Vatican Museums Early Morning Prime: First Entrance Tour

Massimo delivered us quickly and safely to our tour guide, Marco. Marco was a terrific guide with wonderful knowledge of the Vatican from a historical perspective. Marco did a very thorough job giving us a great overview of the Vatican. To truly see the entire Vatican it would take several trips, we felt Marco did a great job of putting the Vatican into relative perspective given our time together. It is definitely a beautiful place to visit and highly recommended weather it is from a religious perspective or historical perspective.

- grand place - very big and majestic - art works are astonishing - the church choir is lovely - you need enough time to just sit down and fully immerse yourself to it's history - but very crowded

We had Rosalaba, Rosie, for 2 tours in Rome-the Vatican early bird 7:30 am and the Coliseum underground and floor tour. She was so wonderful! We are a family of 5 (children ages 20,18 and 14). Rosie is so informative, patient, enthusiastic and flexible! We all learned so much and did not have one complaint. She can navigate any Roman landmark with ease. Book Rosalba and you will have an unforgettable experience!

The entire tour was amazing. Our guide Simone was very friendly and went above and beyond for us. His extraordinary knowledge and familiarity took the tour to the next level. If you get the opportunity to book Simone as your guide you will not be disappointed.

Must do for first timers or return visitors with Michela. She has a distinct appreciation for the art, historical and traditional aspects of the Vatican.

Our tour with Alessia was fantastic. She was very informative, navigated the massive crowds extremely well, and ensured we had a plan to get home at the end of our tour. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone looking to go to the Vatican (especially during Jubilee) as there is a lot going on and it can be very overwhelming. Alessia was very friendly, helped us take pictures, and had resources on hand to help with the tour (pictures, magazines, etc.). Money well spent.

Our early morning tour of the Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica with Gianluca was outstanding! Starting before the crowds made all the difference — we explored the Vatican Museums in peace and could truly appreciate the art. Gianluca was knowledgeable, funny, and perfectly attuned to our pace and interests, highlighting pieces we loved and sharing great stories along the way. The Sistine Chapel was unforgettable, and walking through the special passage into St. Peter’s Basilica was perfect. Very quick response to questions and everyone I dealt with was very nice. Our tour guide Luigi was well versed in the history of the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. He was so nice and a pleasure to have as our guide.

Due to Jubilee events we were not able to enter the Vatican early. In fact, we were contacted by the tour company days before the tour that we could not even enter when the Vatican first opened. So, they rescheduled for a start time 2 hours later and gave us a partial refund. This was handled very professionally by them and gave us more time to sleep. We were picked up at our hotel promptly at the new start time. When we got to the Vatican, it was crowded, but with our terrific guide (Mikaela), this was not a problem. Mikaela was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and was able to answer all of our questions. We were a group of 4 seniors and could not have had a better experience. Thank you very much Mikaela.

Wonderful experience with Alessia! Great access and wonderful to proceed at our own pace. Alessia has great presence, and deep knowledge. While the sheer volume of works is overwhelming, she gave us context and perspective, helping us be able to identify the important from the excess.

We had a beautiful day visiting the Basilica of St. Peter, Vatican and the Sistine. Chapel. Alessandro, our guide from Eyes of Rome was both knowledgeable, and added so much to our private tour. Well versed in the history of the church, papacy, art and architecture. If this is your first trip to Rome, a private tour is a MUST. The wait for a regular tour can be 2-3 hours waiting in line.

This was the best tour. We got picked up at hotel in morning got to Vatican 20 minutes before opening. Our tour guide Emanuela started talking as soon as we got in van. While we waited for Vatican to open she gave us history facts then pulled out a copy of the Sistine Chapel and went over what we would see. she took a us to important artifacts and explained them. I would have been lost and not knowing what I was looking at. The Basílica she walked us thru gave us history on everything. You could tell she loves what she does. It was the best tour. She was funny and the history she knows was astounding this was the best tour we had. This is the way to see the Vatican. They then took us back to hotel

The Best Vatican Tour Ever !! We’ve been to Rome several times and this was the best St. Peter’s / Sistine Chapel tour ever. Our guide Francesca was simply fantastic ! Even though we have visited the Vatican previously we learned so much more. Can’t recommend this tour highly enough.

We had the private tour of the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica. Ornella was an excellent guide. We were inspired by her knowledge and were also so appreciative of the way she guided us through and around huge crowds (because of the Jubilee year tourism). She was constantly helping us to the best viewing space and taking us through short-cuts to miss standing in lines and avoiding the crowds. She also was sensitive in changing the schedule and making it a little more comfortable for two 80 year olds on their feet all day!. We would highly recommend the private tour...it is well worth the money and if you can request Ornella...you won't be sorry!

Highly recommend a personal guide. She was fantastic. Francesca (guide) was the very best. She was knowledgeable and helpful, Reminding us near every restroom. She excited me about Roman history and I was astounded by the beauty of it all. It can get warm due to crowds and time of year. It also takes a little longer and doesn’t often have seating which could be difficult for the aged or infirm.

We had a very knowledgeable, experienced & friendly tour guide who met us on time outside our accommodation & took us on the Vatican tour. Ellie was fantastic, she answered all our questions & nothing was too much trouble for her. Afterwards, a driver picked us up & took us wherever we wanted to be dropped (in our case, the medieval area). Very enjoyable.

A first-class experience from A to Z. Our Roman tour guide Carlo entertained us with interesting and often humorous anecdotes about the art, culture and history of the Vatican collections. Carlo was also extremely kind and helpful with my older friend who needed extra time to make her way through the labyrinth of a vast collection built across the millennia. We opted for the luxury tour that included the private driver to and from our hotel near the American Embassy. Our driver was also of an exceptional caliber. The comfort of knowing that he was waiting for us at the end of our tour, ready to whisk us back to our hotel, added just that little bit of extra sparkle we were looking for in our day. Also of note: the tour office was prompt at getting back with me when I had a few last-minute questions about logistics. Overall, a well-run and professional organization that will really take care of you.

Diese Tour mit einem Guide kann ich bestens empfehlen. Wir wurden vom Hotel abgeholt und am Mittag zurückgebracht. Da wir eine private Führung gebucht hatten nahm uns Valeria am Eingang der Museen im Empfang. Sie führte uns durch den Vatikan. Valeria hat Kunstgeschichte studiert und konnte uns viele viele Informationen geben, welche wir nicht wusste. Valeria ist sehr Kompetent, Fachkundig sowie freundlich. Also kann ich nur empfehlen und hat sich für uns mehr als gelohnt. Nicht zuletzt da wir zwei waren mit einer Führung nur für uns. Also wirklich hervorragend. Es war auch das grösste highlight unseres 5 Tägigen Rom Aufenthalts!

Our tour guide Pamela was absolutely fantastic. The best guide we have had in any tour on any trip we have ever taken. This was such an elevated experience. Hard to quantify the difference btw doing it this way and going solo. She was in a league of her own!

An incredible experience from booking, to meeting our guide Siriki who was so AMAZING and knowledgeable along with our driver Gianluca who stayed with our bags all morning and safely got us to the Port for our sail. This tour was absolutely fantastic! Our guide Sylvia struck the perfect balance of storytelling with a modern twist making all the old wildly fascinating! She is a professor and used her iPad to zoom in on details, which made the art and history come alive in such an engaging way. She had an incredible sense of how much information to share—enough to keep us fascinated without ever overwhelming or boring us. She could take the temperature of the group and adjust quickly. I was attentive the entire time (which says a lot!) and even my active 10-year-old nephew stayed engaged. She handled curious, energetic kids with such ease and warmth, keeping the experience fun for everyone. Truly a master at wrangling wild boys while still making the tour deeply informative. Oh, and we walked through the holy doors! Highly recommend—this was one of the best tours we’ve ever taken!

Early morning entry but still very crowded! Our tour guide was excellent and managed to steer us away from most of the crowds! A fascinating experience!

Our experience with Azzurra was amazing! She had so much knowledge about the Vatican and went into a lot of depth about the history of the art and buildings of Rome and the Vatican. Even waiting before the Vatican opened she kept us engaged by using photos to help explain things and prepare us for the things we were about to see. Azzurra gave us a real sense of how the Vatican came to be in its current location and pointed out different places of Rome that were impacted by the Vatican.

Mirta was a wonderful guide. She was very knowledgable and answered all questions. We moved at a leisurely pace and spent as much time as we wanted to in the Sistine Chapel.

Our tour guide was Ala. She is a very heavily studied and educated historian and knew more about the Vatican and the cystine chapel and the multiple museums. Then most of the people who live there she’s traveled the world and was able to share extensive insights on what we were looking at its significance and how it fit into history All it was the best by far to our guide for this event ever we highly recommend her thank you Ala so much

After a few "hiccups" (on my part before our meet-!) up at our hotel, a very pleasant tour guide and private car was waiting for us without any "worries". Francesca was / is very knowledgeable with the Vatican, very conversational (without being over-whelming to spend time), attentive, courteous, and pointed out all the places of interest. She knows how to follow the "priority" lines into Vatican City, and when our family wanted to take a little bit more time at a specific area of interest during our tour, it was never a problem. This was our favorite tour in Italy, mainly thanks to our stellar guide, Katie. She used our time in line to prep us for important parts of the visit. She gave tremendous insight into the architecture, art history, personalities, and cultural influences and did so with amazing foresight- giving us time and space to appreciate the beauty of a place or piece while we were in front of it. She also flexed to add the crypts when we told her that our scavi tour was cancelled. We plan to return to Rome and she will be out first call after we set the dates!

Ala was extremely knowledgeable about all the art work, statues and frescos! She spend about 30 minutes with us prior to the tour in a quiet area to give us an overview of what we would see! This helped expedite our tour.

Our guide was awesome. He seemed to know all the tricks...having us get coffee and pastries across the street from the entrance until the last minute, how to get in quickly minimizing our time in line, and, once inside where to go that wasn't crowded, including getting us into the Sistine Chapel when is was maybe 1/4 full. As an archeologist by trade, he was also extremely knowledgeable about all the art and the history behind the pieces.

We opted for a private tour with hotel pickup of the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica. It was our first full day in Rome and we slept right through our alarm! We are a larger family with four children ages 13-11-8-8. Katie was our guide and from the moment we met her, we knew it was going to be a fantastic day. She was patient and kind and understanding. This was the first time our kids had experienced jet lag or Europe for that matter. Katie rolled right along with it. It was evident that Katie was knowledgeable and extremely passionate about the history and information she was presenting. She picked out special nuggets of information that children would find interesting and they did! I have several photos of them listening intently to Katie while she shows them different sculptures and works of art. It was an eye-opening and wondrous experience for them and we are so grateful that Katie set the tone she did. We had FOUR more tours after Rome and they did so well! In fact a few times they asked each other who their favorite guide was and it was always unanimously Katie. But she didn’t just relate to kids - she related so well with my husband and I. A really good guide curates a tour based on their audience and knows when to tweak things midway through. When there was a delay in the doors opening to St. Peter’s from the Sistine chapel, Katie rolled with it and so did we. This tour was by far the best tour of Rome I have ever personally experienced. She brought the artwork to life through superior storytelling and forged a connection with her guests in a way that many people cannot achieve. Never in my wildest dreams did I think a group of kids would choose the Vatican as their favorite tour after a total of five tours in 12 days but they sure did. I truly cannot sing her praises enough. Next time we find ourselves in Rome, I will reserve her for the entire stay! She is one of those people you meet in a city thousands of miles away from home that you simply never forget. This was a 5-star tour in every way!

Our guide was late but very apologetic. We received a notice two days before that we would not be touring the st marks basilica because of sportsman jubilee. I think this tour is overpriced for what we got.

Definitely worth every penny! We got picked up from our hotel and then the driver took us to tour guide who lead us past all the long lines to get into Vatican City. Such an easy transition. She was so knowledgable and it was great being just three of us (private) as we could interact and ask questions etc. I would book with Eyes of Rome again!

Benjamin was very knowledgeable about everything within the Vatican walls. He took his time explaining things to us and answering questions that we had. He had to deal with my handicap and some workarounds to be able to get us into various parts of the Vatican. He was a wonderful guide. I would highly recommend him

Anything that gets you in the Vatican faster is the way to go, and this tour does. On top of that, Francesca was a fantastic guide. The Sistine Chapel was still closed after the conclave, but everything else was open. Highly recommend.

This was the best choice we could have made for our trip to the Vatican. Our guide Siriki was so wonderful, we couldn't imagine having gone on this tour with anyone else. Great tour. Knowledgable tour guide. Definitely worth getting up early - even at 7:30am and a "skip the line" ticket there were plenty of crowds. Can't imagine navigating this without the help of a guide. Our tour met at a cafe near the Vatican where you can get a coffee and use the restroom. Our entry was for 8am and by 7:45 we were in line for our skip the line tour. :-) Once the doors opened the security check went quickly and our guide was very knowledgable. We were on a private, 4 person tour and we would do it again.

I took my daughter on the Early Bird Vatican tour as she needed a wheelchair and the more room the better. Without Gianluca, this visit would have been A) impossible and B) half as informative. It is true there are lifts at the Vatican for wheelchairs, but many of them are hidden, his knowledge was essential to get around. He was also filled with fascinating knowledge at every turn, you would think he had been born in the Vatican museum! If we come back soon we will be asking him to take us somewhere else. Thank you for an amazing experience.

A really excellent tour. Our guide Emmi was extremely well informed, enthusiastic and covered an immense amount of material brilliantly. The short cut routes on the private tour are invaluable when everything is crowded. It also really helps when your guide is knowledgeable and can focus on interesting pieces and stories. We had a family group (6 adults + 8 month old infant) and were absolutely delighted with our experience. The "Comfort Option," which included a pickup at our apartment in Rome was outstanding. This was a great tour and well worth the money. Our driver took us to Elisa (spelling?), who met us at the entrance to the Vatican Museums, where we entered slightly after they opened. We saw various highlights of the museums, a long set of galleries, and the Sistine Chapel. Since guiding wasn't allowed in the chapel, she showed us photos beforehand, explaining what we'd see and where. Then we took the guided tour shortcut to St Peter's Basilica, where again she showed us around to see the highlights. We spent 3.5 hours, saw a lot, but obviously there was so much more to see. Having a private guide was definitely worth it to maximize our time and our understanding of what we were seeing. Overall a great tour!

My wife and I were blessed to have a top rated professional guide pick us up at our hotel and show us the Vatican without any waiting on lines explaining in detail everything we were seeing. No one can imagine--unless you are there--the logistical nightmare of a tour of the Vatican with thousands of people trying to get through the Vatican from the Museum to the Sistine Chapel to the Basilica to St Peters Square and even to a rest stop. This Viator private early bird tour is a blessing and well worth the extra cost.

This tour was relatively expensive, but more than worth it! Valentina was an excellent guide and our three person family really enjoyed interacting with her. The Vatican is immense and one could spend years uncovering all of its treasures, but this was a great way to see it in 3.5 hours. Grazie Valentina for making this a highlight of our time in Rome!

Our guide Azzurra was perfect. Her knowledge of art and history made every step of our tour enlightening, and she answered all our questions in detail. The collections of beautiful and ancient things that we saw were more wonderful than we could imagine. Our time was well spent and we never felt rushed or overcrowded. This tour of the Vatican was absolutely the highlight of our entire Mediterranean two week trip. Anna Maria Barbaro was our guide and she absolutely made the experience for us. Alex was an excellent guide. The morning started with a car picking us up at our Airbnb exactly at 7:45am. Our ride over was comfortable and informative. The line once we arrived was short and fast. Alex seemed to know all of the “short cuts” so we never waited. He was extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much. This was the way to go. Especially after we saw the line to get into St. Peter’s Basilica after we left. Alex took some wonderful family photos of us that we will cherish forever. He also got us tickets to the Capella Papale before we left.

This was by far the best visit to The Vatican Museum and Saint Peter because of our guide Pamela! She had so many stories to tell and we learned so much during our visit. We truly saw everything with new eyes because of all the distinctions she gave us during the tour. We effortlessly spend four hours and time was flying! It was totally worth the money, and we were sorry the tour was over. Thanks again Pamela. You brought the Vatican alive for us!

Great tour and guide. My one comment is that the museum is so crowded and sometimes loud with terrible acoustics. Even with only three of us plus guide it might have been nice to have an option to use a headset like bigger tours have. Sometimes it was hard to hear our guide.

I highly recommend the Early Bird entry to the Vatican with Storyteller Alessia Rinaldi. She was EXCELLENT! Alessia navigated the crowds, positioning us to best view and hear her stories and historical knowledge of Vatican City, The Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica. She was worth every penny.

If you want to see the Vatican, this is the only way to do it. Lines and crowds are ridiculous. Avoid in 2025 unless you are religious as it is the Jubilee starting Dec 23 2024. Guide was knowledgeable and navigated us to see what we were interested in doing. Transportation was a nightmare. Expected private transfer, not Uber which then canceled on guide. Had to split our group up as taxi for 5 was not available. Not a great way to start the tour.

Great experience; we opted for the "luxury" option and our car and guide were waiting for us at out hotel as expected. Entry into the Vatican was quick and smooth, and our guide really knew how to navigate the crowds and get us to the highlights. There is way too much to see in the Vatican for one day, but we saw an overwhelming amount of beauty regardless, including plenty of time in the Basilica and Sistine Chapel. Our guide was an archaeologist and had some unique perspectives to share on many items in the Vatican museum.

We had a great time with Elisa. She was so knowledgeable and so much fun! Really crammed a LOT into a short window of time. Would highly recommend. It was expensive but that was, in part, for the driver. I was very surprised to learn we were only driven there and after the tour was over, we were on our own. No return ride. Fortunately Elisa helped us find a taxi and get home. So, the tour was very nice but it was pricey and one-way.

Great tour guide. Picked us up at the apartment we were staying at. Went right to the front of the line. Very helpful. We did not see much of the museum as our time was limited and too much to fit in for 3 hours. We made the Sistine Chapel before the crowds arrived and was able to see St. Peter’s basilica. At the basilica there is a ton of renovation to get ready for the jubilee next year. So the over experience was a little muted. But in the 3 hours that we had with our guide, she was excellent and very engaged with our kids.

This experience was well worth the money in our opinion. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and also knew how to get us through the museum in a way that would allow us to see everything before the insane crowds of tourists rolled in. We learned so much about the history of the Vatican and the art work. If you aren’t able to see the Vatican first thing in the morning, it’s very difficult to appreciate the magnitude of the space and everything it contains. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you only plan to see the Vatican once. You won’t be disappointed!

Eleonora was phenomenal! She paced the tour perfectly for a family with 2 young adults (19 and 25) and 2 adults (71 and 63). We received radios to hear her better and she found spaces for us to sit and listen to her knowledge about the Vatican art away from the large crowds. Although it was the busy season, doing the 7:45 am tour was definitely the right choice rather than starting at 9 or later.

Our tour guide Silvia was everything you hope for. The lines and crowds at the Vatican are not to be underestimated. Sylvia would not be detered, she led us through the Vatican and Sistine Chapel hitting all of the must sees while not getting bogged down in the crowds. We never felt crowded or rushed just felt like the first to arrive at every point of the tour. She was professional with a clear love and appreciation of the history on full display. We were lucky to have her! Don't skip this private tour it is worth every penny and then some.

I had been on a similar tour in 2016, but my family had never been here so we did this tour together. Compared to 2016, tours in general are a lot more expensive and you don't get the same access to back rooms and the Sistine Chapel in a small group that you used to. This tour was along with the general public, although there was priority line entrance to the museum and St. Peter's. But you are right along with the crowds (although it wasn't that bad on the morning of our tour). That all being said, the tour was very good and our guide, Marina, was excellent.

One of the highlights of our trip! We feel so lucky to have gotten to take this private tour with Azzurra. It started off with the luxury of having Azzurra waiting for us in the lobby of our hotel to then be whisked off in a private car to the Vatican. Azzurra was very knowledgeable and full of fun and interesting facts on the history of the art and the church. The Sistine Chapel was awe-inspiring, and then we were taken straight away to the exclusive connecting stairway from the Sistine Chapel to St. Peter's Basilica (which itself is a sight to see, and a nice reprieve from crowds), there we continued to find more beautiful sights, the whole way lead by Azzurra giving us the background. After the tour concluded, Azzurra was kind enough to give us some local highlights to do in the area, which we found to be above and beyond. Truly the best part of this tours was that it felt like we were on an outing with a friend, not on a tour with a cookie-cutter scripted guide. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO AZZURRA! And take this tour! It's worth every penny!!

Our tour was amazing. We were a group of 7 people. 4 adults and 3 teenagers. Our guide was awesome. Very informative and excited about the history of the Vatican. He loved that my dad could answer a lot of his questions about the info on the history of the Vatican and the Borgias. E even kept my teenagers engaged. I'm sorry I wish I remembered his name! I only had 1 day to explore Rome so I booked the best - Eyes of Rome through Viator. When the nice black sedan picked us up at our Airbnb, our guide was sitting shotgun and started telling us about Rome immediately. The tour was supposed to be only Vatican-specific, but I felt we got a big bonus having a knowledgeable guide with us while the car moved from one part of town to the other. I look for and appreciate the expertise a Blue Badge Guide brings to the tour and our Guide ( I wish I could remember her name) was - knowledgeable, easy to understand, and thoroughly enjoyable.

Pamela was our tour guide. Her business card reads “Storyteller” as her job title. But she is an art historian and a superb one at that. You can tell how much she loves to educate tourists and is extremely knowledgeable. I recommend Pamela!

We had such a great tour with our guide Denis. He was fun, extremely knowledgeable, and was able to bring the art and history alive for us throughout the tour. So much to see and absorbthat it would have been overwhelming to not have a guide. Highly recommend him as a guide and would recommend the early tour to avoid larger crowds.

In 2022 we toured the Vatican with a tour company that was terrible. We were hesitant to revisit, but booked a trip with friends who had never been so we had no choice. Our last tour of 2022 was a walking tour of Rome through Eyes of Rome with Azurra which was by far the BEST tour of our trip. We booked this tour with Azurra as our guide and she was exceptional again! Her knowledge is second to none. Her personality is wonderful. Her recommendations for dining were spot on terrific. We are so glad we revisited the Vatican because having Azurra as our guide has made all the difference. I would give 10 stars out of 5 if I could!

We spent an informative morning at the Vatican with Ornella, the perfect guide for this significant site. We knew we wanted a private experience so the guide could cater the tour to our interests and pace. Ornella was outstanding at every turn, giving us more background on areas that were of interest and not dwelling on those in which we expressed less interest. I highly recommend going to the Vatican as early as you can stand to get up while on vacation. We arrived around 8am and it continued to fill up all morning. The crowds really are overwhelming. Or Ella was able to expertly weave through them to get us to the places of interest. Do beware of pickpockets and panhandlers is the area outside the Vatican. We saw a lot of this activity as we sat outside for lunch and walked away from the area to the Metro.

This Vatican Tour was fantastic. We opted for the pick up at our VRBO since we had an early bird tour. Our tour guide, Julia was wonderful. She was so knowledgeable about the history and could answer any question thrown her way. She made the tour fun and informative at the same time. I would definitely suggest this tour. Kudos to Julia!

The fact we could skip the lines and see the museum and Sistine Chapel without the large crowds was a huge plus. I wanted to book a private tour for my family since we did not have a lot of time and there is so much history at the Vatican. Our guide Alessandro was amazing. He is an archeologist and really knows his stuff. Plus he was entertaining and fun to listen to. He made the tour interactive, suggested great places for pictures, and really helped navigate the Vatican in a manner that did not make it overwhelming. We did not have all day to spend, so he did a great job of helping us navigate it all within a few hours. I would highly recommend him as a guide.

Out of all of the tours I have done in rome this was my favorite. There's just so much to see. If I had to change anything it would be not getting the private transfer to and from, because you need more time to explore on your own. I had to go back another day and it was packed trying to get in without a guide to skip the lines.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. It was wonderful to have a guide all to ourselves. Going first thing in the morning is ideal as the crowds are still manageable. Highly recommend

Our visit to the Vatican was made better because our guide Alessandro was so knowledgeable and shared so much information. Alessandro went out of his way to find short cuts and assistance as mobility was an issue for me. Visiting the Vatican was always a bucket list item, and the tour we had was better than expected.

We booked the Vatican Museums Early Morning Prime Tour: VIP Entrance. We were picked up at our hotel by our guide, Elisa and a private driver which was a nice change from hustling across the city. From the start, our guide Elisa was SO kind, approachable and extremely knowledgeable. She really took the time to explain the paintings and sculptures in a way that was exciting and interesting - there were so many hidden gems within the frescoes of Sistine Chapel, it would be easy to miss them all if it were not for Elisa explaining them and calling them out. She made the tour for us and the experience was top notch!!!

Dennis (our tour) guide was supremely knowledgable about the entire Vatican and literally an expert on the priceless Art. The early bird lower crowds also made for a very pleasant experience.

Great way to experience the Vatican! This was my second time taking this exact tour, and this time unfortunately felt very rushed, we couldn’t even keep up with our guide sometimes… Also, the price of this tour did increase by $200 from last year (Aug ‘22) it’s a little pricey now for what you get imho. Note - recommend checking your tour date for St. Peter’s Basilica closures online PRIOR to booking, although it can close unexpectedly, there are specific months/timeframes that are known closures

Our tour guide was exceptional! She was extremely knowledgeable about everything in the Vatican. We were able to skip a very long line to enter and be able to view the Sistine Chapel and St. Peters Basilica before it got crazy crowded. I would highly recommend this tour.

The early morning/skip the line tour is the only was to see these beautiful sites. We walked right past the long lines and right into the Vatican museum and were on our way. This was one of my favorite tours. Katie Farrah was our guide, and she was so knowledgeable. She took the time to explain Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel frescos so when we went in, we could easily follow the work. It was spectacular. I felt so close to heaven in that chapel. We went on to St. Peter’s Basilica and saw the Pieta and what a beautiful basilica it was. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Do not hesitate.

Left at 8am for early entrance into the Vatican museum. Manny made it look easy as we maneuvered through the crowds. He’s got out tickets quickly and off we went. He was so knowledgeable and it showed. This is a must do!

Easy access with a knowledgeable guide Who made our experience personalized. Considering the lines that went around the entire area, we walked right in after waiting about two minutes, and it was worth every penny to get access.

We had been through the Vatican Museum/Sistine Chapel/St. Peter's Basilica tour previously and knew that one of our group members would not be able to keep up with a regular tour. We opted for the Private Early Bird Vatican Tour. Our guide/storyteller was Marina Muravyeva. We could not have asked for a better guide. She met us at the agreed meeting point on time and got us past the long lines outside the museum. Inside, she guided us through security and worked with the museum staff to access elevators that would take us to the different levels. Marina, took us at a pace that was good for us and showed/described things we did not know about from our previous trip. We recommend her highly.

Our trip to the Vatican was fantastic. Our private pick-up arrived on-time and our tour guide, Elisa, was awesome. She was super friendly, spoke excellent English and most importantly was incredibly knowledgeable about our tour stops. She gave us detail facts and interesting stories about the popes, painters, and sculptors that we hadn’t heard before, which made the tour all the more interesting. We did two Private Tours with Marta who was a very warm and incredibly knowledgable guide. We did both the Vatican Early Morning Tour and the next day we did The Colosseum/Roman Forum Tour. Both were absolutely wonderful and filled with so many "Wow" moments as we learned the incredible history of these ancient sites. I feel like there wasn't anything Marta didn't know about the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. We had kids aged 10 and 8, and Marta was able to explain things in a way to be interesting and understandble to all ages. I believe both tours represented excellent value. We debated doing a Small Group tour vs Private because of cost, but I am very glad we went with Private. When it got a bit hot, or the kids got a bit tired, we had the flexibility to stop for a rest and a drink, we didn't have to compete with others to ask questions, and we went at our own pace. We had a very limited amount of time in Rome, and the tours were an excellent use of that time. Marta met us at our hotel and we were driven to the start of the tours. There is no way we would have learned so much doing a big group tour or an audio tour. This is the way to do it if you can! We hope to come back to Italy, and our first stop will be another Eyes of Rome Tour, and perhaps the some of the other Italian cities that they tour.

Excellent private tour. We bypassed all the lines and was immediately in the Vatican Museum! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and got us in great locations to see all of the highlights of the museum and the Sistine Chapel. This tour was a highlight our our time in Italy

We had an amazing time seeing all the art and statues in all the art collection rooms. The high light was seeing the Sistine Chapel and the Basilica they were a sight to see and much lager than we anticipated. Dennis was our guide and this is worth every penny! He was super knowledgeable and met us at our hotel. We easily got to the front of the lines and it was not that crowded. Also the guide was excellent at explaining what we were looking at and the history behind it. He was really kind and answered all our questions. This was a real highlight of our trip!!!

Our Tour Guide was lovely and so knowledgeable. An amazing experience. Our car picked us up from hotel and dropped us off. Lovely clean car good A.C. So thankfully we went for early morning as we beat the heat and crowds. Definitely worth the money.

The only way to visit St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums! Our driver picked us up at our hotel and drove us to meet our guide, Ala. Ala had our tickets already and we were able to get right in which is huge as the lines are LONG. This was a private tour so we were able to move through the Church and the Museums much easier than the large groups. Ala was very knowledgeable and gave us a great lesson on the history of Vatican City.

Our guide was excellent, provided great details during the tour. Having a private guide was well worth the money as we got in early with no wait and hit the highlights on our own pace. Being picked up and dropped off at our hotel was also a great benefit. Definitely would recommend this tour.

Private transport on time. Azzurra, our guide, is passionate by her job (history, architecture, religions, story telling) very friendly, knowledgable, passionate. She gave us a lot of information verbally and using her iPad for pictures. Also very entertaining for our teenagers. The tour of the Vatican is amazing and a must. We had the most amazing guide Francesca who is passionate about art history and very knowledgeable about the various aspects of the Vatican tour, the history, and interesting stories related to the various museums and areas of the Vatican. She was friendly, helpful, and patient, making the whole tour experience more enjoyable. The tour itself was amazing and well worth it especially being able to get in ahead of the major crowds and bypassing some of the lines.

Truly a great and very informative time with Alessandro. Everyone loved it and learned a lot! I don't think it's worth going through the Vatican Museum without a tour guide such as this.

Our tour guide Ala (I hope I have the name right) arrived on time, and we took a taxi to the Vatican. I found my phone missing from my pocket when I got off the taxi. Ala went out of the way to call the hotel to identify the taxi they had arranged for us while we used the find-my-phone feature to locate the phone. It turned out that I had left the phone in the hotel's front lobby! With this out of the way, Ala gave a wonderful tour of the museums, the basilica, and the grounds. The overall cost is worth it, as you avoid very long lines (at least saved 2-3 hrs of wait) and also get a very personalized experience. I doubt anyone would visit the Vatican multiple times; you might as well get the best experience if you can afford it.

Great trip -our guide Lucy was excellent, and really made the tour interesting. Skipping the line in the heat was such a luxury- having a a fantastic guide was just a bonus!

Our guide was brilliant and funny. She highlighted only the most interesting items in the Vatican Museum, and provided us with enough background to really appreciate what we were seeing.

Our wonderful tour guide Azurra was smart, considerate, patient and extremely knowledgeable. She took us on an incredible 3-hour tour of the key sites of the Vatican, including the Sistine Chapel and the Basilica. She explained the work of Michelangelo before we went in, which was extremely helpful. She was also patient when we thought we had lost one of our kids! She also waited while we all prayed inside one of the chapels. Afterward, she recommended a delicious restaurant- Emma - which was a short walk away. It was a delicious lunch and one of our favorites in Rome! Try the Aperol Spritz!

We truly enjoyed this tour. Our guide Dennis was awesome and very informative. It is beyond worth spending the money as you literally walk by massive lines of people waiting to get in as you enter with no line at all. You also enter one hour earlier so there are less crowds within the museums, Sistine chapel and St Peters. Highly recommend

The Sistine Chapel is worth it all. Our guide, Emmanuel, was exceptional. Very personable and again another “small tour” where it ended up being just us. Unbelievable our guide navigated the entire process for us, explained in amazing detail the history and significance of what we were seeing. Plus we got pick up and drop off which was a treat considering how warm and exhausted we were.

Our guide Manuela was the best. She was such a pro and so kind to us. The details she provided us would have surely been missed had we visited on our own. As a group of four she was able to guide us around much larger groups to get up close to the sights for a better experience.

We had a fantastic tour with Denis. My husband and I had been to Rome and toured the Vatican previously. This time we had our four teens with us and we learned much more on this tour than we did last time. This is because Denis is an excellent, knowledgeable guide. He made the tour interesting, approachable and friendly. We have already recommended him to others who are coming to Rome.

Mirta was an excellent guide on our Vatican tour. Being one of the first groups in the Sistine Chapel and Basilica right after it opened was ideal. Giving four stars instead of five because we had booked a private tour which was cancelled due to some guides being sick, and we were rescheduled into a six person tour.

We had a wonderful experience on this early bird tour of the Vatican. The crowds were large, but our guide was able to navigate us easily past the longer lines and onto the grounds. Our guide was extraordinarily knowledgeable of the history and themes on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel as well as some St. Peters. We had two younger children with us and our guide made them feel included and welcome - she was incredibly patient with my son's questions! The transfer to and from our hotel made everything seamless.

Amazing sites in one of the most famous locations on Earth! Denis was a fantastic guide! Very knowledge. So many things to look at and explore. Could have spent all day there. We added a climb to the top of St Peter’s dome at the end of our tour which was really cool to look out over the city. Denis showed us how to get in line easily.

Our guide , Alex, was a gracious and thoughtful guide. He asked about our interests and catered the tour to our family. This was our favorite tour in Rome and we highly recommend a guide for the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel.

Our guide Mariachiara was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable and friendly, and knew exactly how to navigate the crowds. I will say this, if you spend your money on one tour, hsve it be the Skip the Line tour. While we still dealt with crowds, when we pulled up to the Vatican entrance, the line for those who had not purchased Skip the Line (or those who tried to get tickets the day of) was literally blocks long. Our guide said that line can be hours to get in. Paying for a private Skip the Line tour was worth every single penny. We highly recommend this tour and our guide Mariachiara!

Visiting the Vatican is truly a life experience. With the crowds being so immensely large taking this private tour is the best way to see this treasure. Our guide, Rachel, was personable and provided us with information we would not have gotten in a group tour or on our own. She ensured that we knew the history of what we were seeing, and made sure that we didn't miss any of the significant pieces in the museum or elements of the Sistine Chapel. Her knowledge was beyond impressive. This is by far the only way to truly see the Vatican. Well worth every penny.

We had an amazing tour with Francesca! When you see the length of the regular Vatican entry line (in the hot summer sun), that alone is reason to pay for early entry! It also helps that you have your own private guide to really help explain the art/history and point things out that otherwise we would have completely missed. We compared our photos of the museum hallways to a friend who was there with a group just 2 hours later and the difference was stark! We had total freedom to move around, get close to the art, take photos, etc. I highly recommend this tour if you can swing it for an amazing experience.

Our driver and tour guide were on time, but out driver was not very friendly. Our tour guide on the other hand was very knowledgeable and made the tour around what we were most interested in. She was kind and knew her way around. I would use her services again, but don't request a driver.

This private guided tour of the Vatican was just fabulous! The luxury option with hotel, pick up and drop off was so nice. Our guide came with the driver and we were dropped off and picked up right there at the Vatican entrance/exit. Marcella, our guide, was fantastic and we learned so much from her. She expertly navigated the crowds to get us to the best points of view and really hit all of the highlights. We breezed right through and got to see everything we wanted up close. Early bird tour was the way to go. Thank you Marcella and Eyes of Rome for this 5 star experience!

My wife and I chose the luxury option of pickup before the tour and drop off after. It was just the two of us and our guide Ella. She was fantastic and knew so much about the Vatican, the Vatican Museum, The Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s. The date of our visit was 5/25. Understand that even though it’s an “early bird” there will still be throngs of people in the Sistine Chapel and the museum. Our concierge told us that would be the case before we left and he was correct. The comments from others stating that they found few people is not what we experienced. The Sistine Chapel was packed completely. If not for Ella, we would not have been able to navigate it easily. It was pretty much the same experience in the Basilica - too crowded to easily get close to The Pieta - although we did it after about 10 minutes. In conversation with other tour guides, they said that the crowds increase and peak at 11:00 so we likely did benefit from the early start. Also understand that we felt the “one on one” interaction was very valuable for us. This was our first time so we wanted to be taught and led by the hand. Mission accomplished for us. I would recommend this - but it is expensive compared to other tours so you need to feel comfortable that the value is from the very good care they take of you and the one to one conversation.

Excellent tour. Minimal queuing and a very knowledgeable guide. Heartily recommended. We had seen the Vatcan under our own steam before, and would much rather take a tour such as this one.

We had a very special private tour just myself, husband and grandson. It was so enjoyable to hear all the same things and not wear earbuds. Our guide was always anxious to answer our questions and very knowledgeable. The only negative was we asked the driver to take us to piazza but he suggested another restaurant near the colosseum. The food was ok and we never got to the piazza which we had wanted to see. I would suggest not changing your plans because someone you don’t know suggests it. I think maybe he had a pickup closer to the restaurant than our piazza.

Rosealba was an amazing guide, taking us through the Vatican Museums and highlighting artifacts and museum pieces that were significant. Her vast knowledge of the museums was impressive and she readily was able to answer all questions we had. As for the Sistine Chapel, words cannot describe its beauty and the awe I felt gazing up at Michelangelo’s work. Thanks again Rosealba for an amazing tour and an unforgettable experience.

This is a must visit while in Rome. As an art lover, this was absolutely spectacular. The lines were insane and must've taken hours to get through. With this skip the line tour, we were picked up at our hotel and waited for 10-15 minutes to start our journey through the Vatican museum and St. Peter's Basilica. Our guide Camilla was wonderful. It was obvious that she loved the Vatican museum and really enjoyed talking about the wonders inside. One small complaint was that we feel like we missed seeing somethings because of the time allotted for the tour. I feel the splurge was worth it after days of walking throughout Italy.

I was hesitant to book a private tour given the price but this was worth it. We were picked up at our hotel and easily entered the Vatican, skipping the massive lines. Our guide, Eleonora, was just wonderful. We learned so much on this tour from her and she knew just what to focus on, giving us the necessary history and pointing out key pieces of art along the way. There wasn’t a question that went unanswered and the speed at which we moved through certain areas was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Thank you Eleonora!

The private tour was well worth the money. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and customized the experience based on our interests. Plus, skipping the lines to get into the Vatican and beating the crowds was amazing.

I booked this tour for my family of 3. The tour was very good and the guide was excellent. I gave it a 4 out of 5 only because the price was very high. However the quality of the tour was amazing. It was incredible to have a private tour with a guide who pointed out so many things I don't think we would have got on a group tour. I do wish the price would have been more affordable.

This tour was incredible. Katie our guide was exceptional knowledgeable and really customized the tour based on what we wanted to see. Pick up from the hotel was seamless. Massimo was early and after was willing to drop us off anywhere in Rome! He even recommended a restaurant, drove by to show us where it was and made us a reservation! Here's to exceptional service.

We met with our guide Eleonora and our driver in the hotel lobby and were driven to the entrance of the Vatican museum... there was already very many people standing in queue to get in - and I thought that this would take a long time - but Eleonora took us through a separate entrance and we entered before everyone else .... lovely... Eleonora made it a very special experience for my wife, my brother and his wife and my self... it was obvious that Eleonora knew everything we wnated to ask about and much more .... it was an outstanding experience.... and the group was only us 4 and the guide and that was really treat for us - Eleonora was really perfect and very attentive to our needs during the time we spent with her... at the end of the tour there was a driver and a car waiting to take us back to the hotel - we asked to be dropped of in the city-center instead ... no problem very recommendable - and well worth the price

I loved the special attention. I went outside my tour group. I thought it was a little pricey until I got back with them. I was the only one with great pictures. The early bird, low crowd was so worth the experience.

This tour was well worth it especially during the busy Holy Week! Gianluc was professional and extremely knowledgeable. He was waiting for us in our hotel lobby and we were off! We passed the endless line of people to quickly start our tour. GIanluc was a wealth of information. He kept us engaged and on our toes--asking us questions as we took in the amazing sites. The tour passed quickly and will be memorable.

Our host was amazing. Vatican was packed, but we could walk smoothly thanks to skip-the-line. 3 hours may sound long, but not a single minute was boring or tiring. Even our kids enjoyed everything. Getting into the details was so much fun. Raffaello ftw!

I can't stress enough how important it is/was to have a guide like Silvia taking us through the Vatican. She was incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of the Vatican, the museums (art, sculptures, maps) , the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica. We added on extra time to see the Papal Crypts as well. The crowds at the Vatican can be overwhelming but with this tour you get the edge by getting in quickly and early. Having a guide that knew all the highlights and important aspects to point out on our tour was the icing on the cake! I can see how his type of tour done alone could quickly become totally overwhelming. So I can say without any hesitation that this tour is a must for the Vatican and especially in the busy summer tourist season. We went in mid-march and it was already beginning to ramp up. All and all it was an amazing experience for our family and Silvia was great working with our teens to ensure their questions were answered and that they stayed engaged. Can't recommend this tour enough. 5 stars!

From the moment the van picked us up at the hotel until we were dropped off we had an absolutely fantastic time. Silvia greeted us like we were old friends. She was very professional and very fun. We walked straight into everywhere we wanted to go. No lines whatsoever. Had time to stay longer where we wanted. It is the only way to tour the Vatican. I would recommend anybody visiting Rome to take the time to tour the Vatican and to spend the extra money (well worth it) for the early bird private tour. Ask for Silvia. She’s the best!

It was just my husband and I and the tour guide. We felt as if we had a lot of rooms to ourselves, some of the other tour groups had about 30 people.

Early morning tour of the Vatican is very worth it if you can splurge for the tour. Maximo our driver was an absolute delight and Marco our tour guide was fantastic. We definitely felt secluded from the other groups and felt that the information was personalized. This was my second tour of the Vatican and this tour can’t be beat ever. The information and sights that I took away this time was phenomenal. Marco broke down the information so perfectly that we could relate understand and return stateside feeling like experts! ????????
