We toured the Vatican with Stefania, and had an outstanding day. Picked up at our accomodation on time, delivered adjacent to the entrance and after a quick coffee, skipped the lengthy queue and then into the tour. Stefania was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, great historian, very deft at manoeuvres through the crowds, and very funny and personable. And told us lots of other things about Rome. We would very happily go on an Eyes of Rome tour again, and have recommended them to friends on our return home. Ian & Annie. Melbourne.

I was fortunate enough to take a private tour of the Colosseum in Rome with Stefania. We "skipped the line" and walked right in with a simple display of Stefania's badge upon entrance (which was amazing). Her knowledge of the history of the Colosseum and Ancient Rome was impressive enough on its own, but her passion, energy and radiant smile was what I remember best, as well as her mastery of the English language. She even showed up with an extra umbrella which was so appreciated as I did not have one with me. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Eyes of Rome!

If you are going to Rome, I definitely recommend you to book a tour from "Eyes of Rome". We booked the "Private Early Bird Vatican and St Peter's Basilica Tour". We are a family of seven, in ages from 14 to 80 years. Communication before booking was very comfortable. Beatrice patiently answered all our questions. Tosca is the same too. Our guide Stefania was really friendly, knowledgeable and zealous. Also, she helped us at the end of the tour. At the end of the tour we saw the crowd, so definitely worth the money of the "Early Morning Vatican Tour". The private transfer we requested was timely and comfortable. There was an unpleasant event in the museum. "Eyes of Roma" had no fault. However, the phone was called and apologized to us. Very kind behaviour. Thank you for everything.

We had the best day of our trip 7 years ago visiting the Vatican and many other sites in Rome with Stefania. We were thrilled when we were able to book another tour with her today!. We had an incredible day at cacere marmantino, the Roman forum, coloseum and the Basilica of San Clemente. Only in Rome can you literally walk through 2000 years of history(in one site!) and Stefania made it feel like it was our backyard with a close friend. This company is efficient, follows up on all the details and makes the day effortless ! We cannot thank Stefania enough for making our tour in Rome yet again a never to forget day.

We did two private tours with Eyes of Rome - Stefania was our excellent guide. Would thoroughly recommend. Very well organised and responsive (we changed pick up and drop off location at the last minute: no problem!). Made a huge difference to our enjoyment of the visits and certainly we got a lot more out of the time spent at the sites than doing it by ourselves (not to mention that we did not have to queue and managed to avoid the crowds...). Stefania is a remarkable educator. On a sparkling morning in February, we met at the Piazza de Popolo, marveling at the light, and Stefania helped us understand how the Renaissance architects were architects of light, using their design sense to heighten the theatricality of the natural light in the place we were standing, centuries after it was designed, and still sparkling. From the Caravaggio paintings we learned about together in small, out of the way churches, to the Pantheon whose history came alive thanks to Stefania, we look forward to returning to Rome and to the chance to explore more with Eyes of Rome as our guides.

Stefania Pistone is the best tour guide we have ever had. Right from greeting us from the hotel to finishing up at the St. Peter's Basilica she was professional, knowledgeable, passionate, and an expert in history. Just a note to say I enjoyed my Vatican tour with Stefania. She was just a energetic tour guide and answered all our questions. The highlight of our 5 day visit to Rome. Stephania was an outstanding guide, a veritable font of knowledge, and possessed of a wonderful sense of humor. Can't imagine how we would have navigated the Vatican without her! Highly recommend!!

Although it was a rainy, windy morning when our tour guide from Eyes of Rome met my sister and me at our hotel, we could immediately tell that our time with Stefania would be special. She warmly greeted us and made sure we had the necessary gear for the weather. After our taxi ride to the Colosseum, we quickly swept past the long lines standing in the rain at the entrance and started our tour. Stefania's background is in art history, but she demonstrated an excellent background in the history of ancient Rome. Her presentation was vivid and engaging, never lapsing into mere recitation of facts. Eyes of Rome refers to their guides as story tellers and the description is perfect. We could visualize the raucous crowds at the gladiator games and other public spectacles. Stefania also helped us appreciate the architectural achievement of this massive amphitheater. Likewise she brought to life the Forum as the center of public life in ancient Rome. Stefania responded readily to our questions and tailored her presentation to our interests. After the tour was completed and we asked for a recommendation for lunch, she walked us to a restaurant patronized by locals and away from the tourist traps surrounding the Colosseum. Finally, we asked for suggestions for churches to visit and she sent an email with several suggestions with descriptions. Based upon her suggestions we visited the only medieval church in Rome, Santa Maria sopra Minerva, which was delightful. We left feeling we not only had enjoyed a great tour -- we made a new friend!

Our guide Stefania showed us all thorough the Vatican museums, Egyptian and Etruscan areas, and the Sistine chapel and St Peters Basillica. She was personable, knowledgable and lots of fun. Navigated us through the crowds easily. Was in no rush and we had plenty of time to ask questions and look at the items of our interest. We had a great time and would highly recommend this tour. Stefania was our guide for the Vatican tour and the Colosseum tour. She was highly recommended to us and now we know why. Her depth of knowledge and passion for Rome was contagious. We thoroughly enjoyed our tours and felt we received tremendous value for our money. We hope to have the pleasure of another tour with Stefania in the future.

We did two tours, the Colosseum (including the Underground and Hypogeum) and the Early Bird Vatican and St. Peter's Tours, both with Stefania. We are a family of four and had our 12yo and nearly 15yo with us. Stefania was an excellent match for a family. We had another outstanding and highly qualified guide in another city following Rome, and the kids thought she paled in comparison to Stefania. Of course they appreciated Stefania's knowledge and willingness to answer questions, but they loved her energy and enthusiasm. One of the kids remarked that she never made us stop moving just to stop, look, and listen to her talk, by which I think he meant he felt fully engaged the entire time. I highly recommend the Underground and Hypogeum at the Colosseum if it is available and you are able to spend extra. The workings of the Colosseum from below were the most interesting to my teen and really added context and color to the history of the building. The more or less private view from the highest tier far away from the bulk of the crowds was also worth it. It was worth getting up early for the Vatican and St. Peter's tours, because we were able to enjoy the Sistine Chapel and Raphael Rooms before it was SRO. We were even able to find multiple seats from which to peruse the Sistine Chapel ceiling. As a Renaissance art lover, I was disappointed that we didn't get to see more of the rest of the Vatican's collection, but if I'm honest, we saw all that the kids realistically had patience and interest in. We visited on New Year's Eve, and much of St. Peter's was closed off in preparation for the next day's papal mass. That was a disappointment, particularly because I'd been waiting 17 years to see Michelangelo's Pieta again. I would recommend inquiring when papal masses will be and try to schedule around them, particularly if you are visiting around the Christmas/New Year's holiday. I highly recommend Stefania as a guide and would hire her again if returning to Rome.

Our guide Stefania Pistone was fabulous! Our tour was very well conducted and including all of the sites at the Vatican that we wanted to see. Stefania was personable easy to talk to you in very patient with all of our questions. She was very helpful in helping us plan our afternoon excursion as well. I would highly recommend Stefania and the eyes of Rome to anyone traveling to Rome.

Can i give 6 stars? Over the years, we have worked with several guides, and Stefania is the best. She tailored her tour to us, and was SO informative without lecturing. What a fabulous story teller, with such wisdom and depth in her stories.

What a wonderful experience! In addition to obvious benefit of skipping lines and avoiding crowds, Stefania made entire experience so relaxing and informative. Were able to customize by adding Baths of Caracalla, which were a real highlight of trip.

Stefania was our Colosseum tour guide and Giuliano was our Vatican tour guide. We did the Vatican Egyptian, Etruscan and Raphael Rooms tour as well as the Golden Rooms. This was a fantastic tour. Our guide Stefania was excellent, she was very punctual, very pleasant and extremely knowledgeable on the history and artwork of the Vatican. We were lucky enough to see the Sistine Chapel again. Stefania’s knowledge on the history of the Popes and artwork made this a very memorable trip. Can highly recommend her as your guide for the Vatican.

She is very knowledgeable, easy going, funny and made our time in Rome one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. If you want a tour that is customized to your interests and level of knowledge, you will not be disappointed with Eyes of Rome. We had the above mentioned tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum with the addition of a Catacomb. On another day, we had a tour of the Vatican Museums, St. Peter's, and the Sistine Chapel. Both tours were full of interesting information and stories tailored to our wishes. Each of our tour guides (Stefania and Serena) were delightful and helpful with advice for other aspects of our stay in Rome. Money well spent for 2 of the main things we wanted to see and learn more about.

My wife, my 12 year old son, and I did the tour of the Colosseum and Forum with Stefania and it was excellent. I could not recommend it more. She was very very knowledgeable and a very engaging guide. She went out of her way to make sure the tour was personal for us. We all would have liked to spend more time with Stefania.

Stefania arranged a perfect day in Rome - a private tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Circus Maximus, and Pantheon. She tailored the trip perfectly, giving us enough (but not too much!) detail on the history of all of the sites, plus helpful tips on where to find the best food and wine bars :) Stefania really made the attractions come alive. Rather than just looking at ruins, we felt like we got a great appreciation for the stories of ancient Rome. Very educational, entertaining, and interesting at the same time! For the rest of our time in Rome, my husband and I found ourselves saying "this would be so much better if Stefania were with us" frequently. I wish we had booked more time with her!!

I can't begin to tell how much we enjoyed our tour of the Vatican with our friendly, Italian tour guide Stephanie. We met at our hotel to taxi over, which was very helpful. Through the whole tour, we were able to see and hear from Stephanie the most amazing sights and artworks. Through the vast, crowded halls and into the Sistine Chapel, we received excellent commentary and instruction, at our own, unhurried pace. We highly recommend this tour!

This was our first visit to Italy. We booked the Colosseum tour and the city walking tour on the same day. Our guide was Stafania Pistone. I have to say I was a bit hesitant about booking the city walking tour as I figured I could easily find all the sites myself. The city walking tour turned out to be the best thing I did, Stefania not only showed and explained all the sites to us, she took us through the back streets that we would never have found on our own. For lunch we went to a nice little wine bar that she had recommended. It was also excellent. The following day we had the early bird Vatican tour booked and before parting on the first day, Stefania told us she wasn't sure if she would be giving us the tour or not. We were glad to see her walk through our hotel door that morning to give us the Vatican tour. Stefania is patient and walked at our pace and never once made us feel like we were rushed. Stefania also knew we had a few more days in Rome and was kind enough to send an email to us with a few more sites that we could visit on our own. I am sure all the guides at eyes of Rome are excellent, but if your fortunate enough to get Stefania as your guide, consider yourselves blessed. Chris and Beth

Stefania Pistone Of Eyes of Rome is knowledgeable, interesting, entertaining, flexible and just simply a delight. We booked a tour on our 4th day in Rome after spending the first three touring with our high school. Our teenage boys (ages 12-16) were tired of tours and fought us. However the adults knew that even in 3 days there was still a lot we had not seen. Estefania was engaging from the very begininning. She made it interesting. The boys asked questions impressing her with their knowledge and thirst to learn and she tied things and made connections for them that made the history interesting. I highly recommend that you book a tour.

I was referred to Eyes of Rome by a colleague of 25 years. I have been to Rome several times but never used a tour company as I am fairly independent when traveling. This was a trip for my two daughters who have been taking college level Art History courses, and I wanted to make their first experience enriching and memorable. The company was very responsive and attentive with quick and thorough responses. I asked for a well educated guide, who was fun, and easy to understand and not too intense. They EXCEEDED all expectations! Stefania is warm, engaging, passionate, fun and has university degrees in Art History! I cant imagine not having a great time in Rome, but I will say, Stefania made it the best trip I have ever been on and I have traveled the world!
