We scheduled a special tour of the Vatican with Rosalba (Rosie) Cilione. Rosie took us on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through the Vatican and made the whole experience a wonderful once in a lifetime experience. Rosie came equipped with interesting "guide" books that highlighted certain paintings or statues that we would observe, and as she was pointing things out in the book, she would give a very detailed back story about the various pieces of artwork or sculptures that we were observing, and it made the tour fascinating and exciting. Visting the Vatican can be an overwhelming experience, but Rosie made it super fun and special. We took the tour that gave us special access to various areas, and she also had special access to "fast track" us into various areas of the museums. We even made the "pilgrimage" through the Holy Door located at St. Peter's Basilica as part of the Jubilee year (2025). Our tour also included a car and driver to pick us up at our hotel and take us to where we were to meet Rosie. Rosie was there and waiting for us when we arrived at the location to start the tour. You will not be disappointed with a special tour with Rosie. It was truly a fantastic experience.

People Say About This Tour
Our guide picked us up directly from our hotel, and the experience was incredible from start to finish. The Vatican Museums, gardens, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica were all breathtaking. Our guide deserves extra credit for being so considerate — she arranged for my wife’s 80-year-old parents to use elevators and find places to sit and rest while the rest of us navigated stairs and longer lines. Her attentiveness made a huge difference and allowed everyone to enjoy the experience comfortably. An excellent tour — both beautifully organized and very thoughtful.
Our Private Vatican Museums Hidden Gems Tour with Alessa was fantastic! She was warm, knowledgeable, and passionate, sharing fascinating stories that brought the art and history to life. We loved how she highlighted the lesser-known treasures and made the experience personal and engaging. Alessa made us feel completely at ease and answered all our questions with care. One of the best tours we took in Rome and we highly recommend asking for her!
Private walking tour of the Vatican City with Maria who was excellent. Fantastic knowledge and so accommodating. She made sure that we saw everything we wanted and more. Her historical and artistic knowledge was second to none as was her English. She made the whole experience so enjoyable and we felt that we learnt so much from her. Would definitely book with her again.
Our tour guide, Kate, was amazing. She had incredible knowledge of the Vatican and was able to navigate us through on an extremely busy day there. She was authentic and kind. She was able to answer every question we had and provide more background and information so we could get the most out of our experience. It is an expensive tour but worth every penny.
Our guide, Andrea, was friendly, knowledgeable and made our experience touring the Vatican a wonderful learning experience. It was a hot and busy day but Andrea helped us navigate the crowds and have a comfortable, fun experience. One of the highlights was when he showed us how he could turn the giant sphere in the museum. We learned many interesting facts about history, art and the Vatican. Highly recommend!!
This was an outstanding tour. Our guide was professional and very informative. The tour mostly focused on art but when every inch is completely covered in it..no wonder. Still great bucket list check off.
Katie was probably the best tour guide I’ve ever had. Excellent in all areas, willing to answer questions, and extremely personable. Highly recommend her!
Very long and was given opportunity to skip a few rooms in order to use restroom and get something to eat and drink. Excellent tour guide who helped during entire experience, including getting us to driver to get back to apartment. Took luxury option, which I recommend since it allowed a more personal experience.
If there were 10 stars I’d rate it ten stars. Eleonora was fabulous, highly recommended if you book, ask for her. She is incredibly knowledgeable, treats you like her best friend, and is very fluent in English. The tours were extraordinary , fulfilled the bucket list to overflowing. She guided us through the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican Museums, and the Borghese Gallery, and her art history knowledge and details about special aspects of the art is highly enjoyable.
Une belle expérience visiter le Vatican avec un guide privé c’est top! Notre guide Lorenzo a été parfait par son professionnalisme, sa gentillesse et par son savoir culturel. Je recommande vivement cette visite
Having a personal guide to shepherd us through Vatican City was such a reverent and special experience. Gio Lucca’s knowledge of the Vatican museum’s history, art, symbolism was extensive. It was wonderful to be able to see special areas based on our interests vs a pre-set tour script. We were able to pause and ask more in depth questions in areas that had special meaning to us. Highly recommend.
I am disabled and need private guides when touring. Giancarlo was accommodating to my special needs. He took care of using lifts to avoid stairs and gaining entry to the Basilica through the Holy Doors without waiting in line. He also asked me right away what I wanted to spend time on since this was my third visit to the Vatican museums and all. I loved visiting the Pinoteca for the first time. He helped me get a seat in the Sistine Chapel. I had plenty of time to view the frescoes. We spent lots of time in the Basilica. He showed me some parts that I have never seen. When I mentioned that they were playing my mother’s favorite, Adeste Fidelis, he suggested that I take a video so I could record the music for her. He took me to a good store at the end. The driver who took me to meet the guide was friendly. The only thing missing was that other guides have shown greater interest in me as a person. I like to talk about what I know and past experiences. He didn't engage with me when I told anecdotes. He is knowledgeable and polite.
We booked an excellent "Private Vatican Museums Hidden Gems" Tour. We had booked this particular one because it was longer than many others, and the Vatican requires much time to appreciate. (Even the four hours was, of course, only a small taste.) We were absolutely thrilled with our "Eyes of Rome" Guide, Rosalba Cilione (an Art Historian, whose business card verily calls herself a "Storyteller"). She carefully chose a reasonable set of elements on which we should focus., and provided both broad perspectives and sufficient in-depth (and fascinating) detail. The details (indeed stories!) brought the architecture, paintings, and sculpture alive and made our trip special..
Lorenzo est un guide formidable. Des qualités professionnelles et humaines remarquables. Le Vatican est une merveille.
Valeria was very knowledgeable and descriptive when showing our group the highlights of the museum, Sistine Chapel, and the Basilica. We highly recommend Valeria as a guide!
Emanuele was amazing. What a great guide. Got to see things that the regular tours don’t do. A must see!!!
Rosie was a well informed tour guide and quickly able to determine what might be of interest to our family at the Vatican. Despite the quick changes and adjustments to our liking she was extremely knowledgeable of whatever we were discussing. Very nice person. Very friendly.
Perfect Day. Simon our guide was passionate, knowledgeable, interesting and funny. Best guide we have ever had. Left the day exhausted, happy, excited and smarter.
Careful and engaged guide, as well as accurate transfer. The crowd unbelievable, dreadful and eliminating ability of joy.
The Vatican is vast but our guide Alessandro broke it down into manageable and interesting parts. He asked what WE wanted to see, constantly made sure we were comfortable moving along. The quick access to the museum as well as different areas within was greatly appreciated. He was so knowledgeable and so friendly. We highly recommend the tour and our guide.
Passeio feito sob medida. O motorista nos buscou na hora exata, depois nos encontramos com a guia em frente ao museu. Estava com minha mãe, que tem dificuldades de locomoção, nossa guia Michaela foi extremamente atenciosa, além de nos contar muito sobre a visita. Recomendo!
We really enjoyed the tour and the knowledge of the guide eleonora. She told us the history and background and many stories and was able to bring alive the art in the galleries with her knowledge and understanding and insights. Highly recommend this personal guiding for the tour as it allows you to focus and move faster than the crowds. Vatican is crazy full in peak season so the skip the line and the guide really helped. Without this you would get 10%
Francesca was amazing and very knowledgeable about everything we asked and more. She was also very nice and professional!!
This was such a worthwhile experience, we knew it would be crazy busy, but our private tour with Rosy made it seem so much less stressful and what an amazing guide! As the Vatican Museums are large Rosy ensured we saw what she considered the highlights in each. We learnt so much from her background knowledge of the Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica which she presented in an easy and enjoyable way. The insight we gained from an art history perspective were amazing. Her ability to pass on set in a “story telling” manner was great. We would highly recommend the tour, and if you are lucky you may get Rosy as your guide!
Was a great time and great tour thanks to Anna marie for all the history about the church and saint peter
This was an amazing tour. So worth it and we loved our guide Rafaella. She was amazing and she made our afternoon extra special.
Great highlights of the Vatican tour. Our tour guide (Benjamin) was excellent. He provided just the right amount of detail and information about everything we were seeing. He did not spend 20 min discussing every little detail like some other guides (THANK GOD!) and made the tour interesting and fast moving, which was exactly what we wanted. So we saw what we wanted, skipped most lines and learned many interesting stories. Great tour!
Excellent experience. The pace was perfect for our family of 4. We would absolutely book with this company again.
Overall great tour and guide. We really enjoyed our tour. She was extremely knowledgeable and made the entire experience interesting. Even with the massive crowds we had a great time
If you’ve never been to the Vatican before, this tour is a must. Our tour guide was phenomenal. We learned so much. What a wonderful way to experience this historic place.
Our guide was amazing! We have. Large family and wide range of ages so she was accommodating and patient. She even helped us get an Uber back to our hotel. She was the best! Only bummer was there was a LOT of people so it made it difficult to hear sometimes. It was very hot! But still worth it.
Wonderful experience! I learned so much, my guide was incredibly knowledgeable. It was worth every penny.
Touring the Vatican with Azzurra was like experiencing it with an expert friend. She navigated us easily between the crowds and took time along the way to preview upcoming important pieces with photos on her iPad, so that we could fully focus on and experience the meaningful and historical treasures without having to worry about following and listening to a guide on a headset with a group of people. We loved her sense of humor and vast knowledge, the way she answered all our questions and seemed to pick up on what interested us most along the way. Being picked up at our hotel made it super easy and Azzurra’s lunch spot recommendation was the perfect way for us to share our experiences with each other afterwards. Highly, highly recommend Eyes of Rome and the fabulous Azzurra in particular!
When they say “ skip the lines” they aren’t kidding. Azzurra breezed us through and congestion. I’ve never had any interest in art history but Azzurra made it come to life for my husband and I. We learned so much in a very enjoyable way. The beauty of the Vatican and the political influence of the pope was so interesting. We weren’t rushed through the Sistine Chapel and had as much time as we wanted in St Peter’s Basilica. We chose the private tour with hotel pick up and drop off. Expensive but it’s a once in a lifetime experience. Do it!
Our guide, Maria, was amazing. She helped us get through security and each of the sites with ease and always knew the best spots in each section where we could pause and fully appreciate the amazing works of art. Her detailed explanations of the history and analysis of the key works of art deepened our experience immeasurably. She broadened our understanding not just of what we saw during our tour but of art in general. We were very happy that we took the tour and would highly recommend it.
Wonderful tour! Luigi was an absolutely fantastic guide! With so much to see that was amazingly beautiful, he made the experience so much better. We never felt rushed and he knew exactly how to get us from one great section to another. It would be so easy to be overwhelmed with all of the grandeur and things to see. Such an amazing and knowledgeable person. Highly recommend Luigi!
This tour was a lifesaver for exploring the Vatican. So many things we would have never known in a VAST landscape of things to see. Rosie pointed out the most important things in our limited time, and was a huge help in getting us straight through and skipping the lines. We also opted for the pickup from our hotel which we would highly recommend! The driver dropped us right beside our guide!
This tour will “check the box” for any traveler looking to see the highlights of the Vatican Museums, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Sistine Chapel. However, to “check the box” is to miss out on the incredible works of art and architecture brought to life by Maria on this tour. Her passion for the works and the stories they hold had us enthralled. From Bernini’s architecture and Balachin to the Laocoon and Michelangelo’s Pieta and Sistine Chapel, to Gallery of Maps, and to the long history of the Vatican obelisk, Maria painted a complete picture of the history and reasoning behind these masterpieces.
Outstanding tour! I cannot imagine visiting the Vatican any other way. The lines were extraordinarily long, however, with the skip the line tickets our guide Alessandro walked ua right in. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a great tour.
Absolutely fabulous!!! Our guide was so knowledgeable, pointing out and explaining the smallest of details. With so many visitors, groups and languages surrounding us, it was absolutely worth the private tour!!
Worth the money! We enjoyed our guide who was very knowledgeable and engaging. He was super friendly. We especially liked not having to wait in the long lines.
First, be prepared to walk a lot but also see some of the most amazing, beautiful structures, paintings and sculptures to be seen! We were guided through the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica by our private guide, Michela (operated by Eyes of Rome). We visited on Easter weekend (Saturday), so we were prepared for an extremely crowded day; however, Michela did a phenomenal job getting us through the lines and security, working us through the crowds in amazing fashion. The Vatican museum is full of so many interesting and beautiful galleries, and it was so neat being able to walk through prior Popes' living quarters including works by Michelangelo, Rome's only Leonardo Da Vinci painting, Caravaggio pieces and a room painted fully by Raphael. Since you can't take photos in the Sistine Chapel, Michela had a book with photos explaining beforehand exactly what we would see and what different pieces represented. It truly helped to understand the full meaning behind different aspects of the Sistine Chapel's many works. Next, we toured St. Peter's Basilica which was decorated with flowers for Easter. No words can describe the Basilica, it's size, overall beauty and the amazing works of art it contains. It's baffling that everything inside that looks like a painting is actually mosaic!! All in all, we highly recommend this private tour with both the knowledge of the guide and the ability to skip many of the long lines and big crowds.

Our tour guide was very informative and told the history in a way that made it fun. She was fantastic!
I am so glad I booked this tour with Tonia and would recommend her for any of your tours. She was so knowledgeable and showed you things at the Vatican we would have never seen. The line was wrapped around the wall and she got us thru every exhibit with ease. I would 100% recommend her for any tour in this city. Thanks again, Kim & Elizabeth.
She was a great tour guide - very knowledgeable and made the day fun for our family. We were able to see much more because it was a private tour
Could not have been happier with this tour. Alessandro was the best. He gave us a hidden view of areas we couldn’t normally see. He took all of the pictures we wanted even securing the best views by moving people out of the way. He made us feel like the Vatican was ours. He was so knowledgeable and shared what we should take pictures of. The climb to the Dome was amazing and seeing the view was the best. Recommend this tour and ask for Alessandro!
The guide was very nice and knowledgeable, on time and well verse on the museum. Roman history is my passion so I happen to know a bit more than your average tourist…I even shared some of my knowledge with the guide..specially on Hannibal. I have to say that the tour was the best, I really enjoyed, there was a human connection with the guide that make the experience unforgettable. In one point we were the only person in the animal room, surrounded by art and beauty. The only problem is the city of Rome watch out with the ticket machine at metro stations that take the money and no ticket or change also be careful if you want to exchange money..the rate or outrageous a straight robbery..
Had an excellent tour guide. Who was very knowledgeable and informative throughout the tour. The drivers over and back were also excellent
This was a wonderful experience. We decided to climb St. Peter’s done as well which I highly recommend. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable answering any questions we had and giving us so much knowledge on what we were seeing. She also had some interesting stories that were geared towards my 13yo and 10yo boy and girl. I couldn’t imagine a better experience. The pick up and drop off was also in the nice black vans.
Our guide was a complete professional who exhibited a true “labor of love” in conducting the tour. He made this ‘bucket list’ event for us all the more special by his wealth of knowledge coupled with his warm presentation.
Our guide, Elisa Dattile was so good. She gave so much information as we traveled thru the museum. Unfortunately my wife got overheated due the the intense heat and we had to leave mid tour. If we ever get back to Rome I would love to have Elisa give us another tour. Anyone who is lucky enough to get her as their guide is in for a real treat.
Our guide, Mirta, was fantastic. The tour was very informative, we got to see and experience the Vatican and all of its treasures and beauty. I would highly recommend this tour
Excelente en todos los sentidos, muy buena atención y contenido, nuestra guía Michela hizo el paseo muy entretenido e interesante.
This tour was absolutely incredible. I questioned the price at first, but after seeing the long lines to get in plus the large groups all trying to keep track of someone with a flag on an umbrella, I was happy we did a private Vatican tour. We had a 17 month old baby in a stroller and a 66 year celebrating her birthday, so we needed the flexibility to make stops or rest on multiple occasions. Our guide Tania was phenomenal and even helped carry the stroller up and down stairs. I would highly recommend this tour!!
I have been on quite a few city breaks and always hire a private guide to either walk me around a specific building or for a city tour. On this occasion I had travelled to Rome with my mother (who is partially deaf) and as part of the holiday wanted to treat her to a guided tour of the Vatican. We met our tour guide Rosie outside the Vatican and had a four hour tour, which was, in all honesty, the best guided tour that I have ever experienced. Rosie was brilliant with my mother who is quite elderly and was so knowledgeable - I had studied the religious reformation (England and Luther) at an undergraduate level and Rosie really knows the history of the Vatican complex (including pre church), the Catholic Church (including all of the symbolism of architecture, monuments etc) and she tied this all together fantastically into what was the most memorable experience. If I could rate Rosie more highly than five stars I would.
The guide was terrific. We learned so much and really appreciated the added areas we were able to see as part of the tour. Getting to get out of the crowds and see something special was a real treat.
Our guide, Ornella, was incredible. She was very knowledgable and thorough. She explained the history, the nuance of the art and made it very interesting. The sistine chapel, the rafaello rooms and the climb to the dome are a must.
Such and incredible tour. Our guide was highly educated in the history and made the tour so much more interesting! We also got to go in a private section of the Vatican museum. Super cool experience!
We did a 3-hour classic Vatican tour in the afternoon with our wonderful guide Elisa. We were picked up in a Mercedes van at our hotel on time and met Elisa right outside Vatican. Elisa was a great guide to have given her education in and knowledge of art history and her ability to engage all of us with relevant information including our 12 years old daughter. She took time before the start of the tour to explain intricate details of the fresco and other art works on her iPad so that while being physically present inside, we could focus more on admiring the masterpieces. Logistically too it was amazing to have her with us, as we managed to access several skip-the-line access points. We did the tour on the eve of Good Friday and the regular lines outside the Vatican as well as other venues inside were truly frightening.
This was absolutely a very in depth tour of the Vatican that I could never have planned on my own without missing anything. Our tour guide was absolutely top notch. I highly recommend this tour.
We had our tour with eleonora federici who was our private guide ( english language). She was very interesting, very professional and very nice. We really enjoyed it! It was the highlight of our trip!
St. Peter’s Basilica is staggeringly beautiful, and the opportunity to see areas of the museums off limits to most tourists was well worth the modest added cost. Overall, this private tour was beyond any expectation… and having a lovely and brilliant guide like Azzurra made all the difference. Strongly recommend!
Our absolute favorite part of our tour was our private guide, Rosie (Rosabela). We took many tours over our 10 days in Italy and we would book another Eyes of Rome tour in a second if we could have Rosie again. In fact, on our next trip, we'd like to book Rosie for a full day-anywhere! Not only was she extremely knowledgeable and personable but she bent over backwards to make our tour spectacular-in every way. My husband needed to carry a portable chair with us...Rosie made it happen. We needed breaks, no problem. We went over our time slot, no problem. She was able to put all the art and sites into context for us. Her enthusiasm was refreshing-many of our other guides seemed slightly bored. We loved every bit of our experience and can't recommend Rosie enough.
Wonderful experience and our guide was fantastic. Second time to Vatican but learned so much more. We can’t thank our guide Elisa more.
Tour was amazing. Saw everything possible in the timeframe and didn’t feel rushed. The dome was a great experience. Our guide was exceptional.
The Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica were absolutely a joy to tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The pick up and drop off at our hotel was seamless and made the trip very easy. Our guide provided great narration of all the art pieces and various places throughout the tour. He also pointed out some great spots to take pictures. Highly recommended!
We opted for the transport roundtrip and the top of the Basilica. The transport was on time and efficient. An Uber might have worked just as well and might have been better for us as we could have stayed longer at the end. Our guide was easy to find, efficient, and enthusiastic. We were a tough crowd with two teenagers and my father who is more of fantasy sports guy. She did a great job; and the shock and awe of the whole place was more than enough for all. I had done a Vatican tour on a prior trip and this tour definitely had more sculpture than the prior tour which as I recall had been almost exclusively paintings. I think this was a better tour. This was July 19th. It was crowded and "skip the line" is of extreme value. I don't know how anyone could do the Vatican without a guide. I really prefer small/private tours and this one was indeed our group of six only. The trip to the top of the basilica was a highlight for me and an experience I will always cherish. I had no issue but my parents are in their seventies and did have to stop to rest three times, the guide was attentive and understanding. None of us are "big people" but beware if you are, that last spiral staircase is tight. I recommend any "big people" or claustrophobics look at a youtube video of this climb before signing on. Because of the relatively long wait for the Basilica climb (July in Rome is very crowded with tourists) and my parents rest stops on the climb we had basically no time in St. Peter's before our transport. I kind of wish we had taken care of transport on our own so we could have decided when to leave. Our group consisted of me, my wife, two teenagers, and my parents in their 70's, All six of us put this tour in the top three experiences of our two week three city tour of Europe.
Wow! Marco really knows his stuff! He helped us navigate the crowds, made sure my daughter on crutches had access, showed us the highlights, surprised us with seldom seen corridors, and was patient and thoughtful!
Great private tour, Bi⁰liana was fantastic as a guide. Transportation from and to our hotel was much appreciated and needed due to the heat of the summer. A private guide made it easy for us to ask questions and pursue our interests versus following a crowd. Very much recommended.
Manuela , our tour guide was incredible, smart, super informative, passionate about her job and kept my boys (7 year old twins and 12 year old) engaged and interested. Highly recommend her for this private tour!!
We loved the whole tour however St Peter’s was very special. Michaela was very informative gave us time to ask questions as well as take photo ops.
Marta greeted us at our hotel and every moment was a joy. She was informative and had a great way of relaying it to the entire family. Tour was well planned and flowed nicely. Wasn’t too long and she always found a spot to stop and rest our son’s legs when he asked. She left us at a perfect gelato spot with a list of her favorite restaurants. Should we come back we would do this tour again without any doubt. Request Marta - we would have her for every tour if we could!
My tour guide Denis did an incredible job explaining everything about the Vatican. He was patient and answered all my questions. I especially liked how he waited for me to get my transportation after the tour.
Initially, I was hesitant to book this tour of the Vatican museum based on the cost but as I had been to Rome before I knew waiting in the lines was not going to be enjoyable (especially in the heat) and I also wanted someone knowledgeable to guide us through the vast array of exhibits and information. We added on the colosseum tour which wasn’t much more. There was a small hiccup at the beginning which Eyes Of Rome handled swiftly. Francesco was our guide and he had a remarkable knowledge of the artifacts in the Vatican and colosseum and was able to give us an overview which dramatically enhanced our experience. Without his assistance we would have seen some of the same things but without the context. It was a nice bonus that he happened to be funny and personable. Trust me, this is worth it-ask for Francesco!
Amazing tour with an amazing guide! Elise was an enthusiastic guide with a broad knowledge of all aspects of this Vatican tour. Would highly recommend doing this private tour; very well worth it
We had a wonderful time today touring the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s with Elisa. I can’t imagine trying to do see all we did in a large group. The tour was tailored to our interests and Elisa was so knowledgeable every step of the way. She also has a lovely sense of humor. Eyes of Rome Tours really delivered, and pickup and drop off was timely and very pleasant too. Thank you!
Silvia Monti was so well educated and knowledgable in all things Vatican. She was able to cater our tour to our specific interests. Our adult son Is a philosopher by education and she was able to make sure she adjusted our education and tour to accommodate his very detailed interests. This was a very pleasant surprise. She was very excited to share her knowledge in philosophy and religion.
Francesco was an amazing tour guide with bags of personality. His knowledge was second to none and made the whole experience a trip to remember.
I have been in the travel industry for over 30 years and I have to say this was one of the best tour companies I have ever worked with! Our guide, Elisa, was extremely knowledgable, friendly, and very outgoing, and made the entire day fun for our family! I can't say enough good things - she is one-of-a-kind! We were lucky enough to also have Elisa for a local food tour (will do a separate review as it was also 10/10) and can't wait to go back!
Azzurra, our guide, is fabulous. She is a true professional and lover of history. Our small group of 6 was enthralled with the sights and her expertise in guiding us through each part of the tour made it more interesting. Since it was the Saturday before Easter we weren’t able to see the Basilica (the pope had reserved it), but she made up for it with her storytelling. Our tour included pick up and drop off at our hotel and that was definitely worth it! We highly recommend this tour, and Azzurra!
This was an AMAZING tour! Mitra was the perfect guide for us. She answered all of our questions, shared so many stories and details, and the Vatican and Basilica are just breathtaking. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rome, and would tell them to request Mitra!
Elisa had great knowledge of the Vatican city kids were e gaged too. She showed us how the tapestries move as you walk by them due to the way they were made 3 D like.. We also were able to pray inside basilica
A great experience! Our guide Gianluca did an amazing job showing us the highlights of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter. Getting to go into a normally closed area where we were the only visitors was an absolute highlight of our entire trip! Gianluca was knowledge, informative and fun. He was also flexible, letting us spend time where we wanted. I would absolutely recommend him and Eyes of Rome.
If you have never been to the Vatican this is the tour to take. From St. Peter's Square to climbing the stairs to the top of St. Peter's dome, to the rooms of Raphael and the Vatican museums, the Sistine Chapel and everything in between... Our family had an amazing time seeing the sights and learning the history of the Vatican. 5 Stars!
I LOVED the Vatican tour we had. So much to see but Marco was fabulous and showed us so much more than we ever thought. Loved the hotel pick up as well
Esperienza unica, Gianluca è stato top una persona a modo e super competente. Un’esperienza assolutamente da fare se si vuole conoscere i segreti di Roma
We enjoyed your spirited way of sharing your deep knowledge about the parts of the Vatican we saw. Especially the escape route from the other visitors thus just being by ourselves.
The concierge in the hotel arranged for Barbara to give us a private tour of the Vatican. Cannot recommend it enough. She was proficient in the use of Spanish (language in which we requested the tour), her explanations were very thorough, detailed, complete, and her delivery was quite engaging. It was not like listening to a script but rather a hearing a very knowledgeable story teller tell a tale. We were completely satisfied with the service and would recommend this to anyone looking for a good private guide in Spanish.
Wow, what an amazing experience! My partner and I were met at our hotel promptly. Serena was personable and friendly, very comfortable and easy to get a long with. She asked what our interests were in Rome before even leaving the hotel. I could tell she matched our passion for delicious food and travel. On the taxi ride to the Vatican, Serena gave us some great tips on local restaurants and eateries, and as we passed monuments and famous buildings she told us the story of Rome on the way. (Also, the entrance to the museum is on the far end of the city, so walking would have taken much longer than our hotel had told us, I was very glad we followed her lead on taking a taxi.) The entire experience is well designed and thoughtful. Serena’s knowledge and passion for history and art really animated our tour. She told the story of Rome and it’s beautiful architecture, details about the artists that only a true history buff would know. We could tell how experienced she was leading us through the museum, we never felt rushed, we didn’t have to wait in any queues, and she was very conscious of our time and making sure she gave us the best experience possible in relatively short amount of time (3 hours). At the beginning of the tour she gave the history of Michael Angelo’s Sistine Chapel ceiling, and for good reason, the Vatican museums are like a one way maze, the museums are seen first, then you go through the Sistine chapel in silence, once you exit you can’t go back in. So going into that very monumental space, having background on Michael Angelo’s intention while discovering his painting for the first time really made it special. Normally I walk aimlessly through museums not really knowing much about what I’m looking at... I suggest to anyone that really wants to experience Rome and the Vatican the right way, take this tour or any tour from Serena, it is really the difference between going some where and checking a place off your list, and really experiencing something special.
Our party of six enjoyed the private tour of the Vatican very much. Alessia was an excellent guide: very professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Since it was New Year's Eve, the tour company arranged to pick us up earlier than originally scheduled so that we would be able to see all of the Vatican before its early closing. Alessia expertly led us through the extremely crowded Vatican, and we did not miss a thing. We would not have been able to navigate the day without her guidance. It was truly a memorable tour that we highly recommend.
Our guide, Karim was truly knowledgeable and personable. She made our experience unforgettable, answering all our questions (we had a curious group) and gave us a great overview of an otherwise overwhelming number of art objects. It made our experience unforgettable. We were even allowed to go into rooms closed to the rest of the public and were given plenty of time to enjoy the top art pieces (like the Laocoonte or the Raffaello rooms) I dread to think the alternative to having a private tour: lines, huge crowds and not knowing what you were seeing. Having a tour like this is a must in order to really make the most of your trip!
Francesco was an amazing guide and we were able to bypass lines and see some private rooms. He was very entertaining and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him and this tour.
This was a fantastic tour. We started by walking right in to the museum skipping the lines and before every going into the building heard the story of the Sistine Chapel and things to look for when we got there. Throughout the tour, the depth of information continued as well as seeing some areas not open to the public. As we encountered large groups with listening devices following a guide with a flag, I realized the excellent value of having a great guide for our group of 5, We continued our tour into St. Peter's Basilica and the crypt which was a short but very enjoyable add on. Every aspect of booking was easy, communication was excellent, Luisa was flexible. Go to Eyes of Rome website. They have lots of information to help you choose and prices were more competive than using reseller.
This tour was a bit pricey, but book it now and don’t think twice! For the five of us, this experience was one of the best, most remarkable things we have ever done (and we travel quite a bit and are lucky to get to do nice things regularly). We were a group of five, including two boys (ages 10 and 12) and a grandma (age 75). Rosie met us at the apartment having arranged transportation to the Vatican. Once we arrived, she managed all the logistics and lines without us having to get involved one bit. Beyond the line and logistic management, though, Rosie created for us an experience we will never forget. With Rosie’s expertise, we experienced the Vatican in a way we could not have imagined, and our boys are still talking about it and wondering if and when Rosie can come visit in Colorado. Thanks to Rosalba and Eyes of Rome for a wonderful time that exceeded every expectation!
Our guide, Louisa arrived right on time, arranged travel to vatican and we slipped right through every entry. She was professional, knowledgeable, and an excellent guide. Great way to see the details of Vatican city.
Alessia made our trip to the Vatican a memory we will treasure forever. She was extremely knowledgeable and her passion for art and Rome made the tour very special. She expertly answered all of our questions, she was prompt and professional. She went above and beyond by looking up where my husband's Italian ancestors came from and showing us in the map room. The tour was a highlight of our trip!
We toured the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and Basillica with Francesco and he was fantastic! Very knowledgable and got us to all of the important points in 3 hours. We would request him for another tour if we had more time in Rome. He even waited in the rain to hail a cab for us to get back to our hotel. He also gave us very good recommendations for dinner and further touring around the city by foot. Thanks Francesco!!
Excellent tour. Guide was very knowledgeable. Would recommend to anyone going with family. Skipping the lines is the only way to go. Lines are horrible, very long.
So much to see and do at Vatican. Francesco was delightful in sharing his knowledge of the history and all lovely antiquities there. He made our visit so much more understandable of what we were seeing there. Would definitely use this service and Francesco again!
Karin led us on a very informative, beautiful personal tour. Her pace was just right, moving swiftly when appropriate and pausing for her very well prepared explanations. We were very satisfied by the scope and the depth of our tour. We'll try to get back again.
Our guide, Fabiana, was excellent. She made the crowded atmosphere personal and did an outstanding job explaining details that helped the tour so memorable. I definitely recommend THIS tour to see the Vatican and with THIS guide, Fabiana. She is extremely knowledgable and does a great job sharing it.
Our guide, Rosalba, is experienced, prepared, expert, cordial and patient. Plus she was early when picking us up at our hotel. The tour was all that was promised - transport, timing, easy access to the attractions, and no lines (!). There is really no better way to see these attractions, and no better guide than Rosalba.
Thank you, Elisa for the nice tour of the vatican - you gave us interesting insides while smoothly showing us a way through the crowds! Isabel and Tim
This was one of the best tours I've ever taken! Our tour guide, Rosie, was incredibly knowledgeable and made every effort to ensure that the tour covered everything we wanted to see within the Vatican. She really personalized it to our interests. That and the fact that we didn't have to wait in any of the numerous lines throughout the Vatican museums made this experience well worth it. The hidden gems part of the tour is really fascinating and lets you go into parts of the museums that are roped off. Its a nice break from the throngs of people at the Vatican. If you want to maximize your time at the Vatican with an expert I highly recommend this tour with Rosie! Thank you so much Rosie! We had a such wonderful day with you.
Words cannot do justice to reflect our tour guide, Daniella, she was exceptional. From the beginning to the end she was very informative, caring and adapted the tour to our requirements. We were shown both inside and outside the Vatican and the hidden gems were amazing. Daniella was very articulate in describing the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s of Bascilica. The tour didn’t feel rushed and she expertly navigated us through the crowds so we could see many of the important sculptures up close up. Thank you, Daniella for a wonderful visit to the Vatican.
Our first time in Rome, we decided to treat ourselves to a tour. We were extremely impressed with this one! Katie our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Laura was an excellent guide. Very knowledgable and passionate on all subject matters related to the Vatican, including the art. Excellent at reading her audience and maximizing the 4 hour private tour she gave us.
Excellent tour. Thanks to our tour guide Simone Lana. His historical knowledge and passion surpassed all expectations. We were escorted from our hotel by Simone and the tour began. He explained the history of Rome and various locations we passed along the way to the Vatican. Will definitely request Simone on our next tour.
We highly recommend this tour. Maria picked us up at our hotel. She was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable The tour of the Vatican was wonderful and amazing because of María. Maria is a fantastic guide who was able to move through the crowded areas with ease and take us to the most perfect spots. She has so much information to share and made this a day we will never forget.
Stefania Pistone is the best tour guide we have ever had. Right from greeting us from the hotel to finishing up at the St. Peter's Basilica she was professional, knowledgeable, passionate, and an expert in history. Stefania answered all our questions and we are very fortunate we got the opportunity to spend the afternoon with her! We would recommend Stefania and Eyes of Rome- 100%. Bradlley & Nadine
This private tour was totally worth it. Everywhere in the Vatican was packed. Our tour guide, Maria, was able to avoid all the lines, got us into areas not always available to the general public, and gave us a very insightful tour.
The tour guide met us at the hotel on time and was very informative not only at the Vatican but also while we were traveling by showing other points of interest on the way. On the tour, she didn't rush the tour and allowed us to see some areas, collection of animals and sculptures, which weren't on the general tour. She ensure that we returned to our hotel safely and in a timely manner. Great day!
Elisa was our tour guide for the day and she gave us a lot of history and information on the Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica. Elisa talked to us about what we were going to see and experience, before we entered the Vatican, which helped us tremendously. The Sistine Chapel was breath-taking and the entire tour was really just wonderful from beginning to end. Elisa was very pleasant and warm to us and she did a great job on our tour. Thank you, Moretti Family California, USA
Very informative - relaxed friendly and upbeat . We really enjoyed our tour of the Vatican with Alexandro
We had the pleasure of having Luisa De Dominicis as our guide. All we can say is that she is absolutely fantastic. We were a family of 6 (2 small kids w/ a stroller and 2 aging grandparents w/a walker). She was so patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. She was bilingual in english and spanish which we needed since my parents only spoke spanish. We a recommend Luisa and the tour guide company 100%!!!! Thank you Luisa!!!! Ciao e Grazie!
We had a fantastic tour with Pamela on 10/08/2019. Pamela was passionate, enthusiastic and clearly an expert. She was open and friendly and kept our two teens interested throughout. Would highly recommend requesting her for any tour. Thanks Pamela.
Simone picked up us on time at our hotel and in the cab briefed us as to what and how we would seeing the Vatican and surrounding sights. Entry went quickly and smoothly and we were off on our tour eager to see and live in the life and times of the Vatican et al. Simone had a way of being able to relay facts in a storytelling way. We were glued to his every word. He was able to thread through certain facts that would pop up in a different sight and also teach us why and how. He is very calming and able to navigate the crowds easily and professionally. Having his iPad to back up facts with photos and able to look back and compare was an added bonus to the tour. We wish we could have taken him on the rest of our tours while in Rome. He deserves 10 stars - not just 5.
We were in Rome for 3 days and knew we wanted to see the Vatican. Due to the heat wave and our short time in Rome, I thought a brief guided tour would be the best way to see the Vatican. Fabiana, our guide, was lovely and very knowledgable. She knew her way around very well and passed through the unimportant areas quickly but went into detail with important works and also our questions. We took a taxi from our hotel to the Vatican, skipped the long lines, and were still able to see all of the highlights. The two private rooms that were part of the tour were also incredible because they were away from the crowds and we really got a small personal private tour of that area. I would highly recommend if you want a personal experience with a knowledgable guide so you understand what you are looking at rather than trying to navigate it on your own for a first timer.
Alessia was fantastic! We spent 3.5 hours learning such interesting info about the Vatican and it’s history. The hidden gems were gems! We highly recommend this tour with Alessia
We booked a private group tour of the Vatican, as we were travelling with an 80 year old grandmother. Our Guide, Marta, did a wonderful job tending to this special need, and taking care of everything. All the lines were indeed skipped, chairs miraculously appeared at every possible point, and Marta took the lady by the hand at her own pace. We are very happy with the wide and professional scope of the tour, our guide was very knowledgable and passionate about the art and the history. We were especially impressed with the caring manner the tour was conducted. Recommended!
Our Tour Guide Francesco Grasso was incredible, and I cannot describe how personable, knowledgeable, considerate and how his overall presence enhanced our first visit to Rome and The Vatican. He arrived promptly at our Hotel, and from that point onward we knew we were in great hands. Francesco willingly took photos of my daughter and I. He knew perfect locations for photo ops throughout the Vatican and his fun demeanor was uplifting and extremely pleasant. Our Tour flew by, and was worth every penny. The Eyes of Rome Team communicated with me via email, keeping me updated of our upcoming Tour. It’s a day we’ll never forget! Thank you Francesco and The Eyes of Rome Team we are in awe of our visit!
This was a wonderful tour! Elisa was as knowledgeable as she was sweet. It was terrific that she was able to pick us up from our hotel, have us skip both the entry line and the various lines in the museums and buildings and walk us through the hallways, artwork and glorious buildings that comprise the Vatican. The access to collections that are not available to the general public was also a nice surprise. This was a wonderful way to spend a morning in Rome!
Our family went on a private Vatican Renaissance history tour today with our friendly & passionate guide Alessandro. His knowledge of Rome, the Vatican and all its hidden treasures was only rivalled by the spectacular sights before our very eyes. A totally enjoyable & educational tour. Thoroughly recommend it... thank you Alessandro.
We booked a tour with our travel agent and were very fortunate to get Alma as our guide. It was very hot and crowded, and could have been a very stressful situation with the amount of people. Alma was very intuitive. She was able to read our family so well. She gave us shade breaks. She had us sit while she talked to us, so the kids wouldn’t get so tired. She chose the most interesting facts to discuss. Trust me, not all tour guides do this. She engaged the kids and kept us going through the crowds. She is so knowledgeable about the Vatican and Italian culture. She was a lot of fun, and spoke great English. Five stars for Alma!
My family spent a wonderful afternoon with Simone, the incredible guide from Eyes of Rome, when we had only 1 1/2 days to tour the city. Because we had just come off a 7 day cruise of the Western Mediterranean, in which we were on daily excursions of 50 people, having a private guide for the 3 of us in Rome was perfect. Through a miscommunication of arrangements made by our cruise line, we ended up staying at the Rome airport hotel, 1 hour away from the city center. Upon hearing of our predicament, Eyes of Rome arranged private transfers and picked us up even though we were far outside the city, which was not usually included in their normal transfer policy. Massimo, our driver, was prompt and made the long drive very enjoyable! Simone met us at the very busy Vatican entrance and started the day with a marvelous private tour of the side galleries, pointing out incredible facts as well as making reflections of the history and building of the Vatican itself. His higher education (a PHD from Oxford, no less!) in archaeology was evident in his passion and wealth of knowledge. He was obviously very prepared and showed us pictures from his Ipad to support his explanations, which were extremely helpful. The pacing was great, and he gave us time to take in things of importance, yet kept us moving so that we could see as much as possible in the time we had. Before entering the Sistine Chapel, Simone pointed out amazing things to focus on, providing a full description and explanation so we would not miss a thing. His patience and interest in all of our questions made for a truly incredible time. At the conclusion of the tour, he gave personal suggestions for places to have dinner near the Vatican, creating the perfect day. My family feels this was truly a "gem" of an experience!!!
One of the highlight of Rome was the tour at the Vatican museum, Sistine chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica with Eyes of Rome tours (guide Roberta Di Pietro). She is a friendly and a very entertaining tour guide, she shared her vast knowledge and her insight with us all. It was not my first time in Rome and it will not be my last, I enjoyed the experience and can’t wait for my next adventure. Aloha, Ron
Great tour guide, easy access to Vatican City, quick entrance. It was a wonderful and informative tour.
Our tour guide and the entire experience were outstanding!!! Thank you so much. We loved every minute and our guide made everything absolutely fascinating!
Maria was excellent. She met us (family of 5) at our apartment and escorted us efficiently through an extraordinarily busy Vatican. She was knowledgeable, friendly and spoke very good English. Would definitely recommend her.
The highlight of our 5 day visit to Rome. Stephania was an outstanding guide, a veritable font of knowledge, and possessed of a wonderful sense of humor. Can't imagine how we would have navigated the Vatican without her! Highly recommend!!
Without a doubt the best way to see the Vatican! We went as a group of three and our tour guide Luisa was fantastic. Her passion for art, archeology and roman history was evident and we learnt so much! We had the best day. Thank you so much Luisa!
We enjoyed our trip very much. Elisa was our guide two years in a row. If you have kids under 12, she is a rare gem. She makes it interesting for them, and for the adults. Our ride was right on time, the tour lasted the exact time and we have many new memories. If you are lucky enough to get Elisa you are guaranteed to enjoy!
Rosie gave an excellent tour! Friendly, Funny, knowledgeable! Really enjoyed this time with her! My family thanks you for making this tour so memorable! You are awesome!
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable. Wonderful experience. She picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. Very punctual.
Roberta was an excellent tour guide. The whole family enjoyed her informative private tour. Thank you! See you next time
My wife and I really enjoyed our tour with Gianluca as our guide! He was funny and delightful to talk to as we skipped the long lines and made our way through the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica. Gianluca knew his stuff and provided a lot of interesting commentary about the artwork and structures.
Alma was the best guide EVER!!!! Professional! So experienced! Incredibly knowledgeable with exceptional explanations! And funny too! She recommended a great place for lunch afterwards too. Great tour overall!
Undisputedly a prive tour and guide is the way to go hands-down but the guide truly makes the experience memorable. Elisa Taddei was a gem herself. Her knowledge, experience, genuine enthusiasm and love of history reflected totally in her story telling. Though our trip was short, our 3-4 hours with Elisa made it all the worth while. We could have toured all day with her. We highly recommend Elisa. Grazie Elisa, hope we have the good fortune of meeting again! Ciao for now Kory & Paul
This tour was made especially enjoyable due to our guide Marco. He was very enthusiastic and informative in an entertaining way. Highly recommend this tour.
We were met at our apartment by Valentina and a driver. We were professionally escorted through the tour by Valentina who proved to be knowledgeable and passionate about the tour, sites, and history of what we were seeing. Valentina had an Ipad at the ready for further examples of what she was showing us and to elaborate as we went along. Our group needs were professionally met (one handicap member) and Valentina's English was perfect. We were luck enough to also have Valentina for the Colosseum leg of the tour. I highly recommend this tour and above all, recommend you request this guide.
We have been to St. Peter's and the Sistine Chapel before but on a shore excursion from a ship so it was one of those cram all of Rome in a 6 hour visit. This time we spent 5 days there. This was a post tour add on so it was us and two ladies. When Maria came to the hotel to get us, I knew we were in for a real in-depth tour. Her knowledge of the things we were seeing was incredible. I asked if she was an art major in school or something and she told us she is an archeologist and had participated in some very interesting digs. Some people will take you on a tour and tell you about things in a monotone, like they were bored after having done this hundreds of times. Not Maria. Her passion and excitement describing things was contagious and we hated that the tour had to end. In years of travel, we have only had a few guides that brought the art and history to life. That was Maria. If we are ever fortunate enough to go back to Rome, I would book Maria a year or two in advance to make sure we would be with her. It is Maria Moretti and she is incredible!
Alessia did a very nice job. Excellent English. She walked us through the history of Rome, which ties into the Vatican museums. Emperors and popes and some of the motivations high they did what they did. Our 11 year old has a great time!
This tour was amazing and our guide, Marco, was fantastic! Honestly, we thought we were doing a group tour, we didn't mean to purchase the private tour, but we're glad we did! Personal attention, great guide, plus you get to pass everyone and see extra things that others didn't see. Wonderful! THANK YOU MARCO!!!
Our tour was fabulous! Azzurra was a sensational tour guide, made us feel completely comfortable, and was a fountain of knowledge about everything she showed us. We skipped all the lines, and got into areas that others were not allowed to enter. She made us feel special from the first moment she picked us up at the hotel. We didn't just SEE things - we EXPERIENCED them thank to her. My wife has bad knees, and she kept the pace to one that suited us. It was truly a great time, and we can't imagine we could have enjoyed it any more than we did. The history was awesome. We heartily recommend this tour, and this tour guide! You made our whole trip.
This tour is great. The Vatican Museums are enormous and there is no way to feel like you didn't miss something, because its impossible not to. That said, we had a great selection of some of the more common rooms, but also had the chance to be alone with some of the most impressive statues and artworks created.
We were greeted by our lovely tour guide, Alma Ndoi, at our hotel. She provided just enough information to keep us engaged and full of joy. She had a great command of the English language and kept us moving though a very crowded Vatican. At the end of our tour we said goodbye to a friend (and she sent us off in the right direction for a lovely post- tour Roman lunch).
We were in Rome 23.5 years ago and missed visiting Vatican City, due to bad timing. This time we returned with our kids now 19 & 21 and were NOT going to miss it again! We choose the Hidden Gems tour and had the pleasure of having Marco as our guide. Considering he was a professor and an archeologist on vacation from a project it was a true strike of luck to get so much historical information. Our son called him an Italian Indiana Jones. Lol. We were pleased that we were the only people in our tour, no flags and no lines. What a great experience.
Our guide Stefania showed us all thorough the Vatican museums, Egyptian and Etruscan areas, and the Sistine chapel and St Peters Basillica. She was personable, knowledgable and lots of fun. Navigated us through the crowds easily. Was in no rush and we had plenty of time to ask questions and look at the items of our interest. We had a great time and would highly recommend this tour. Ian & Annie, Bright, Australia.
We had a private tour with tour guide Katie. It was an excellent tour. Besides being pleasant and helpful during the tour her knowledge of the subject and detail of the history was very enlightening. We enjoyed the tour and learned a lot.
Our tour guide Gianluca picked us up at our hotel and knew we only had the day to see as much as Rome as possible. He took us to all the best sites around Rome and along the way explained all about Roman history. I highly recommend him!
Be sure to book Marco M to guide you through the maze of visitors for a close-up, personal, knowledgeable and truly educational experience. His knowledge of history as well as architecture is truly inspiring. Be sure to ask him for his secret Vatican tips!
Today we went to the vatican museum with Marco. No lines, great explanations of the story behind the art. Our guide was very friendly and well educated.
Denis was an incredibly knowledgable and engaging guide, and really made our tour spectacular. There is so much to see at the Vatican, and in three hours Denis provided an excellent amount of breadth and depth into what I now see as one of the world's most fascinating tourist destinations. I would highly recommend Denis, and the private tour — it was a truly special experience.
I was visiting Rome with my mother and two young daughters (ages 10 and 12) and was looking for a great way to mix art and history for both my mom and the girls. Our tour guide Fabi was amazing! She knew exactly how to keep the Vatican fun and interesting for the girls while still showing us all of the amazing history. It was well worth it to do a private tour to have her cater to our various ages and interests. I wish we had done it on our first day instead of our last! Could not recommend more!!!!
Karin was friendly, full of enthusiasm, and navigated our tour brilliantly. She was able to make the tour very relatable for teenagers as well as adults.
We were a group of five and it was a delight to tour the Vatican with Alessia. She was very informative, knowledgeable, patient, and considerate. She took everyone's interests and needs into account. .
I booked the Vatican tour to fill our first afternoon in Rome so we could stay awake. With 7 family members to please, Katie our guide was fantastic. Despite the Saturday crowds, Katie found nooks and spaces for us to see amazing pieces of history and art, thoroughly explaining the Sistine Chapel before we entered. St. Peter's was a highlight, even though everyone was tired. Katie did another great job a couple of days later at the Colosseum, which captivated all the kids' imagination and interest. We had one-way transfer included, so it was very convenient to have Katie meet us at our apartment instead of rushing to find a meeting place. This was the second time we have booked with this company, and it was worth every penny.
We learned so much from Maria - her knowledge of art history is outstanding - and her personality made every minute of the tour fun and engaging. We absolutely recommend this tour! Best thing we did in Rome!
Valeria Canfarini is a passionate and highly educated guide! We enjoyed her insight and enthusiasm and will refer her to all of our friends who visit Roma! Thank you Valeria! Nancy and Mark, Minnesota USA
My wife and I had a wonderful tour of the Vatican with Barbara. She was very informative and had answers to any question we came up with.
My boyfriend and I took a private tour of the Vatican, including the museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica with Valentina. She was funny, interesting, and above all, incredibly knowledgable. She even brought along an iPad with which she was able to show us pictures of details on pieces of art that were too far away, maps, and other historical photographs. We agreed afterwards that had we gone on our own, we probably would have gotten only 5% of the information that we got with Valentina. Needless to say, we were thrilled when we got to go on another tour with her the next day of the Colosseum and Roman Forum. We had yet another wonderful, engaging, entertaining, enlightening experience. Our trip to Rome was that much richer thanks to these tours. We could not recommend them enough! Grazie, Valentina!
Skipping the massive queues is money very well spent - but such aside, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and made the whole experience that much more special. Great being picked up from our hotel too.
Francesco was our guide and was wonderful. Very friendly, good sense of humor, knowledgeable and well spoken. Couldn’t recommend him anymore. Certainly he should be requested
Fantastic. Our tour guide, Eli’s Taddei was on time, friendly, extremely well organized, patient with our 13 person group. She was so knowledgeable. She made it all come alive. Can’t imagine how it could have been a better experience.
Fabiana was our tour guide and she was amazing! We loved every minute with her. She was so knowledgeable and came so prepared with pictures and explained everything in detail. Some other guests that were not in our group were very impressed and wished they were in our group. I would highly recommend booking with Fabiana! Thank you so much you are amazing!
We had a wonderful private tour of the Vatican - that began when Elisa met us at our hotel. We can't recommend Elisa highly enough. Her knowledge of the history of the Vatican and the art within the galleries was fantastic adding so much to our visit. Elisa was also great fun and gave us tips on her other recommendations of things to see in Rome and places to eat. We can't recommend this tour highly enough - and if you do book it make sure you ask for Elisa!
We had an excellent tour with our guide Paola Molinaro. She was knowledgeable, personable & passionate during our visit of the Vatican. I would give her 6 stars if possible. Tour was through Eyes on Rome????????????
My daughter and I toured the Vatican with Marta. She was extremely personable and knowledgeable. It was money well-spent, as we learned so much information and were able to ask many a ton of questions. Marta even gave us some gluten-free restaurant tips. She was great!
Our tour of the Vatican was stress free, informative and inspiring. We were taken straight in past a line that rivaled any I have seen, and got to see and learn about the most amazing place and art collection from a true expert. Elisa was so pleasant and flexible- we even took time for a cup of coffee and enjoyed hearing some of the fun similarities of our lives and families. Elisa is a true gem. Even though she was feeling a bit under the weather, she had a way of lifting the spirits of everyone she met. I wholeheartedly recommend Elisa and Eyes of Rome!
Giuliano was engaging and made the tour fly by so quickly. He engaged with 2 teenage boys who had already had a lot of sightseeing the previous 3 days so Giuliano managed to exceed my expectations by keeping them enthralled. He was knowledgeable and what a treat to get such a great tour by someone who knows so much and was happy to impart his knowledge. Highly recommend!! Being picked up at our hotel and walked through into the Vatican made it all so easy - totally worth the money the queues were huge and it apparently wasn't high season so can't imagine what they would be like in peak season.
We had a very interesting and informative tour, which was expected; however, this particular tour with Maria Ida Moretti was exceptional. Her enthusiasm and knowledge of Vatican history was top-notch, and her personality made history come alive for us. We highly recommend this private tour. It made for a wonderful morning in Rome. We would definitely want Maria to be our guide on any future tours. We felt so comfortable with her and now have a new friend in Rome. Sandra and Don Kunz
What a wonderful way to see the Vatican. Our tour guide Maria Linda Fusella was wonderful. Friendly, and highly knowledgable. Would recommend this tour to anyone.
Best private tour guide I have ever hired...With a master’s degree in art history, a lovely and lively personality and and obvious love for what she does along with pride for the fabulous place that is Rome.
My family of 4 had the absolute pleasure of having Elisa as our private tour guide. We arrived in Rome very early in the AM and knew we were unable to check into our Airbnb. After reading other great reviews we didn’t hesitate to choose this private tour of the Vatican and were not disappointed. Elisa met us at the “Stow your bags” Navona location on time and from the moment we met her we knew our day would be special. She arranged for private transportation to the Vatican and we had priority access without waiting into the museum and access to room of animals which is one of my favorites. We had been to the Vatican 2 times previously and she pointed out things that we had not learned before. She catered the tour to our needs and was patient, kind and her knowledge of the museum was impressive. She obviously loves her work and her passion and enthusiasm made the tour memorable for me, my father, uncle and cousin. When the tour was over she made sure to stay with us until our private ride arrived. We she made us forget that we had just traveled 8 hours and had to adjust to a 6 hour time zone change as well. It was the best tour of the Vatican that I’ve ever been on. Thank you again Elisa. It was truly a pleasure meeting you and if you decide to take this tour I would ask for her personally.
Guliano was amazing, he came and picked us up at our hotel, got us into the Vatican before the crowds. and gave us an amazing tour. It was very information, learning about the Sistine Chapel before entering. We were able to ask him questions, and learn about local Roman culture and past history. It was very intimate, relaxing, and stress free. He even called us a Cab at the end as we were going to another destination after. He also emailed us his favorite places to eat and hang out in Rome! Hands down worth the money.
We did a private tour of the Vatican City with Silvia Monti, and the Colesseum and Palatine with Elisa and cannot speak highly enough about both tours. It was expensive, but so worth the money - I am pretty sure that we will not have the opportunity to tour these places again, so we wanted to make the most of our time in Rome. Both guides knew how to dodge the crowds, and we have photos of ourselves in the Vatican museum without another person in the picture! I think that touring the Vatican without a guide would be such a waste as they have all the little bits of information that are not in the guide book and that make it all the more memorable. We are not big art or history buffs but both guides made it really interesting and we feel like we came away with a degree in both by the end of it! I would highly recommend it, and would not hesitate to use them again if we ever visit Rome again.
The Private Vatican Hidden Gems tour is excellent and outstanding. Our guide was Marco and he was exceptionally good. A very nice guy and knowledgeable.
Elisa met us at our hotel and took us to the Vatican. She was great with our kids (9 & 12) and even managed to work in a stop to get gelato! Highly recommend the tour as Elisa gave us so much valuable information that we didn’t know about and knew her way around. She even got us a private viewing of some of the rooms away from all the crowds. Thanks Elisa!!!
Our guides, Elisa and Louisa were terrific! We spent two days touring all over Rome and they were both incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and a pleasure to spend the days with! I highly recommend our guides and know you will have a wonderful time if you use them as well!
Maria Linda was awesome. She is the perfect mix of history teacher and fun tour guide. She picked us up from our hotel and called for our taxis. We were a group of 6. She arranged to get our tickets and showed us where to wait for her. Everything went really smooth even though it was a very crowded day at the Vatican. We went during high season in July. Maria got the museum guards to let us into a private area where we got to see sculptures and mosaics and a great view from the Vatican overlooking the city. I don't want to give everything away that she pointed out but she was great. We never felt rushed. She spent lots of time with us. I recommend her!
I can't give enough stars for the Eyes of Rome agency and their tour guides. My wife and I had two private tours; the Private Colosseum & Roman Forum Tour and the Private Vatican Museums & Hidden Gems Tour. Stefania was our Colosseum tour guide and Giuliano was our Vatican tour guide. If you want to really understand the history and appreciate what you are experiencing, both Stefania and Giuliano provided us with so much insight during the tour we couldn't have been happier. I highly recommend Eyes of Rome for organizing your tours as their service is first class and their guides are the best. Thank you Eyes of Rome for making our anniversary vacation wonderful! Steve & Erin M.
My 70+ year old parents had an amazing time with Rosalba touring the Vatican. She was patient, intelligent, fun, and extremely knowledgeable. My mom said she “knew every corner of sistine chapel… she pointed out details, oddities that one would not otherwise have seen when walking through.” She has a lot of art history educational training and museum experience and it was evident during the tour as she did a great job explaining the history of artists and artworks throughout the buildings. My parents remarked that they never could tour the site without Rosalba - when they arrived there was an incredibly long line to get in. But as soon as they walked up, Rosalba showed her badge to someone and they cut the line. Incredibly painless and convenient and stress free trip, unbelievably! My mom has some difficulty walking, which I specified to Eyes Of Rome prior to the tour. Going with a wonderful private guide like Rosalba was the solution - Rosalba led my parents through the museum at a pace that was comfortable for my mom. My dad said it was the most engaging and intimate way to see the Vatican, “Like three friends walking through the museum.” Except one of them - of course -Rosalba - was extremely knowledgeable! Thank you so much, Rosalba, for taking good care of my parents. This was a once in a lifetime experience and I think if you hire one private tour during your Rome trip, it should be for the Vatican due to its scale and crowds — and if you’re lucky you can book with Rosalba :)
Our Vatican tour was awesome! Definitely ask for Fabiana if she’s available! She knows her art history and made the tour much more informative than it would have been otherwise! The special treat was special passes to an exhibit not accessible to the general public! Awesome all around!
What a wonderful and informative tour with Maria Ida Moretti. Maria picked us up at our hotel and ordered a taxi for us. We didn't realize that it would just be our family and Maria, which was great. Even on the cab ride over she was full of interesting information about the Vatican and Rome. She was so knowledgeable and answered all our questions. It was a mob scene at the Vatican and we flew past all the lines. We also had access to a private area at the vatican. Maria gave us a lot of information before entering some of the areas so we definitely knew what we were looking at. We were with her for 4 hours, that flew by very quickly. She gave us ideas of where to eat and other places to see. If we go back to Rome, I am definitely searching her out. She was absolutely amazing and such a delight. Eyes of Rome tour company is a must!
Francesco was our guide for this tour. He was entertaining and very informative on all things Vatican. We entered an hour before opening and he managed to keep us ahead of the crowds. At the end of the tour he offered additional information for our stay in Rome which was very helpful. We have used Eyes on Rome for a couple years and I highly recommend them for any of their tours and ask Francesco was great! Thanks Francesco for a great tour!
Today we had the most fabulous morning at the Vatican and whilst the sights, art and history are truly remarkable, Francesco Grasso our guide was truly outstanding. We are two families, with five children, our youngest are two 9 year old boys. A tough task to keep kids of that age engaged but Francesco was able to achieve it brilliantly. His knowledge of the city, his English speaking skills, his humour and his natural charisma ensured our experience was the best it could possibly be despite the boiling hot weather. We can’t recommend Francesco enough. If you want to see the sights of Rome, book him!!!!
Our guide, Karin Libri, met us in our hotel's lobby. She arranged a taxi to take us directly to the Vatican Museum entrance. We walked right past huge lines, got our tickets and were in. Karin spent a few minutes getting to know us and what types of things we were most interested in seeing. During this tour we went into a section of the museum that was blocked off from everyone else. The ease of the process and information provided made the tour worth the cost. The Eyes of Rome company and the Tour Guides are truly OUTSTANDING!
Though this was our second visit to the Vatican, Marco with his vast knowledge of history made this tour a real journey through the ages. It was the highlight of our trip to Rome! I can't imagine anyone better suited to guide this wonderful tour. He was not only very informative but very personable as well. What a wonderful day he afforded us. We will remember this special day and the knowledge he imparted always.
Elisa, is a hidden gem! My wife and I had a fantastic time with Elisa. She picked us up on time. She knows so much about the Vatican and she really loves to share her knowledge with others. She took the time to allow me to take photo’s of everything I wanted. We felt no pressure to “keep moving” with Elisa as our guide. Elisa Is the guid that you want. Smart, personable, and loves what she does. Thank you Elisa for a fantastic tour and afternoon. James Webster
Giuliano was a fantastic tour guide and gave us so much historical information about the Vatican. We really appreciated his enthusiasm for the art and architecture that we saw throughout the tour as well. He also worked with us to make sure we got out of the tour what we wanted by giving us some options throughout our visit to make sure we were seeing the areas of most importance to us. The hotel pick-up and drop-off was also very easy and much appreciated to make the tour even smoother for us. I would highly recommend this private tour and Giuliano for anyone looking to explore the Vatican.
Elisa T was our tour guide for the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel, and the Basilica. She was wonderful! She picked us up at our hotel, we hopped in a cab, and everything was VIP from there. She was so informative, and we truly skipped all the lines. Would use this company again in a heartbeat!
The private walking tour with Fabianna through the Vatican which included drop off and pick up was wonderful. She was so knowledgeable as an art historian, and incredibly friendly. Would absolutely recommend!
Our tour with Elisa was a great experience. She went out of her way to customize the tour based on our interests. For several of us that had been to the Vatican previously, it was a much more rewarding experience with the insight Elisa provided. Highly recommend!
Maria Moretti of Eyes of Rome was amazing!!! She was so knowledgeable and really made our experience of the Vatican truly special. Do not hesitate to take this tour and ask for her!
We spent a morning with Francesco doings the Hidden Gems of the Vatican. We would give him more stars if we could. He picked us up at the hotel early and gave us a fascinating background on Rome and Italy on our way there. He knew how to move quickly and then spend time at key points or areas of interest. His depth of knowledge was superb especially accompanied by photos and images on his Ipad. We learnt so much while thoroughly enjoying ourselves. Francesco is personable and fun. I would highly recommend him to our friends and would definitely do another tour with him when we are next in Rome.
We have been privileged to experience several private tours of the Vatican over the years. This tour was the most informative and engaging yet. Elisa was extremely well versed and interesting in her presentation. She used reference materials and photos from her tablet and her narratives were entertaining. The only disturbing issue that we experienced was the boorish behavior of other visitors and other guides in the sacred space of the Sistine Chapel. On previous visits that space was quiet and peaceful. Very sad. At the end of the tour we were sorry to leave our guide and appreciated her great recommendations for restaurants and other sites to see. Grazie mille Elisa T!
My husband and I are 70+ and our daughter 45 and while it was her first time in Rome we have visited here 3 times before. Our guide, Tank, was very accommodating about leaving us to rest while taking our daughter to see everything. His knowledge was excellent and he went above and beyond to make this visit not only extremely knowledgeable, but also comfortable for 2 elderly parents. This is the best way to see the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica if you are truly interested in learning about what you are viewing. There is not only lots of art, but lots of history in these walls.
Fabiana was our guide and she is amazing! She is very knowledgeable and personable! We did not stand in line with all the crowds. I will absolutely book again with my family.
We thoroughly enjoyed this experience with eyes of Rome and would highly recommend it. Silvia was our tour guide and her warmth and knowledge were second to none. The queue to get in is extremely long and you get to skip it! Although it was very busy Silvia managed to steer us to quiet spots where we could appreciate the treasures. She was also very good at tailoring the tour towards our personal interests and making recommendations for the rest of our stay.
When planning our trip to Rome, friends all strongly suggested a private tour guide for the Vatican. We took this advise and booked the “Private Vatican Tour with Hidden Gems” through “Eyes of Rome.” We are so thankful that we did! Our tour guide Elisa was incredible, in fact, calling her a “tour guide” is a bit of a misnomer. With her, it’s more like touring with a friend who is well-versed in Vatican and Rome history as well as someone who is also charming, witty and fun. Her deep knowledge of the Vatican and it’s history is matched by her knowledge of its physical layout. She got us around long lines, log-jams of larger groups in the galleries, and used short cuts that allowed us to cut at least an hour off the time that we could have spent doing and seeing nothing. Our tour included the hidden gems which were incredible, but, the real gem was Elisa! The price of a private tour may seem a tad bit high at first glance, though in this case, it was money well spent! We highly recommend “Eyes of Rome.”
Silvia Monti is THE perfect guide when visiting such an architecturally, religiously and historically important venue. We were spoken to in a way that made us feel inclusive and respected as people that wanted to learn and see first hand. While the crowds were large on account of Easter Week, Silvia was always able to find a quiet corner where she could take the time to speak to us and explain our surroundings. Her extensive background in archaeology and the Vatican and its treasures was of invaluable interest to us with no question left unanswered.
I can't express how great our tour with Fabiana was. At first, my two young children didn't seem interested in a three hour long walking tour about churches, relics and sculptures. The lines were long, looping around the block. Skipping the line with Fabiana was a tremendous advantage. She was so excited to meet them and immediately showed them the unique details of the Vatican that excited them. She was effervescent and knowledgeable and fun. She answered ALL of their questions and gave details that you could never find in a guide book. In the most crowded areas, she took us through private rooms of the Vatican, and found the emptiest bathrooms and the best souvenir shop. She even was able to help my kids obtain rare and unique Pope coins. She was remarkable and energetic throughout the whole tour. She could read my children and tell when they were tired and needed a rest or a diversion. And she made sure I also got taken care of so I could have a chance to admire and awe the ceiling of my dreams. Fabiana took care of us and made sure we got the most of our vacation.
Elisa was simply fantastic passionate, knowledgeable, patient, concerned we went at a pace that kept everyone engaged, and answered all our questions. Highly recommend her services!
This was a very good tour of the Vatican. The hidd3en gems part was great. We were able to get in to areas of the Vatican that are normally closed to tours. Though a bit crowded due to Italian schools off for their Easter break its was manageable. Our tour guide Claudia was great.
The Vatican is a treasure, with so much to see and understand that it just would not be possible to take it all in without an expert at hand. Enter the knowledgeable, patient, and engaging Giuliano. We could not have asked for a better guide. He made our tour of the Vatican a highlight of our wonderful visit to Rome. We will remember it always. Thanks so much, Giuliano!
Our guide was very well versed on the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. My granddaughters were very impressed with her knowledge of the artifacts. There is not much to add to this site after you use the word fantastic and awesome. Definitely a must see when in Rome
Our tour guide Fabiana was amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better guide. Made the tour much more enjoyable and interesting. Highly recommend doing a private guide for the Vatican.
We thoroughly enjoyed our private tour of the Vatican museum, the Sistine Chapel, and Saint Peter's Basilica. Mr. Francesco Grasso was a knowledgeable guide. He wove an engaging narrative around the museum's exquisite collection, the artists and architects (including the immortal Michelangelo) and, of course, the legions of Pontiffs. By the time we entered the Sistine Chapel, we felt as if we knew Michelangelo personally, thanks to Francesco's deep knowledge and running commentary! Group tours or self-guided options are fine for most of Rome's attractions, but you really should consider splurging on a private tour for the Vatican. There are simply too many beautiful pieces to take in, and, without a learned guide, you might succumb to museum goer's fatigue before you descend the stairs to the Sistine Chapel! Michael & Dora Rome
This is an outstanding experience, especially for families. Valentina is very knowledgeable and she managed to engage the whole family. She was exceptionally well organized and we did not wait in a queue at any point. The pace of the tour was perfect. Not to be missed!
We had an absolutely amazing day with Giuliano at the Vatican city. He was inspirational, empathetic, an amazing story teller, engaging, and generally a great guy. My wife loved all of the back story and information. I loved how he made sure we were well prepared with essential information before/as we did the different tour sections. My older guy Aiden (10) had an amazing experience and couldn't say enough about how great Giuliano was. And even Cody (6) had a great day despite hours of walking!
This was a five star tour thanks to our wonderful guide Maria Linda. The actual rating of four stars is due to the “Hotel Pickup” portion not being given the “caveat” it should have - if your hotel isn’t conveniently located (ours wasn’t) they don't pick you up - no rebate offered.
Loved this tour!!! Excellent guide and we were able to seee so very much to include behind the scenes areas not open to th general public. Very knowledgeable tour guide.
Grazie mille, Serena
On our first trip to Rome, my partner took the very wise decision to book our trip to the Vatican through Eyes of Rome. It's certainly paid off, as our guide, Elisa, is absolutely stunning in her knowledge and presentation of the vast history and art of the Vatican City. Elisa met us at the hotel and was so friendly and helpful, we felt like we'd known her for years. Our mini-van taxi arrived promptly and we were whisked off to Vatican City. Elisa chatted to us and also pointed out important landmarks on the way. On arrival at the Vatican, she took care of the entrance fees, then explained the itinerary and sat us down to look at pictures of the Sistine Chapel on her large tablet. This was because guides are not permitted to guide in the Chapel and, in fact, no one is supposed to speak, or take photos there. I'd asked if we could see the Egyptology Collection, and Elisa kindly managed to fit in the highlights, despite the time limitations. (Including hotel pick up, the tour lasted approximately 3 hours 20 minutes.) We saw the Vatican Museum, including a VIP tour of the Hall of the (Stone) Animals, the Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Bascilica. Highlights for us were the Egyptology Collection, the Hall of (Stone) Animals, the Map Room and the Tapestry Room. Throughout, Elisa showered us with golden nuggets of her breath-taking knowledge. If you want to visit the Vatican, please do it properly. If you go with Eyes of Rome Storytellers, you'll skip the 2 hour entrance queues and have a fabulous cultural experience. And come away with a real sense of this very special place.
Our guide was Fabiana from Eyes of Rome. She was an amazing guide who took us through on a thrilling journey through the Vatican. We loved having a quiet moment in the hidden gem gallery where we could spend some time entirely on our own. Fabiana's masterful navigation of the museums and galleries made our experience seamless. She topped it with giving us a wonderful lunch recommendation - terrace lunch with authentic Romans. Totally worthwhile experience!
Fabiana was perfect!! She picked us up at our hotel, with no problem and she knew exactly where to be and when to be there to make it so we got the most enjoyment out of our tour. She was friendly and nice and extremely knowledgeable. She knew the answers to all our questions. We did not wait in one line for even a minute - that alone was worth the cost! Fabi being so great was icing on the cake! Can't recommend her enough.
Of all the excursions we took during our three weeks in Italy, this tour with Serena was the best of them all. Serena promptly picked us up at our hotel and we traveled by taxi to the Vatican. We were wisked through the lines while Serena was simultaneously recognized by Vatican security and waved through. Serena is extremely knowledgeable about Vatican history and the vast variety of art we accessed. As well, Serena is enthusiastic about her work, is fun to be with, and we felt like old friends by the end of our time with her. Serena is a pro! We are so grateful we met her and felt privileged to be escorted through the Vatican with Serena.
This was a highly informative tour. Our guide explained all that was necessary and when we asked him questions he was a mine of information. He collected us from our hotel and showed us exactly where to pick up a taxi to get back again.
For us, a private tour was the only way to go so that we could go at our own pace. Our guide was fabulous, very knowledgeable and interesting. This tour is a must for anyone in Rome, the art is breathtaking and just gives you goosebumps!! To say The Sistine Chapel is amazing, is an understatement and St Peter's Basilica is phenomenal.
Great tour by Alexander. He provided very much information the normal tourist would not get. It was personal and unique.
I'm glad that we were collected from our hotel as the Vatican area was extremely busy and I would have hated having to figure out where to go. Our guide, Valeria, was wonderful. Her knowledge was fantastic and she was always able to answer our questions. Was great to be able to pretty much walk straight in to the Vatican as the public line was about a kilometre long and it was pretty hot. It was really good to be able to step away from the crowds as well when we entered the rooms that the general public don't get to see. The crowds of visitors were huge however we still got to see everything we wanted to see. Overall it was a fantastic visit - a place that you shouldn't miss if you are visiting Rome.
I can't begin to tell how much we enjoyed our tour of the Vatican with our friendly, Italian tour guide Stephanie. We met at our hotel to taxi over, which was very helpful. Through the whole tour, we were able to see and hear from Stephanie the most amazing sights and artworks. Through the vast, crowded halls and into the Sistine Chapel, we received excellent commentary and instruction, at our own, unhurried pace. We highly recommend this tour!
Great Tour with Lorenzo. He is passionate and professional, I will definitely recommend this tour
The only way to get through the crowds of the Vatican and learn some interesting additional facts. Well worth the additional cost.
Volveremos
Excellent tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide. We have been here before but were taking our14 year old grandson on a trip to Europe. The guide zeroed in on his interest and was wonderful...Highly recommend this tour...
Great private tour of the Vatican with Mossim through eyes on italy. Fun, informative. He was able to move us through the crowds efficienly. Highly recommng.
Dennis was a great tour guide extremely knowledgeable and we learnt and saw things that we had not seen on previous visits to the Vatican. Highly recommend the tour and Dennis.
The only way to tour as we were able to step away and catch our breath for a few minutes in peace away from the crowds!
I am never going to visit the Vatican any other way again. Our guide Sylvie was superb - impressively knowledgeable, rewardingly attentive and companionably relaxed as she shepherded us through the hordes of summer tourists and ushered us into a couple of tranquil secluded galleries on our own.
Alyssa was the most wonderful guide. We were there on a day that was unusually busy and my elderly father was not feeling well. She not only managed to get us through the crowds quickly, but she had massive amounts of information, wonderful knowledge of the Vatican and was very watchful over our large mixed age group. If we had tried to do this without her we would have been lost. She was simply THE BEST guide we have ever had. Please ask for her directly and you will jot be disappointed
Wonderful experience. Our guide..Alicia I think was extremely knowledgeable and very informative. Would definitely recommend this tour to others.
This tour was amazing and our tour guide, Elisa, was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Seeing a private gallery with just our group and our excellent tour guide was the tops to the Vatican tour. I have been to the Vatican museums before, but this was our friends first time. What an amazing experience for all.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Vatican tour with Elisa from eyes of Rome. She was very knowledgable and a brilliant story teller, especially fascinating was the background to Michelangelo's paintings in the Sistine chapel. Good find.
