About Matteo C.
Hi, I'm Matteo, a licensed tour guide and art historian based in Venice.
I hold a Master's Degree in Art History, and before dedicating myself fully to guiding, I spent several years as a teacher. That experience taught me something invaluable: how to turn complex stories into something vivid, human, and easy to connect with.
What I love most about this city is how it never stops surprising me. Every calle, every reflection on the water hides a story waiting to be told — sometimes poetic, sometimes funny, always real.
Being a tour guide is so much more than pointing at beautiful things. It's a conversation — filled with curiosity, laughter, and genuine discovery. Whether it's your first time in Venice or you've been here many times before, I'll tailor every experience to your rhythm and interests, combining famous landmarks like St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace with the quiet charm of secret courtyards, hidden gardens, and small workshops most visitors never find.
My favourite tours? Well, as a local tour guide in Venice, I must recommend our Venice: Doge's Palace and St. Mark's Basilica, and our Venice: Murano and Burano Boat Tour with Glass Blowing Show: I love seeing those colorful villages during Venetian spring!
When I'm not wandering through the city, I enjoy hiking, cooking, good wine, cinema, and long walks with my dog.
I believe that every person I meet and every place I explore adds something meaningful to my life — and that's exactly what I hope to share with you. Let me show you a Venice that's both artistic and alive, full of light, mystery, and stories waiting to be discovered. One smile, and one story, at a time.
