About Lara L.
I was born in Feltre, in the Veneto region, and my path toward becoming a tour guide was anything but straightforward. After high school, I followed my father’s advice and enrolled in law school, even though my mother always said I should work in tourism, because of my love for languages, travel, and meeting people. After graduating in law and spending two years working in a criminal law firm, I realized that this was not the life I wanted. I chose to change direction, studied to become a tour leader and later passed the national exams to become a licensed tour guide. It was a turning point that taught me that it’s never too late to follow your true passions, and that sometimes mothers really do know best.
Today I am proud to share the city I love, showing both its most iconic landmarks and the quieter, more authentic corners that only locals truly know. I love Venice for its contrasts, its beauty, and its everyday life lived on the water. Showing this city to others, from its grand history to its hidden stories, is what makes my work so rewarding.
Being a tour guide is a complete and exciting profession that allows me to combine knowledge, empathy, flexibility, and passion. I love shaping each experience around the people I meet, adapting the tour when needed and creating a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. My greatest satisfaction is seeing that spark in people’s eyes when they feel at ease and truly connected to the place, as if they were walking through Venice with a friend.
My tours are educational but also light and enjoyable, always focused on the uniqueness of Venice, its history and art, but also on everyday life and traditions shaped by water. I like to balance storytelling and discovery, helping guests experience both the famous highlights and the lesser-known corners of the city.
Among my favorite experiences are the Venice highlights walking tour with gondola ride, the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica, the Canal Grande boat tour and the St. Mark’s Basilica with Pala d’Oro and Loggia dei Cavalli with bell tower, the Cannaregio district and the Jewish Ghetto, and the Murano and Burano boat tour with glass blowing demonstration.
