knowledge of seemingly everything Rome, a true hospitality professional.

We had a wonderful private tour of the Vatican - that began when Elisa met us at our hotel. We can't recommend Elisa highly enough. Her knowledge of the history of the Vatican and the art within the galleries was fantastic adding so much to our visit. Elisa was also great fun and gave us tips on her other recommendations of things to see in Rome and places to eat. We can't recommend this tour highly enough - and if you do book it make sure you ask for Elisa!

Our guide, Francesco, took us around the outside of the colosseum and gave us a history lesson on what led to its development. Later, we made our way inside and were astounded by the building’s design - modern stadiums are very similar! Francesco’s delivery is very conversational, and he makes the Roman ruins come alive with his humorous and imaginative descriptions. The tribunal and Roman Forum simply have to be seen to be believed. Excellent tour!

My daughter and I toured the Vatican with Marta. She was extremely personable and knowledgeable. It was money well-spent, as we learned so much information and were able to ask many a ton of questions. Marta even gave us some gluten-free restaurant tips. She was great!

Our tour of the Vatican was stress free, informative and inspiring. We were taken straight in past a line that rivaled any I have seen, and got to see and learn about the most amazing place and art collection from a true expert. Elisa was so pleasant and flexible- we even took time for a cup of coffee and enjoyed hearing some of the fun similarities of our lives and families. Elisa is a true gem. We decided to indulge ourselves and book a private tour and we are very happy that we did. We had a wonderful guide, Katie, who was very knowledgeable, patient and just a nice person to spend half a day with. Our tour was very informative and pleasant especially as we could move easily without being in a large tour group. We asked questions that were always nicely fielded by Katie with in depth answers. To top off the great tour after it was over, Katie recommended a place for lunch that wasn't overrun by tourists and provided us the best pasta during our whole visit to Rome. There is a reason the ratings are so high as the guides obviously love what they are doing and make it a great experience for the clients.

We had a lovely tour of the Roman Forum and Colosseum with our tour guide, Luisa. She took us through the Forum, giving us great background and history into the place, which really helped us appreciate what we were looking at. She moved through the tour at a good pace, so we didn't feel overwhelmed with information. The Colosseum was very crowded, but Luisa did a good job of moving us through there, and giving us some interesting facts as we moved along. We also really liked a book she carried with her, giving us a glimpse of what the Colosseum and Roman Forum looked like many years ago, so we could picture the significance of the ruins. Overall - excellent tour. Luisa was very personable, took pictures of us when we asked, and clearly knew her history. If we come back to Rome, we would definitely consider doing another tour with Eyes of Rome, and with her. Highly recommend!

We had a very interesting and informative tour, which was expected; however, this particular tour with Maria Ida Moretti was exceptional. Paolo Molinaro was our guide for a tour of the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. She was so knowledgeable and engaging. She pointed out so many interesting facts and has a wonderful grasp of history to compliment the tour. We saw a theater production of Michaelangelo and the Sistine Chapel ( music was by Sting!) later that evening and her information made the experience that much more wonderful for us as we remembered our earlier tour with her. We loved it so much we booked a tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum with her! She had answers to every one of our questions. Our daughter and son in law accompanied us on that tour and later booked their tour of the Vatican with her on a different day! Lovely lady and it made our trip that much better. They were able to accommodate my request and we got the BEST of both worlds! We had Fabiana for our Colosseum and Roman forum tour and Giuliano for our early access Vatican tour the next day. The amount of information that Giuliano is able to offer is amazing. He was funny, energetic, and very nice! He also offered to take pictures of our family, which again we were very grateful for. My family of 4 had the absolute pleasure of having Elisa as our private tour guide. We arrived in Rome very early in the AM and knew we were unable to check into our Airbnb. After reading other great reviews we didn’t hesitate to choose this private tour of the Vatican and were not disappointed. Elisa met us at the “Stow your bags” Navona location on time and from the moment we met her we knew our day would be special. She arranged for private transportation to the Vatican and we had priority access without waiting into the museum and access to room of animals which is one of my favorites. We had been to the Vatican 2 times previously and she pointed out things that we had not learned before. She catered the tour to our needs and was patient, kind and her knowledge of the museum was impressive. She obviously loves her work and her passion and enthusiasm made the tour memorable for me, my father, uncle and cousin. When the tour was over she made sure to stay with us until our private ride arrived. We she made us forget that we had just traveled 8 hours and had to adjust to a 6 hour time zone change as well. Found and booked through Trip Advisor we would highly recommend this company for your guided tours. Our guide was punctual at the arranged time for our hotel pick ups on both days, she was a friendly and extremely knowledgeable guide and what was most appreciated was that she was very considerate and took our health quirks into account on such hot days.

We toured the Vatican with Michela and I would highly recommend her. She is engaging, passionate, kind, and did a wonderful job creating a fantastic tour for my wife and i, plus all 3 kids ages 13-19.

We did a private tour of the Vatican City with Silvia Monti, and the Colesseum and Palatine with Elisa and cannot speak highly enough about both tours. It was expensive, but so worth the money - I am pretty sure that we will not have the opportunity to tour these places again, so we wanted to make the most of our time in Rome. Both guides knew how to dodge the crowds, and we have photos of ourselves in the Vatican museum without another person in the picture! I think that touring the Vatican without a guide would be such a waste as they have all the little bits of information that are not in the guide book and that make it all the more memorable. We are not big art or history buffs but both guides made it really interesting and we feel like we came away with a degree in both by the end of it! I would highly recommend it, and would not hesitate to use them again if we ever visit Rome again.

Can't say enough positive things about this company and the guides. From the moment a friend told me about them and I began to inquire, the staff were responsive, patient with me (and I asked A LOT of questions over about 7 months!!), helpful, and accommodating. Called me the day prior to arrival to do a final confirmation. The tour guide Serena was beyond amazing. knowledgeable and fun, good with the teens who began to get tired, patient, suggested good restaurants. Started raining as we arrived and she well suggested we get some ponchos and umbrellas, which made the incredible downpour that ensued as we had to wait outside bearable! All around amazing experience. Highly recommend. Paid a little extra for the arena tour - definitely worth it.

This was an amazing tour! Our guide Elisa Dattile was the best tour guide we have ever had anywhere. She was informative, funny, and patient with my active 12 and 9 year old children. She had a way of making the sights come to life with anecdotes and images she shared on a tablet. Not waiting in line for the Coliseum was amazing and well worth every penny we spent. Excellent Vatican & Sistine Chapel Early Bird Tour : Our tour guide Silvia from Eyes of Rome was excellent. She was very informative, humorous and very personable.She was right on time and picked us up from our hotel and took us by cab to the Vatican. We were able to get in early and she was able to get us ahead of the bog crowd. As it was a private tour with 4 in our group it was really easy for her to tell us all bout the architecture, paintings/painters /sculptures. It can get quite crowded and noisy inside due to so many tour groups and I would highly encourage you to take a private tour with Eyes of Rome. Highly recommend eyes of Rome to any tourist in Rome.May be a bit pricier than other but definitely worth it. Awesome tour, awesome guide!

We are in Italy for our daughters 20th birthday and in each city for only a few days. Therefore we wanted to make the most of each day yet still be relaxed since it is very hot in August. We had Elisa as our guide and she was not only prompt but early to our hotel pickup; which is always nice! On our way to the forum Elisa was fun and talkative so we knew it would be a nice morning. Fortunately it only got better as she was super informative in both antiquities, and a vast array of historical knowledge of many cultures and religions. We ask lots of questions, many off topic and Elisa was always super excited to share her knowledge and then focus back so we were sure not to miss anything. We loved spending the morning with her and would highly recommend you request her if she’s available. After our tour she was super helpful and guided us to our next stops and even rode with us in the taxi helping us with the driver in communicating our next destinations. Amazing tour - loved it!

Hello, we were fortunate enough to secure a private tour with Paolo on short notice. She met us at our Airbnb near the Spanish Steps. We grabbed a taxi and headed straight to the Colosseum to begin the tour with her. She was extremely personable and it felt like we had met up with a long time friend who we hadn't seen for a while. She customized the tour to meet our needs (older teenage boys and parents with varied interests) and shared many interesting historical points that we would not heard otherwise. As we neared the end of the tour, she was very helpful in guiding us to restaurants and other areas of interest before we headed back to the hotel. I highly recommend Paolo and her tour!

I booked this tour months ago knowing that it would be the smartest way to see the Colosseum & Roman Forum with my family during the hot summer in busy Rome when we only had two days and were trying to pack in as much as possible. Last Saturday, Francesco (our guide) picked us up at the hotel nice and early before the day started getting to hot. Francesco was wonderful! Spoke English fluently and was not only extremely knowledgeable -- he was highly entertaining. He made us laugh and he made us think. The three hours flew by. He is a treasure. Viva Roma!!

Our family of 6 landed in Rome on Wednesday, July 11th, and we were fortunate enough to have Luisa meet us at our hotel at 3 PM that same day. She was friendly, personable and very well informed Her English was amazing and we all felt extremely comfortable with her from the minute we met. She went out of her way to make Ancient Rome come alive. She tailored the tour to our particular requests and went out of her way to make sure we had a thorough understanding of life in Ancient Rome. We could not have asked for a better tour guide. Hotel pick up and drop off were a definite plus.

Our guide, Roberta, was extremely knowledgeable regarding the history of the forum and the colosseum. Every question that we posed, she had answers and knowledge. Her English was extremely good and we could understand her perfectly. She was at out hotel promptly to pick us up and got us a taxi back to the hotel at the end of the tour. I recommend this tour early in the morning because the crowds were not in the forum and they were just beginning at the colosseum. Plus it is very hot in the sun . The tour is a little overpriced, in my opinion, but we enjoyed having a private guide.

My 70+ year old parents had an amazing time with Rosalba touring the Vatican. She was patient, intelligent, fun, and extremely knowledgeable. My mom said she “knew every corner of sistine chapel… she pointed out details, oddities that one would not otherwise have seen when walking through.” She has a lot of art history educational training and museum experience and it was evident during the tour as she did a great job explaining the history of artists and artworks throughout the buildings. My parents remarked that they never could tour the site without Rosalba - when they arrived there was an incredibly long line to get in. But as soon as they walked up, Rosalba showed her badge to someone and they cut the line. Incredibly painless and convenient and stress free trip, unbelievably! My mom has some difficulty walking, which I specified to Eyes Of Rome prior to the tour. Going with a wonderful private guide like Rosalba was the solution - Rosalba led my parents through the museum at a pace that was comfortable for my mom. My dad said it was the most engaging and intimate way to see the Vatican, “Like three friends walking through the museum.” Except one of them - of course -Rosalba - was extremely knowledgeable! Thank you so much, Rosalba, for taking good care of my parents. This was a once in a lifetime experience and I think if you hire one private tour during your Rome trip, it should be for the Vatican due to its scale and crowds — and if you’re lucky you can book with Rosalba :)

We booked Fabiana through Eyes of Rome, for the private Colosseum and Roman Forum Tour, as well as the Early Bird Vatican Museum Tour. Fabiana was absolutely phenomenal, extremely knowledgeable, very organized and very personable. She expertly tailored the tour to our specific requests, knew how to avoid crowds, and how to get the most out of the tour. We were so fortunate to tour Rome with her! What a wonderful and informative tour with Maria Ida Moretti. Maria picked us up at our hotel and ordered a taxi for us. We didn't realize that it would just be our family and Maria, which was great. Even on the cab ride over she was full of interesting information about the Vatican and Rome. She was so knowledgeable and answered all our questions. It was a mob scene at the Vatican and we flew past all the lines. We also had access to a private area at the vatican. Maria gave us a lot of information before entering some of the areas so we definitely knew what we were looking at. We were with her for 4 hours, that flew by very quickly. She gave us ideas of where to eat and other places to see. If we go back to Rome, I am definitely searching her out. She was absolutely amazing and such a delight. We traveled to Italy with our 8 and 5 year old and although the adults wanted to do tours, we were a little worried about taking the kids on a tour, under the blazing sun into areas that required some imagination. After some research we settled on a private tour with Eyes of Rome. It was a great decision. It was reasonably priced. Our guide, Fabiana did a fantastic job engaging with the kids but also hitting many major points for the adults while keeping the tour succinct (and in the shade when possible!) When (not if) we are back in Rome, we will definitely be checking out other tour options with this company.

Our Colosseum and Roman Forum tour with Simone was absolutely spectacular. He was a wealth of knowledge in regards to the tour and not only spoke intelligently about the subject but challenged us with questions about what we learned. He did a great job with our two kids, 18 and 16, challenging them with questions and teaching them about the time period. If you are looking for a real learning experience about this tour he is your guy. He was also awesome about how the tour went. When our daughter was having some issues with the sun and a previous injury he totally took care of the situation by getting her a coke and some cold water. A great experience all the way around!

My wife and I along with our two teenage boys were recently In Rome for three nights starting on June 27th and we wanted to get as much out of our short time there. Although private tours cost more, we have found over the years that often they are well worth the extra expense. For our two Rome tours we had the good fortune to have Fabiana as our tour guide. Fabiana was nothing short of fabulous! On our first full day in Rome, she met us at our hotel and took us for a tour of the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. You could not be blessed with a better tour guide. Fabiana is a genuinely nice person. She is sweet, knowledgeable, courteous and above all, professional. She holds degrees in both art history and anthropology and, as such, is more than qualified to provide an in-depth tour for your party. You could not ask for anything more from a guide. We loved her! We understand that Eyes of Rome employs other wonderful guides as well as Fabiana, which accounts for their exceptional rating. Fabiana escorted us through the multitude of Vatican exhibits, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. She is also an expert photographer and knows all the best places to take memorable photos. At the end of our Vatican tour we were so happy and impressed with Fabiana that we wanted her to accompany us on our private tour the next day at the Colosseum. We were so lucky she was available for that tour as well. Eyes of Rome had requested access for us to the Belvedere section of the Colosseum, which I highly recommend. The views from the upper levels of the Colosseum are extraordinary. Plus, it is nowhere near as crowded as the lower levels. We cannot imagine doing a tour of the Vatican and the Colosseum without thesuperlative Fabiana to guide us along the way. We highly recommend using the Eyes of Rome on your next trip to Rome. Also, if she is available, ask for Fabiana to be your guide. When we return to Rome we greatly look forward to seeing her again.

My family recently visited Rome and decided to book two separate tours with Eyes of Rome in order to get to know the history of the city. The first tour was the Private Vatican Tour while the other was the Private Colosseum and Roman Forum tour. Both were amazing! On our first tour to the Vatican, our guide was Marta. Throughout the entire tour she was not only extremely helpful and friendly but she was very knowledgable about the pieces we saw and the history of the Vatican. My youngest (9) came along and Marta was excellent with her! Overall, we had a great experience, starting with the punctual pick up at the hotel to the very end of the tour. The next day we took a private tour with Maria Linda to the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Although we had gone to both sites before the tour, we were able to learn so much more with Maria Linda. She truly gave us an in-depth analysis and explanation about the foundations and ancient history of the city of Rome. Although the day was pretty hot, Maria always made sure to accommodate us and was extremely optimistic throughout the day. I was extremely satisfied with the tour and so were the kids! Although the tours may be a bit pricey, they are worth every penny! My family learned so many interesting things about the city and we were able to better appreciate both the Italian culture and Roman history. I would recommend Eyes of Rome to anyone visiting Rome in the future!

We did the Vatican Egyptian, Etruscan and Raphael Rooms tour as well as the Golden Rooms. This was a fantastic tour. Marta was a fantastic tour guide. We were traveling with my 93-yr-old Mom & Marta tailored our tour to make things as easy as possible for her and still give us a complete and wonderful tour. "Storyteller" is an extremely apt description for Marta's abilities. She answered all our questions and made history come alive. We liked her and our tour so much that when we needed a tour guide for Pompeii, we contacted her company for that tour as well. Our group included my Mom, my sister, my 22-yr-old daughter, my husband & myself.

Our family immensely enjoyed our tour with Maria today. She was on time, friendly, and so knowledgeable about the Vatican museums, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, and Rome in general! If we had just went in by ourselves, we would not have been able to fully appreciate the history and intricacies of the Vatican in the way we did with Maria. The flexibility of the private tour also meant we could ask questions and stop whenever we wanted. The Early Bird entry is a god-send as we didn't have to squish our way through the crowds that form after 9am. We were able to immediately enter as soon as the Vatican opened and had lots of time and space to take nice pictures as well as enjoy the tour in an unrushed manner.

My wife and I were on our first visit to Rome, and for that matter, to Europe. We had been told by a friend to get a private tour of the Roman ruins if at all possible. Our stay was going to be short in Rome (3 days), so we decided to take our friend's advice. They were absolutely correct. Our guide, Giuliano, was terrific and brought excitement and wonderful historical knowledge to all of the areas of Ancient Rome that we saw. He was able to get us through all of the entrances quickly (no lines/fast pass) and straight to the ruins. The fact that he was an architect made it even more exciting as we has able to take us back in time to the time when these incredible buildings were constructed. He was as excited as we were to see the attractions and we loved his energy throughout the tour. I have told many of my friends about this tour back here in the states and I can wholeheartedly say that it was the best thing we could have done while in Rome.

My wife and I booked a private tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum with Eyes of Rome. Our guide was Maria Linda Fusella and she was absolutely outstanding. Her knowledge of the sites and her engaging personality made our tour that much more special. The pace and time spent in each site was exactly what we wanted. We were also able to briefly stop by Circus Maximus, which was not on the scheduled tour. We really appreciated to flexibility to adjust our tour to what we wanted to see. I would highly recommend Eyes of Rome and Maria.

My daughter and I had two GREAT tours with Eyes of Rome! Elisa T. took us through the Coliseum / Roman Forum and did an exceptional job explaining all of the colorful history of both. We were very entertained! Serena was our storyteller at the Vatican, another great tour experience! Her personality really shined through and we felt like we knew her for years. Her knowledge kept us interested and both of us walked away feeling very pleased with her tour. We will continue to use / recommend Eyes of Rome in the future!

As recommended by a relative, we used Eyes of Rome to book this private tour to the Colosseum. Our relative also told us to request Karin Libri as our guide. So this is what we did and it was nothing short of spectacular! Having this private tour with Karin allowed us to bypass the long lines which that part alone was worth every penny. Then Karin's incredible amount of knowledge had our minds swimming with so much history and information. She made it extremely interesting and NOT like we were sitting in a history class. Since it was just my husband and me and our guide, Karin, we were able to get to know each other a bit which was quite nice. Karin was exceptionally sweet and asked us for our opinions on where we wanted to go next. She also did not rush us and let us spend as much time as we wanted in the various stops along the way. After we were finished with the Roman Forum, our tour was done, but as she did not have anything lined up directly afterwards, we invited her to lunch with us. She agreed and we got to spend more time getting to know her. If you are considering booking this tour....DO NOT WAIT ANY LONGER! Well worth it and make sure you request Karin Libri. You won't be disappointed!

My family recently took the Colosseum and Roman Forum Tour with Elisa Taddei. She was wonderful from start to finish. Our tour was also supposed to include Palentine Hill, but some members of our party were unable to climb too many stairs/hills, so she was able to easily substitute a tour of the Basilica of San Clemente. Elisa was very knowledgeable about each location. It rained during our visit, but Elisa managed to make this just add to the fun. I would recommend Elisa for any of your tour needs in Rome.
