This tour was relatively expensive, but more than worth it! Valentina was an excellent guide and our three person family really enjoyed interacting with her. The Vatican is immense and one could spend years uncovering all of its treasures, but this was a great way to see it in 3.5 hours. Grazie Valentina for making this a highlight of our time in Rome!

We were a family with three teenagers travelling in Rome. We visited first the Forun Romanum and after The Coliseum. Valeria was very competent and friendly. She has extremely good historical knowledge and was able to transport it light and understandable.

Wir können eine solche private Tour absolut empfehlen! Valeria Canfarini ist sehr kompetent in Kunst und Geschichte, spricht gut deutsch und macht die Führungen auf eine sehr sympathische Art! Wegen Covid haben wir uns jeweils vor Ort getroffen - das hat immer tiptop geklappt.

Wir hatten die Hidden gems Tour mit Valeria gebucht. Ich würde sofort wieder eine Privattour buchen, man erfährt soviel mehr als mit den grossen Gruppen vor Ort. Valeria hat sich sehr bemüht und uns alle unsere Fragen toll beantwortet. Man hat gemerkt das sie sich sehr gut auskennt und sich selbst sehr dafür interessiert. Ich würde aber nicht mehr die Hidden Gems tour buchen. Ich dachte es wären mehrere Räume, mindestens 2 die man sonst nicht sehen kann. Leider konnten wir nur einmal die Absperrung übergehen. Ich denke mit einer anderen Privattour von Eyes of Rome durch die Museen bekommt man auch viel zu sehen.

Valentina was prompt, frendly, and such a wonderful guide on our tour of the Colosseum and Forum. She loves her work and is so knowledgeable about the history and archaeology of the area. This was definitely a highlight of our time spent in Rome. Valentina was a phenomenal guide (and it was hot!!), she engaged our teens and made for a wonderful few hours at the Colosseo and Forum. We had been to the Colosseum on a very rushed group tour the year before, we saw and learned so much more. Worth every penny and will only be doing private tours from this point forward. Fantastic tour with Valeria, a true Rome local with so much information to share, but she did not overwhelm us at all. She had great pictures to share which helped our understanding. Our time went by too quickly. She was also really sweet, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with her! Thank you so much, Valeria! :)

We were met at our apartment by Valentina and a driver. We were professionally escorted through the tour by Valentina who proved to be knowledgeable and passionate about the tour, sites, and history of what we were seeing. Valentina had an Ipad at the ready for further examples of what she was showing us and to elaborate as we went along. Our group needs were professionally met (one handicap member) and Valentina's English was perfect. We were luck enough to also have Valentina for the Colosseum leg of the tour. I highly recommend this tour and above all, recommend you request this guide.

My husband and I were treavelling throughout Italy with our 4 children ranging in ages from 6 - 17, and didn't want to get stuck in a large tour group that would lose our childrens' interest. We decided to go with Eyes of Rome for their priavite kid-friendly tours in Venice, Florence and Rome, because their customer service was beyond compare, They were quick to respond to my numerous emails and were so helpful in planning each of the tours. The tours and guides did not disappoint! Each one was so knowledgeable and friendly, and they all went above and beyond to ensure we learned and saw as much as we could. Tiziana was fabulous in Venice, Ulrich was a pleasure in Pisa, Lorenzo was excellent in Florence and Valeria was fantastic in the Roman Forum and Colisseum. Definitely recommend this company and the guides - we were so happy with the entire experience!

My boyfriend and I took a private tour of the Vatican, including the museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica with Valentina. She was funny, interesting, and above all, incredibly knowledgable. She even brought along an iPad with which she was able to show us pictures of details on pieces of art that were too far away, maps, and other historical photographs. We agreed afterwards that had we gone on our own, we probably would have gotten only 5% of the information that we got with Valentina. Needless to say, we were thrilled when we got to go on another tour with her the next day of the Colosseum and Roman Forum. We had yet another wonderful, engaging, entertaining, enlightening experience. Our trip to Rome was that much richer thanks to these tours. We could not recommend them enough! Grazie, Valentina!

Our tour of the Vatican was stress free, informative and inspiring. We were taken straight in past a line that rivaled any I have seen, and got to see and learn about the most amazing place and art collection from a true expert. Elisa was so pleasant and flexible- we even took time for a cup of coffee and enjoyed hearing some of the fun similarities of our lives and families. Elisa is a true gem. Even though she was feeling a bit under the weather, she had a way of lifting the spirits of everyone she met. I wholeheartedly recommend Elisa and Eyes of Rome!

This was our first trip to Rome (and Italy) and we scheduled this tour the day after landing. Valentina was waiting for us downstairs when we walked down and gave us a great introduction to the city as we drove to the Colosseum. She navigated the crowd at the Colosseum well, making our entrance very easy and gave us a great understanding of the history of both the Colosseum and the Forum. She was also just generally very friendly and easy to talk with as we travelled. My two teenage sons said this was the best part of their trip to Italy. I highly recommend!

Valeria Canfarini, our guide, was excellent. We visited Rome 5 years ago and thought we had seen the Coliseum and Forum----wrong! Valeria filled in so much detail we (just my husband and myself) felt we were visiting for the 1st time. The tour is well worth every Euro. Valeria built in sufficient time for our pics and travel (walking) time between the Coliseum and the Forum. We were not rushed but kept a good pace in order to enjoy every second of our 3 hour tour. Recommend: good walking shoes and water, plus a good camera.

A highlight of our first ever trip to Italy was the time we spent with Valentina. It wasn't just that she was able to bypass the lines with the advanced tickets and knew exactly where to go. It was her knowledge and attention to details that really made this tour special. She knew exactly where to get that perfect photo and we really appreciated her use of her iPad to help us visualize what some of the ruins originally must have looked like. She was very good at making this a true private tour, based on our interests. She let us move at our own pace and still made sure we didn't miss anything. She even helped us pick out just the right gladiator figurine to bring home, making sure of its historic accuracy. We highly recommend using Eyes of Rome and are very glad that our hotel (The Inn at the Roman Forum - see our review) uses their services.

She is interesting, energetic and passionate about her work. She knew exactly all the ins and outs and saved us so much time. She had our interest the entire time! This was clearly the highlight of our time in Rome. Our guide, Valentina with the tour company Eyes of Rome, was excellent. She met us at our hotel and once at the Vatican, our wait time to enter the Vatican was minimal. Valentina could not have been more friendly, helpful and informative. She pointed out a great many details we would have missed. Being able to visit an area not open to the general public, all alone, away from the crowds to view the magnificent statues was a special treat. It was a pleasure to have a guide who seemed to enjoy her job. Valentina’s English was great, so she was very easy to understand. A private tour with a knowledgeable guide is definitely the way to go.

Our tour guide Valentina, was incredible and provided a wonderful experience by not only providing a great history lesson of Ancient Rome, but indulged us adults in our interests of Rome (The food) and our son's interest in Rome (the pigeons). It was a truly an enjoyable experience and day.

I'm glad that we were collected from our hotel as the Vatican area was extremely busy and I would have hated having to figure out where to go. Our guide, Valeria, was wonderful. Her knowledge was fantastic and she was always able to answer our questions. Was great to be able to pretty much walk straight in to the Vatican as the public line was about a kilometre long and it was pretty hot. It was really good to be able to step away from the crowds as well when we entered the rooms that the general public don't get to see. The crowds of visitors were huge however we still got to see everything we wanted to see. Overall it was a fantastic visit - a place that you shouldn't miss if you are visiting Rome.
