Reviews About Rosalba C.

We scheduled a special tour of the Vatican with Rosalba (Rosie) Cilione. Rosie took us on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through the Vatican and made the whole experience a wonderful once in a lifetime experience. Rosie came equipped with interesting "guide" books that highlighted certain paintings or statues that we would observe, and as she was pointing things out in the book, she would give a very detailed back story about the various pieces of artwork or sculptures that we were observing, and it made the tour fascinating and exciting. Visting the Vatican can be an overwhelming experience, but Rosie made it super fun and special. We took the tour that gave us special access to various areas, and she also had special access to "fast track" us into various areas of the museums. We even made the "pilgrimage" through the Holy Door located at St. Peter's Basilica as part of the Jubilee year (2025). Our tour also included a car and driver to pick us up at our hotel and take us to where we were to meet Rosie. Rosie was there and waiting for us when we arrived at the location to start the tour. You will not be disappointed with a special tour with Rosie. It was truly a fantastic experience.

We had Rosalaba, Rosie, for 2 tours in Rome-the Vatican early bird 7:30 am and the Coliseum underground and floor tour. She was so wonderful! We are a family of 5 (children ages 20,18 and 14). Rosie is so informative, patient, enthusiastic and flexible! We all learned so much and did not have one complaint. She can navigate any Roman landmark with ease. Book Rosalba and you will have an unforgettable experience!

We had the pleasure of our tour guide Rosie Cilione for two different tours during our time in Rome. She was phenomenal, really connecting the dots and providing context for our tours of the Vatican/St. Peter’s/Sistine Chapel and Roman Forum/Colosseum. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history. Highly recommend!

I booked the Colosseum Underground semi private tour for 6 through Marriott Activities. We had Rosalba as our guide. She was AMAZING!!! She studied history and lived in Rome for a long time. She knew so much. You can’t get a better guide than her. The tour was terrific! This was our third tour of Colosseum and the first one of the Underground. A lot of fun!

Rosalba was a wonderful and cheerful guide on our three hour tour of the Roman Forum and Colosseum. She brought history to life with in-depth stories and details that I wouldn't have noticed had I simply gone on my own, and as an added bonus handled all of the ticketing and communication with security and entry staff. If you find yourself in Rome I highly recommend Rosalba if you're looking for a guided tour.

We booked an excellent "Private Vatican Museums Hidden Gems" Tour. We had booked this particular one because it was longer than many others, and the Vatican requires much time to appreciate. (Even the four hours was, of course, only a small taste.) We were absolutely thrilled with our "Eyes of Rome" Guide, Rosalba Cilione (an Art Historian, whose business card verily calls herself a "Storyteller"). She carefully chose a reasonable set of elements on which we should focus., and provided both broad perspectives and sufficient in-depth (and fascinating) detail. The details (indeed stories!) brought the architecture, paintings, and sculpture alive and made our trip special..

Rosie was a well informed tour guide and quickly able to determine what might be of interest to our family at the Vatican. Despite the quick changes and adjustments to our liking she was extremely knowledgeable of whatever we were discussing. Very nice person. Very friendly.

We had such a fantastic tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum. We were met at our air bnb by our guide and the private driver who whisked us through the city to the Colosseum. Our guide Rosalba (Rosie) was just fantastic! She was so knowledgeable and delivered the history of the Forum and Colosseum with ease while keeping our interest the entire time. I can't imagine not having her to guide us through these incredible sites. We would have missed so much. We also had Rosie take us on the Vatican tour the following day. Again, she demonstrated her deep knowledge of the history of the museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica. With so much to see she was able to give us enough information to make the tour very enjoyable (age range for the 4 of us was 21 yo to 59 yo) and not overwhelming. I am so grateful that a friend recommended Eyes of Rome and even more grateful that we had Rosie as our guide!

We did a private tour with Rosalba while we were in Rome, and it was because of her that made our experience so informative and special. She did an amazing job with providing knowledge, history, and stories-- while also bringing her personality to the tour (which made it very engaging and entertaining). We were able to ask a lot of questions, but she was also so understanding if we just wanted to take in the scenery. I would absolutely recommend Rosalba as a tour guide for anyone who is hoping to experience Rome in a more intentional way!

This was such a worthwhile experience, we knew it would be crazy busy, but our private tour with Rosy made it seem so much less stressful and what an amazing guide! As the Vatican Museums are large Rosy ensured we saw what she considered the highlights in each. We learnt so much from her background knowledge of the Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica which she presented in an easy and enjoyable way. The insight we gained from an art history perspective were amazing. Her ability to pass on set in a “story telling” manner was great. We would highly recommend the tour, and if you are lucky you may get Rosy as your guide!

This tour was a lifesaver for exploring the Vatican. So many things we would have never known in a VAST landscape of things to see. Rosie pointed out the most important things in our limited time, and was a huge help in getting us straight through and skipping the lines. We also opted for the pickup from our hotel which we would highly recommend! The driver dropped us right beside our guide!

We booked a day long excursion through Eyes of Rome whom we were very pleased with. We had a chauffeur Francisco who picked us from the port in a beautiful BMW. He drove very carefully as my wife is a nervous passenger. We arrived in the centre of Rome where we met our guide Rosalba. She took us firstly to the Vatican and Sistine chapel. I am not very good on my feet so she suggested we took a wheelchair and she pushed me around. It was a good plan as there was a lot of walking and steps. There was a lot to see and we only saw a fraction. The Sistine chapel was magnificent and also the sculptures, paintings and tapestries. Rosalba’s knowledge was incredible and there was nothing she did not know. We then visited St Peter’s sqare, but it was too busy to go into the Basilica. Once again Rosalba talked about the Pope and how new Pope’s were elected. A fascinating morning. We also visited by limousine the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum and the Pantheon. We would never have been able to do in a small group and have the personal attention we had and learned so much without Rosalba and Francisco. Eyes of Rome listened to what we wanted in our short stay in Rome and provided the most memorable day for us. We can only say a big thank you to everyone who made our holiday very special, We have no hesitation in booking again with Eyes of Rome. Ken & Elaine

I have been on quite a few city breaks and always hire a private guide to either walk me around a specific building or for a city tour. On this occasion I had travelled to Rome with my mother (who is partially deaf) and as part of the holiday wanted to treat her to a guided tour of the Vatican. We met our tour guide Rosie outside the Vatican and had a four hour tour, which was, in all honesty, the best guided tour that I have ever experienced. Rosie was brilliant with my mother who is quite elderly and was so knowledgeable - I had studied the religious reformation (England and Luther) at an undergraduate level and Rosie really knows the history of the Vatican complex (including pre church), the Catholic Church (including all of the symbolism of architecture, monuments etc) and she tied this all together fantastically into what was the most memorable experience. If I could rate Rosie more highly than five stars I would.

We had a wonderful tour of the Vatican back in early April with Rosalba. She is super knowledgeable and was able to tailor comments to my mother (80), me (50) and my son (15). It was especially helpful to get a download of everything we would see in the Sistene chapel ahead of time - so we could really appreciate it when we got in. Thank you for an unforgettable tour.

Our absolute favorite part of our tour was our private guide, Rosie (Rosabela). We took many tours over our 10 days in Italy and we would book another Eyes of Rome tour in a second if we could have Rosie again. In fact, on our next trip, we'd like to book Rosie for a full day-anywhere! Not only was she extremely knowledgeable and personable but she bent over backwards to make our tour spectacular-in every way. My husband needed to carry a portable chair with us...Rosie made it happen. We needed breaks, no problem. We went over our time slot, no problem. She was able to put all the art and sites into context for us. Her enthusiasm was refreshing-many of our other guides seemed slightly bored. We loved every bit of our experience and can't recommend Rosie enough.

Our tour guide, Rosalba Cilione, was amazing. She was on time and knew the routes of entry that were efficient. Once inside, she navigated the tour in such a way that allowed plenty of time of listening/learning and seeing/experiencing. She brought a book that allowed us to understand what we were going to see before we saw it which was very helpful. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history and art of the Vatican as well as the current happenings. The private tour gave us a chance to the pace the tour to our needs and ask the questions that interested us. This was a quality experience that we highly recommend.

This tour was a bit pricey, but book it now and don’t think twice! For the five of us, this experience was one of the best, most remarkable things we have ever done (and we travel quite a bit and are lucky to get to do nice things regularly). We were a group of five, including two boys (ages 10 and 12) and a grandma (age 75). Rosie met us at the apartment having arranged transportation to the Vatican. Once we arrived, she managed all the logistics and lines without us having to get involved one bit. Beyond the line and logistic management, though, Rosie created for us an experience we will never forget. With Rosie’s expertise, we experienced the Vatican in a way we could not have imagined, and our boys are still talking about it and wondering if and when Rosie can come visit in Colorado. Thanks to Rosalba and Eyes of Rome for a wonderful time that exceeded every expectation!

Our guide, Rosalba, is experienced, prepared, expert, cordial and patient. Plus she was early when picking us up at our hotel. The tour was all that was promised - transport, timing, easy access to the attractions, and no lines (!). And she took us to a secret photo overlook of the Colosseum without a single other person there - an unimaginable rarity at attractions in Rome. There is really no better way to see these sites, and no better guide than Rosalba.

Barbara de Rosa was my private guide for Forum and Colosseum. Barbara met me at the hotel and we proceeded onto the Forum to start then the Colosseum. Barbara was extremely knowledgeable. It was the best way to see these amazing sites. As she said every rock has a story. And Barbara knew them all. She continued to check in and ask if I had questions or wanted more or less info. I soaked in all she relayed. The history is fascinating and the best way to see is with a guide if you do not have the in-depth historical knowledge. This was one of the best tours I've ever taken! Our tour guide, Rosie, was incredibly knowledgeable and made every effort to ensure that the tour covered everything we wanted to see within the Vatican. She really personalized it to our interests. That and the fact that we didn't have to wait in any of the numerous lines throughout the Vatican museums made this experience well worth it. The hidden gems part of the tour is really fascinating and lets you go into parts of the museums that are roped off. Its a nice break from the throngs of people at the Vatican. Gianluca even showed us great restaurants, coffee and gelato shops along the way. he was incredibly informative and knew so much of the history. He knew exactly where to go to skip the crowds too. We had a Vatican, Roman Forum and Colosseum tour with Rosie the next day. She was awesome as well. Super informative and we skipped every line - which was SO worth the money in the Vatican. Spend a Wonderful Day with Rosalba! My family and I enjoyed an incredible day with Rosie on our recent trip to Rome. Since we only had two days, we wanted to see as much as we possibly could, so we went on a private, made to order tour through Eyes of Rome. Our guide, Rosie, made that possible while finding chances to stop, relax, and even shop. Being an expert in Art History and Archeology, she was extremely prepared as she began the day with a walking trip through the Forum and Paletine Hill which overlooked it. As a wonderful storyteller, she gave a vibrant overview of the history and mythology which gave rise to the Rome of today and provided illustrations to show the past and the present. Our next stop was a “Skip the Line” private tour of the Coliseum. She knew exactly how to find the best views from different areas of the ruins and explained little known facts to make it come alive. Following the tour, Rosie walked us to one of her favorite cafes where we enjoyed a local menu as well as her company! Not only did she plan a fabulous afternoon tour, she also assisted us in contacting the airline attempting to get boarding passes for the following day’s flight home, even allowing us to use her phone to try to make contact! After lunch, she called for a golf cart which took us on a private tour of the highlights of the City. The driver was very skilled and made our trip though the busy streets lots of fun. Because we were driving, we saw more than we could have ever seen through a walking tour. Some of the highlights were the Circus Maximus, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo, and the Borghese Gardens. We ended the day with a tour inside the Pantheon and Rosie’s recommendation for a great restaurant nearby. Because of Rosalba’s expertise, kindness, and enthusiastic personality, our trip to Rome will always be a favorite family adventure, one which we will always remember!

Rosalba ('Rosie') was our guide for both our private guided trips in Rome - first to the ancient city and then to the Vatican. We are a couple with 2 toddlers, and after the simply excellent experience on the first trip, we specifically requested her for the next one. She was deeply knowledgeable of all the attractions, clear and interesting in her story-telling as well as savvy in finding a way quickly among the milling crowds. She was particularly considerate of our young tots, and built the tour keeping all in mind as we went along. We had a very pleasant and educational time on both days - recommend her unreservedly!

My 70+ year old parents had an amazing time with Rosalba touring the Vatican. She was patient, intelligent, fun, and extremely knowledgeable. My mom said she “knew every corner of sistine chapel… she pointed out details, oddities that one would not otherwise have seen when walking through.” She has a lot of art history educational training and museum experience and it was evident during the tour as she did a great job explaining the history of artists and artworks throughout the buildings. My parents remarked that they never could tour the site without Rosalba - when they arrived there was an incredibly long line to get in. But as soon as they walked up, Rosalba showed her badge to someone and they cut the line. Incredibly painless and convenient and stress free trip, unbelievably! My mom has some difficulty walking, which I specified to Eyes Of Rome prior to the tour. Going with a wonderful private guide like Rosalba was the solution - Rosalba led my parents through the museum at a pace that was comfortable for my mom. My dad said it was the most engaging and intimate way to see the Vatican, “Like three friends walking through the museum.” Except one of them - of course -Rosalba - was extremely knowledgeable! Thank you so much, Rosalba, for taking good care of my parents. This was a once in a lifetime experience and I think if you hire one private tour during your Rome trip, it should be for the Vatican due to its scale and crowds — and if you’re lucky you can book with Rosalba :)

Our Story Teller was Barbara De Rosa. I'm not sure the tour I picked above adequately describes the tour we took but it was the closest in the list. Barbara picked us up at our hotel and we toured the Coloseum, Forum and Pantheon and several other sites in Rome. Barbara was very knowledgeable about all the things we saw and she was very pleasant to be with. She was also flexible as we added some extra stops along the way and extended our tour with her an extra hour because we were having a very good time. Barbara gave us a lot of very interesting information about each of the things we saw even when we added some things that weren't scheduled ahead time and she was also very good at communicating in our language which isn't always the case when travelling in a foreign country.

Simply put, our family of six (all 55-plus) had an amazing private tour! Thank you Eyes of Rome and Ms. Barbara De Rosa for making our day special, especially after a disastrous start when the tour we booked with another company three months prior was cancelled that morning. Thankfully, Debora at our hotel (Hotel Artemide) highly recommended Eyes of Rome and within an hour we had a tour set up later that day (a good thing too since this was the only day we could visit the Colosseum). Our tour guide Barbara met us at our hotel and had a mini-van waiting for us that took us straight to the Colosseum. I was very worried since my sister needs a wheelchair and my dad is, shall we say, a slow walker, but within minutes I knew Barbara was special as she guided us through the crowds and right into the Colosseum with skip-the-lines access. NOTE: skip the lines is a must if you plan to visit the Colosseum or Vatican, especially on weekends! Barbara was patient with the slow pace our special-needs group, leading us around paths or obstacles where a wheelchair couldn't pass, making sure we saw everything. Barbara led us to the best viewing spots where she pointed out relevant highlights, with pictures on her iPad providing added insight. Three of our group had been to the Colosseum before, and we all agreed this tour far surpassed those we took before with other companies. Getting into the Roman Forum is a difficult challenge for a wheelchair, but Barbara knew right where to go and got us past the barricades with minimal problem. I strongly recommend Eyes of Rome... and I give my highest 5-Star rating to Barbara!

Rosalba was our tour guide for our visit to the Vatican and the Colosseum. Her wealth of information is phenomenal and so much that my head hurts by the second day trying to keep all the details I was learning. It was our first time in Rome and we only had a few days to spend so my wife and I decided to get a tour guide. With all the travels we’ve made to different countries, this was our first time having a tour guide and it was a good decision and very well worth it. We normally just read up about the place my wife and I will visit and then capture photos to remember and reminisce. This time around and having a tour guide, our visit is more meaningful with deeper appreciation and understanding of the history behind the places we visited. Yes nowadays with technology it is so easy to get information and in different formats e.g. video, web, etc. but having a live person actually story-telling its history and answer questions makes the past really come alive! My wife and I enjoyed our time visiting the Vatican and the Coliseum and with Rosalba’s story-telling, she definitely made our learning a very entertaining experience. When in Rome, I would highly recomend getting a tour guide. When selecting a tour guide company, I would highly recommend Eyes of Rome. Last but not the least, I would highly recommend getting Rosalba as your tour guide! Thank you so much Rosalba. We’ll definitely be back and hopefully reconnect.

Rosalba Cilione brought my husband and I for a private tour of the colosseum. Her business card's second line states she is a "Story Teller." That says it all. Her enthusiasm for her profession gives her "audience" an amazing glimpse into the story of Rome. We have traveled a bit, but have to say her tour has to be the best ever. We will be back, and will definitely ask for Rosalba again.
